BioShock Infinite

They do flinch & show reactions to getting hit by projectiles, if that's what you're wondering.

To me, this is the best first person shooter I have ever played. I feel like I am actually there. That's my personal opinion though. Before this game it was Unreal 1.

Same here. We see this same cycle every year. Crunch, drought...end of year super crunch in November...rinse and repeat.

One of the biggest reasons I buy games for $10 and under almost exclusively now. I'll always have a cache of triple A titles to play once I'm done with a copy. Only having about 10 hours to play a week allows me to have a virtually infinite supply of great titles I have yet to play.

Well it might not be 10 bux right now, but Amazon has it for 35, so I'll bite!

Was waiting for Metro 2033 LL to go on sale, but this will do for now.

Thinking of starting this next. As a person who resents how pedestrian and easy games have become, is 1999 mode suitably challenging and balanced, or has Irrational just made it harder by turning enemies into bullet sponges?

I don't think making this game hard makes any sense. A majority of the people I've heard complain about this game was playing on a harder difficulty the first time. Just an observation. Worst case you'll spend all your money on consumables and don't get to play with all the powers leveled. Again, makes no sense.

So...when are we going to see the Season Pass DLC for this game? Seems like it's been long enough that we should be hearing something.

GAH...at first I was like "Season Pass DLC already, with no news?!?" and then read that it was just the bonus crap.

HATE YOU Q-BZ. :p

I played my first run 'hard' then finished 1999 without using the dolla bill machines.
I don't recall much different besides enemies being tougher and more plentiful in big fights (like the graveyard). Ammo/health was just as plentiful.

This is a great game that I highly recommend to any FPS fan.
The graphics are dated but I like the arts.

I was unhappy with the very last portion - that filled in the story. Kind of thought it would go a different direction.

The first of BioShock Infinite's three promised downloadable content goes on sale today (Clash of the Clouds) Irrational Games has revealed...however, the bigger news is that the second and third DLC packs will form a two-part detective story set in Rapture

Called Burial at Sea, it will star Booker and Elizabeth as private investigator and femme fatale respectively, and you will get to play as both of them...Burial at Sea is set on New Year's Eve, 1958, the night of the bombing that was the beginning of the end for Rapture...in the first episode you play as Booker, and then in the second episode you play as Elizabeth...

Finally some news...And yay more BI!

Though I'm not sure how thrilled I am about the first Season Pass DLC just being a horde mode, though.

I'm excited about the 2 part Rapture DLC but would have liked to have seen 1 more story based content dealing with the loose ends in Bioshock Infinite...this Clash of the Clouds DLC seems like complete filler (Ken Levine even says as much hence the cheap $5 price)

I'm betting the 2 part DLC will tie into the storyline and tie up loose ends somehow.

Which, frankly, is a little bogus since with the $20 Season pass you would typically expect 3 $10 DLCs to get the value. $5 off is not that amazing unless the story DLCs are incredible (which, maybe they will be, who knows).

yup...anyone remember how much the pre-order Season Pass was?

Well, it was and is still $20 if you don't get it on a sale or something. I don't recall there being a major sale on it ever, even pre-order.

I just played a little of the DLC. It is a filler without a dount, but it actually is quite fun. Its way better than the Metro DLC. Cant wait for the story expansions, too bad its not til later this year, and next for the second

I bought the season pass on day one because Ken Levine. However that was back in march, then 4 months of silence and now finally we get a hint of some endless wave mode - which, who cares because the combat and gunplay are clunky as hell like a 90's game - the juice is in the story and environment.

It sounds like we won't see the first of the two planned story DLC's until the end of the year. I still had a good time playing BI through once but this is making me rethink season passes - and its not even about the measily $20.. its just the principle of the thing and its going kinda sideways. I won't put the blame squarely on Levine - my guess is he doesnt even believe in them since it sets up an expectation - and season passes really have more to do with the publisher wanting to squeeze every drop before product is even delivered, just like the preorder gimmick.

nobody is giving credit to Levine about this so I'll do it...work on the DLC started only after the main game was complete...no content hidden on the disc etc like 99% of DLC being released these days...

"both Clash in the Clouds and Burial at Sea are entirely new content, with Irrational keen to avoid scraping things back up off the cutting room floor..."We have a bit of a different approach to some people to DLC," Levine explained to journalists who assembled at a Boston hotel for the unveilings.

"When we started this, we really tried to listen to the fans, and to us the fans were clearly saying to us, look, we want the A team on the DLC, we want the same team who did the actual game, we don't want it to be stuff that's on the disc, we don't want it to be stuff that some marketing guy came in and said 'leave that aside'.

"So basically the day we finished - literally, pretty much the day we finished Infinite, we went to work on the DLC, starting pretty much from scratch on the game content."

Fair enough. I do feel a little bit slighted by this, but it's not a big deal. Really it just re-affirms that I shouldn't bother with Season Passes anymore.

I saw the trailer for Clash in the Clouds, and laughed at it. So glad I didn't buy the Season Pass, as that certainly wasn't a DLC I'd be interested.

Then I saw Buried at Sea, and immediately bought the Season Pass after picking my jaw up off the floor.

Yes, please.

Same. Rapture is one of my favorite video game settings ever, so I went ahead and threw my money at this as well.

I have to say, rapture really was a breath of fresh air as far as setting and scenery. It really is awesome. However, after the ending to Bioshock Infinite I just dont see the point in any DLC. IMO this is catering to big-time fans of the series.

The point is getting what most of us wanted for a long time; to be in the middle of it's downfall. To see Rapture in it's prime and then watch it all crumble.

Yeah, the very short sequence when you go to Rapture was awesome. I REALLY wanted that to be more than it was. Having that as DLC is awesome.

most definitely...being there to experience the demise that we heard through the audio recordings...and I hear they are not re-using old assests from the original game and are recreating it almost in its entirety for the DLC...can't wait

That makes me think, if they did a Bioshock HD remake, with the game carried forward, remastered into the improved engine and mechanics found in Infinite, I'd be all over that like stink on Mama June.

I think the original Bioshock has aged well...would be nice to see a remaster but I'm fine with it as is

This is perhaps one of the greatest, and quickest turnarounds in recent history, LOL.

Then again, I saw it, and felt the same way . . .

“There’s always a lighthouse, there’s always a man, there’s always a city.”

That ending quote at the end arguably left this open.

I really need to buy the season pass for the 2nd & 3rd DLC. I want to go back to glorious Rapture...
