DeWitt got baptised after they fought together, and changed to Comstock after their path split. Sure, later their path joined again, but Comstock got aged due the use of the tear machine and thus Slate didn't recognized him. And got pissed off that Comstock stated he was there
But then how did Slate end up in the same "tear"? Someone had to bring him across to Comstock's world, otherwise he'd be in the same universe as the "young" DeWitt he already knew wouldn't he? Or did Comstock come back to DeWitt's universe?
It all makes my head hurt...
I ended up motoring through this game in less than a week. It's tough to stop playing - the game does a terrific job of keeping your interest. One of the best games I've played in a while.
When everything was said and done, it seems like the carbine is tough to beat as a primary weapon. It's a headshot machine from the hip and it holds a TON of ammo. I tended to use the shotgun (or just whatever was handy) as a secondary.
I never played BioShock 1 or 2, and when this game was announced my reaction was "meh."
But then I read reviews and eventually spoiled the whole story by reading synopses and watching that youtube supercut of all the story cutscenes.
The time period, setting design, etc. really isn't my style. Even after all that I still bought the game and played through it. To me it's that fantastic. The story and development of the characters' backgrounds really drew me in. It reminds me of films like Looper or Source Code in a way. Really makes you think for a while after experiencing it.
Yeah, the ending was bizarre. I wonder why it was difficult to make a satisfying ending like the original Bioshock?
you should at least play Bioshock 1.
Bioshock 2 is forgettable and a terd.
Thanks for the tip. I was going to get the first two since I've never played the series and just bought a new card simply to Infinite. I'll skip #2.
I wish they would do an HD remake/revamp of the first game. It's kind of a hassle getting it to work right in Win 7, and there are a bunch of annoying mouse issues.

It works fine through Steam for me in Win7 X64 if you wanna re-buy it that way... I got it cheapo on sale though so it was sort of a no brainer rather than pull out the GFW discs....
I honestly think the carbine seemed to make the combat a bit too unbalanced. It's essentially like the sniper rifle, only you can headshot people from the waist using the normal crosshair.
While it's nothing special vs. the larger enemies, it's way too powerful for normal enemies.
It's probably only imbalanced with a mouse.
lots of big releases came out in a short period of time (Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite etc)...now there's a lull...happens every year when all the big game releases are bunched together...don't understand why companies don't spread out their releases more...less competition means more chances of people playing your game

Well, now that it's been more then a month, since I've finished the game, I don't think that I received more satisfaction from Infinite, then from the original Bioshock
When I think of Bioshock I think of slowly queitly creeping my way through this scary and foreboding underworld and get excited for every combat because I get to play with a new plasmid I just got. The ending was very good but I just enjoyed playing the game.
