I'll wait till closer to release date Im sure there will be better deals. Amazon proved that with bf3.
Yup. IIRC, I paid $40.

I really dislike this whole DLC practice from the last few years, i guess its result from the console gaming industry to milk consumers for more money.
Dude...c'mon...seriously? Do you WANT Dice/EA/other people to see your rationale post that explains why $110 is not a bad deal @ all?
It could be $55 and I would still complain. We need to fight this! PC gamers don't pay $60 for a game...that's...madness.
My response was tongue in cheek bro.
I was never a fan of expansion packs in the past cause of the PITA it was to buy another box, install more discs, etc, etc. But now w/ Premium, you pay up front, get em all when they release, don't have to go anywhere, and there's other perks. I paid .65 cents per hour played for BF3.
Bottomline, relax, I agree w/ you.![]()
well i did originally buy bf3, and than re-bought it for premium lol
But wish they would have premium include the base game from the getgo again.
I understand FPS fans buying it at any cost. I'm more of a casual gamer and there is a single fact that prevents me to buy now:
It will be bundled with AMD cards.
And there is rumors that will be included in the Never Settle promo. That only means that the price will drop fast months after release just like any other game that is bundled with video cards. I can wait.
Like the terrible visuals once the building falls? The lack of levolution? The horrible and blurry UI? What about the nasty stuttering issues that forced me onto Windows 8?
I am enjoying it, but it'll be nice when all the issues are ironed out.
You are currently playing a BETA version of the game. Wait to pass judgement until the game is released. If you don't want to preorder, that's fine, wait and see if the rest of us have issues, but don't think that a 3 month old beta build is indicative of the final performance of the game. Remember the BF3 beta?

Same. But I'm hoping it'll be Amazon for $39.99. Just something about paying under $40 for a game that wants me to pay $60 that makes me feel like I've won, haha.
Really? Are you sure you're not just looking @ super high resolution crap?
But seriously, the when the building falls, the textures look like they're...missing. And they're all the SAME color. I don't care if that's how it really looks when a building falls, it looks hideous IMO.
So why do you think Win 8 is far better? I'm mostly miffed @ the lack of Aero. I miss it.![]()
Herrmmm...
But do we really want realistic? How much fun would it be if one shot killed you?
shadyqwerty said:I actually went down 1,000 points in 3DMark 11. I found it odd that my physics score went down so much. The only difference was 331 vs 320 for the Nvidia driver.
Aero had a little white drop shadow behind the text of a title bar, making it very easy to see. And the flat look makes managing multiple windows harder. The new X to close a window is less prominent too.
The new task manager doesn't tell me how many total processes there are. And I actually think it's kinda ugly.
Also, I'm not 100% sold on it being snappier. But then I borked my OS by trying to install some AeroGlass program and had to kill it (force shutdown) a bunch of times. I tried to hit F8 to run last known good, but of course, neither of those options were available to me, so I had to do a restore. This meant reinstalling BF3, BF4, and a bunch of other programs.
I just don't see why they had to take so much away from me. The whole metro UI is just ridiculous IMO. I didn't want a tablet OS. I just feel like this is the ME or Vista, ya know?
But if you say it generally runs games faster and you feel it's snappier, I'll keep on plodding through and hope for the best. It did smooth out BF4, even though I'm still seeing crap GPU usage.
Because this......if you really don't like it, why put yourself through the hassle?
I do feel as though it runs games a little faster with better minimums, and feels snappier on the whole by a longshot, personally...
And that. Also...EDIT: Regarding BF4, there's a new bit of news out on that and Win8: http://www.dsogaming.com/news/battl...-optimizations-win8-dx11-1-still-best-option/.
Not trolling, but what's your beef w/ Origin? After using it for a couple years, my biggest complaint is that it's ugly. Oh, and I don't particularly care for how I have to add all my friends again. But the Origin in game chat seems to be working ok now.
Because this...
And that. Also...
So expect some improvements in the next #BF4 OpenBeta patch. Though Win8 w/ our DX11.1 backend is definitely the fastest path (until Mantle)
Gotta love that "until Mantle" thrown in there. Really makes me consider the R290X or whatever it's called. And w/ their True Audio or whatever that's called maybe we are looking @ the glory days of Glide + Aureal!!
Hey, just to pick your brain a bit, why do you think I'm seeing 50% GPU usage in BF3? I'm actually on the old i5 760 right now. 4670K and board are getting RMAed.
Will BF4 run on Win7?
ROFL! I cannot believe you typed that. Haha, fantastic. 9/10. Bravo. It also doesn't handle loads with even a quarter of the ability Steam can. My guess is that he noticed it start up with Windows and had a spergy ~OMG EA SPYWARE~ reaction before noticing that you *can* get it to not do that.
If you scroll just a bit up, you'll see that there's a Beta patch incoming that will fix some of the performance issues. But if you do decide to run it and it stutters, lower the BF4.EXE process to low priority. It helped a good deal for me. Also, just consider W8. I'm through my 1st 48 hours and am now in full agreement w/ GoldenTiger that it's snappier, noticeably snappier than W7. And of course, BF4 runs better. Will BF4 run on Win7?
I didn't like quitting cigarettes either, but after a couple days it got better. Better to the point where I was able to stick w/ it and did in fact quit.Good point... but ultimately if you don't like it I wouldn't say the aggravation factor is worth it all.
Yeah, he really kinda threw that in our face, didn't he? Like..."Spider Man will be the best superhero movie around...until Iron Man." Sure, Spidey was great, but it doesn't hold up so well IMO. It was different enough in a good way that I prefer it over SM1. Hmmm...actually, I think I'm just speaking mumbo jumbo.I chuckled at the "until Mantle" as well, I guess we'll see what happens with that but I'm not expecting miracles off the bat, though it will be interesting to see how it develops.
Bullocks! Lies! LIAR! Boooooooooo! The reason you're seeing such low GPU usage is indeed because of your CPU. If you've already put graphics options as high as they go, there's little else you can do to shift the load over to the GPU more, though changing mesh settings to "low" or "medium" can reduce the CPU load a good amount in BF3, resulting in overall higher GPU usage. For reference with the 670 4gb sli, with everything Ultra except MSAA 2x and effects medium, in many areas with a 4.6ghz i7 2600K @ 2560x1440 I'm still CPU bottlenecked, and only get 60-70% usage on the cards in some parts of most maps. The same thing was true of when I had an SC ACX 780 at times.
Yeah...that ACX cooler can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. It's loud, it's hot, and mine was stuck together w/ less than 1/4 of the die covered by thermal paste. It crashed in Tomb Raider til I replaced the TIM and who knows if it did any damage or not. Thankfully, the EVGA rep on OCN is hooking me up w/ a full refund, so I'm not pissy about it anymore. More than likely will be ordering an Asus DC2 (despite the rumors of crap memory for clocking)...or maybe the MSI Twin Frozr. Both are better than the ACX and nearly the same $ too. Unless of course some miracle happens and AMD's new toy pulls a whodumalup and pounds the Titan by 10% in BF4 in DirectX...AND clocks well...AND doesn't sound like a fire engine. But GL w/ your classified. I'm sure EVGA bins those heavily, so your chances of getting a high clocker are good. Granted, I'm sure you paid out the nose for it, haha! Bet you never thought we'd see the days of paying for an overclock, huh? Intel + Nvidia got us by the balls...My classified 780 is coming in tomorrow, hoping for a good OCand will be seeing how it stacks up against the 670 SLI OC I'm running. Judging from the Lightning review on HardOCP comparing to a 1333mhz core/6900mhz mem OC to the 7990, I think it'll be very similar as a single card, if not better in some situations (I'm discounting the tomb raider bench since it used tressfx which is just a poorly-done performance-butcher setting). The 670 oc'd SLI I'm on is probably a small amount slower than the stock 7990, so it's looking promising so long as I get a 1300mhz+ OC (which is extremely common on the 780 Classy).
any new deals for BF4? im most likely going to buy it but i dont feel like shelling out 110$ on it.
For anyone thinking of pre-ordering this, I have two words for you:
"Remember SimCity"
I'm holding out on pre-ordering anything from EA until I hear from the community how good it is. I wasn't impressed with the demo/beta. They promised there would be a lot more destruction, so far I see only one building that usually collapses in the first 5 minutes. I guess we won't see Red Faction Guerrilla levels of destruction until they fully escape the PS3 and XBox 360.

At greenmangaming you can get either $8 cash back or $10 GMG credit with your preorder of the game at $60. Buying premium would get you either $6 cash back or $8 GMG credit with purchase of premium at $50.
So......$110 becomes either $96, or $110 and you have $18 of GMG credit.
