Bop said:That is correct. No widescreen.

spaceman said:3 reasons
EA sucks
EA doesn't listen
EA doesn't care
EA sucks donkey balls
Wally said:...what?
id rather use my 1680x1050 to its full advantage.jaguax said:Ok so people are saying that widescreen is a necessity because one becomes "accustomed" to it and going back to 4:3 feels constricted.
But does that REALLY mean that you can never go back to 4:3 again? If you can become "accustomed" to 16:9 then surely you can become re-accustomed to 4:3.
Suppose it was the greatest game in the world. Would you really not play it just because it didn't support widescreen?
Choosing not to play JUST because of no widescreen support is the same thing as saying that graphics make the game, not gameplay.
edit - And when I said that they made a 3D engine from scratch, I meant the original BF2 engine. I said that meaning that if they are smart enough to program a whole entire three dimensional game, then surely implementing something as simple as widescreen should be a walk in the park, correct? So why don't they do it then?
spaceman said:but whatever, ppl will still buy it and I will still play it until Quake Wars or something better comes around.

Wally said:Mate, look at who you're talking to. Really, don't even bother, you'd find your time spent more productively if y'pissed off now and stuck your nose in the toaster or something.
Those whom I made all indignant-y on the topic of widescreenmay or may not be interested to know that i've recently come into some money, and have decided to treat myself by shuffling out of the stone age and getting my first TFT - a 19" widescreen. Not the best for the job, I know, but i'm pretty pleased. However, guess what? I'll still be getting BF2142, because I feel capable of putting up with a slightly imperfect image in order to enjoy the game. Maybe i'm too tolerant (anyone would be after two years of playing games at 12fp at 640x480 - Dell, of course), but it seems to trivial an issue to make such a fuss about...
