BF-BC2 - Post your vital statistics...

He's moved up to #1 on the leader board, 3 levels higher than #2 with 1/3rd the playtime, what a loser

he was probably sitting in a server with people that he knows and just killing over and over

When I first started (for the first 10 hours or so) my KDR was more like 0.7-0.8, lately I've been getting more used to the game and my average KDR over the past few games is more like 1.2-1.3, but its gonna be a few more games before I can bring the overall KDR up above 1 ;)

I'm not very good at battlefield games, compared to COD games where my average KDR is closer to 2.

My K/D sucks, but I always finish near the top with my SPM. Yay medic who actually rezes!

Anyone with wins that are 3x their losses are total stat padders.

I've played a little bit of all the classes but mostly recon whored (But I play actively spotting and helping team)

Did you just call me a stat padder?

Except you, you're pro at everything..

To put it simply, if two evenly matched teams are playing eachother, they should go back and forth and you'll have a pretty consistent win/loss ratio of ~1 ...

If you're stacking teams and playing with clan-mates running through teams on pub servers, you'll suddenly have a high W/L ratio...

So no, nobody gives a shit how/why your score is what it is. My K/D is over 3.0 and I have less than 1.0 W/L ratio because I always play on pubs with random people.

Eh I guess it's over 1.0 now, used to be under...

Unless you're so epically skilled that you can single handedly win a game :p

i gotta get with a clan so i can enjoy some true teamwork. thus far i've been playing pubs and it's very hit or miss as to whether i'm going to get on a decent squad that actually works together. every so often you find one of those servers with some good folks and there's amazing chemistry, but i want that all the time!

edit: last night was one of those rare, "holy shit this team is awesome!" moments on a pub server. first time i ever racked up a 4k score and was at the top of the scoreboard all round long. even after playing the beta like whoa i still really enjoy rush on port valdez. :D

Yeah, its nice when you get a squad that "just clicks". I get so sick of joining squads/teams of bloody snipers that sit there doing nothing.

And Port Valdez is good, I think its a pretty good map, though I prefered it in the beta when you could climb over the hills ;)

Well put Blaze. There is a natural tendency for people to bail on a losing game. Being stubborn, I play it through. In my experience with BF2. A great player/squad does obviously impact the outcome. But there is an upper limit to this, it seemed like the trend was around 1.5 or so. Obviously K/D ratios can be huge, because a player has much more direct control over this.

NOW, I am taking this all from the personal perspective that I only play on 32 man servers. If you consistently play on 16 or 8 man servers, then a single great player has a much bigger impact. Different story there I guess.

Yea I also play on 32man servers only... I just play for fun...

But I usually have a high K/D ratio and I think I contribute to the team as much as I can, lately been playing engineer and medic, got 4500 points in one round as an Engineer because I decided to start using my RPG against infantry... that was just way too easy... 41/12 my first/second time playing Engineer I had just unlocked the repair gun haha.

Now I see why those guys use it so much, it's close to insta-gib without having accurate aim like with Recon.

But stats are pointless, as long as you enjoy the game... and contribute to the team!

Looking forward to playing on Ventrilo with some of my mates for this reason. Not only would it be more fun I'd probably be able to get a lot more done instead of spending half the game reviving a string of rank 15 medics who go the whole game without dropping a medkit/reviving anyone.

Not really hit-and-miss for me, since being where I am I share servers with French, Dutch and Russians who seem to be new to the whole "using a computer" thing. Almost 100% "miss".

No I agree, playing with friends and working as a team is awesome. But most people in pub servers don't play as a team.. it's really easy for a 4-man squad to roll-over 16 player teams that don't work together. I spend half of my time on pub servers trying to take out those guys who work together and rape teams.

My favorite games are when BOTH teams are working together and have skilled players and it's a real challenge, a real battle that you grind out going back and forth, those awesome moments when you blow up the 2nd mcom station with only 2 tickets left, or you manage to stop them on the last mcom station from winning. That stuff is the best.

I still find I'm one of the only people spotting on my team, I spot as medic, engineer, whatever... just press Q ! it's easy and you get free points.

Yeah, it's frustrating. 95% of the servers I join have six two-man squads, and I just sit there wondering what the fuck is going on in their heads.

Then I join and see the enemies running along the outside of the map, spot them and even communicate their movements using the in-game chat, see my teammates continue to charge headlong into the enemy dying and respawning, oblivious to the fact that they're now behind us spawning on each other and taking the points and realise that the answer is zero. The spawn-on-squadmate mechanics means that even a mediocre squad can get lucky and win the match, because if only one guy sees them sneaking past, kills two of them and reloads at just the wrong moment the others can pop out of nowhere, kill him and negate his actions completely before carrying on their merry way.

I mean, by all means play how you want, whatever. But you've got to realise that you're missing out on a lot by not joining/forming squads or picking a role that's needed.

I wouldn't mind knowing the cooldown on spots, come to think of it. There have been more times than I can count where I've just been mashing Q whilst looking at someone in a sneaky spot, and the game's just said "no chance son, you spotted someone else within the last five minutes".

Where can you lookup your stats online? When the game first came out you can look them up on the BAD company 2 website. Now I cannot find the link to lookup your stats though. Can someone help?

I don't think there is a cool-down, but it's somewhat sketchy, sometimes it works when you're looking through smoke and brush (when it shouldn't work), other times it doesn't work when the guy is 20 feet away in your crosshairs (when it should).

It's really weird, also found out the sniper spotting scope is only effective to 75m which makes it fairly useless with a 12x scope, you still gotta manually spot everyone anyways.

I also spot guys even though I'm about to kill them, because there's a small chance I might die or I might miss, so it lets my team know there is someone there. Most of the time I kill him and it doesn't help anyone but I still spot everyone I can. And throw motion-mines everywhere! And mortar strike Mcom's like crazy... Only takes like 3 mortar strikes to destroy the mcom stations that are inside of collapsible buildings... and if your team already placed a charge on an open-area mcom it still kills most people trying to defuse it.

There are so many ways to help out your team and get points in this game, I don't see why everyone can't do it.

Yeah, you're looking at someone anyway. It's not exactly demanding to hit Q at the same time. Same with the droppable kits, I find myself just chucking them down whenever I have a spare moment so they're at least there for someone to run to. Seems other people need you to stand in front of them mashing q - and getting no response because you just used it on something else - before it occurs to them.

Contextual menu. BF2 had better have it. I get BC2 isn't BF2, but if they're going to implement a socialise don't give it the same cooldown for everything.

Yeah my Win / Lose ratio is so high because I normally ONLY play with a full squad of friends. Some of my time is solo though.

What do you play? HC? Normal? What game mode? Or is it a mix?

I tend to play HC, otherwise I get upset that 6 rounds from a LMG won't kill someone.

Good post.

Pisses me off when defending you notice on minimap (if not playing HC) that the string of 3 friendly snipers that were on your flank are all dead and you see an enemy/enemy squad coming at you. Of course NONE of the 3 snipers he/they just shanked are coming back to kill him/them; they just respawn and go to the OTHER side to snipe.

If you let one get in, most times that base is lost. It sucks if no one comes to help you out either. That's the one case where I'll do everything I can to kill that entire squad. If that means going assault, noobtubing off an ammobox, so be it.

I don't play too much hardcore as I love the spotting system and minimap. I play it sometimes just to mix things up but I prefer normal mode in almost every aspect, yes, even weapon damage.

I agree. Sometimes you get really pinned down and/or the spotting doesnt work. I take the time to actually tell my team that, the uav is up, or there is an inbound tank, or there is a recon squad on the ridge. 75% of the time I think ever one is oblivious. But every now and then you get on a team that actually adapts to the situation and people spawn an engies to take down the tank.

The best rush games are the ones where you are literally fighting for every 5 feet. Moving building to building or rock to rock as the case may be.

I played a few 8v8 games last night. More like 5 snipers vs 5 snipers. Oddly the clan that owned the server were all snipers. I was able to get some great ratios with less people because combat is more likely to be one on one. As opposed as a 16v16 where you could turn a corner and find an entire squad defending a building.

I have seen some pretty good sniper squads that actually move up as the medics and assault guys gain ground. On the other side I love when my squad is all snipers and they ask for ammo. Only to find out they are huddled around the spawn.

I dont know if any one has mentioned, but the armor seems pretty well balanced. The gustuv vs player is sorta silly..

Seems to be off by a few days, I've used the smoke and shotgun attachments a good deal. Still don't have playtime in a few vehicles properly recorded. 182 kills with the M-60 shows 2x gold stars, when 186 with the MG36 shows one. Odd.

I can't get my "Distinguished Retaliation Combat" award because I'm just too darned good. SHUX
