Beat the clock @ Monarch Computer

Ok, I grabbed this at the Monarch Midnight sales deal, for 299.99 last night.I didnt see the clocks listed on the site, so i assumed it would be like the standard ATI x1800 crossfire edition at 625/720

Well, after I ordered it the card dissapeared off the site, I got confirmation and all that. I decided to google this card and found some more details on the clocks of this (connect3d part #3054)

Strange it lists the clocks at 500/500.


Can anyone confirm the clocks?? as I was EXPECTING 625/720 from a Crossfire Edition x1800xt... Im wondering if this has 2.0ns ram like the x1800xl has, or if its the faster 1.x like the x1800xt

No what I think it is, is that we have come to expect Newgg to give the best prices and lately we have been hearing a bunch of great comments about Monarch. Now several of us thought there might be increased competition and we might have a new place to buy from.
Some of us thought we might get the chance to find out to make our own judgement. When we were given a chance to take them serious, they did not even give it a good try.
There was no attempt, alot of hype, and alot of wasted time.

I think the reason most of us are let down is because we thought we were going to get some good deals on componets like some retail Opterons and maybe a DFI motherboard or a Creative X-Fi card or something like that. I know the majority of us here at HardOCP aren't looking to purchase full pre-built systems so waiting around for the deal last night was sort of a waste of time. And not to nit pick but why did the thing start like an hour early? The timer still had almost an hour or something left on it when everything started. I'm glad they didn't have any that great or i would of been upset that i missed out cause i thought i still had a little bit longer to wait before it started.

I didn't get there right when it started but I still thought I saw some pretty good deals. LGA775 3.0ghz for $99
p4-478 3.2ghz for $125.

I thought the deals were great for quite a few parts that I saw.

I heard Monarch was going to compete with Newegg by charging sales tax in California!!!!!!!

Jokes aside, I was really hoping for a DFI/Opteron combo too. I'm disappointed yet thankful that I don't have to spend any money right now. I'll hold out awhile longer for the newer stuff (AM2, conroe, etc. etc.) I just bought DDR2 ram even though I don't have a DDR2 board.. lol.. only because the OCZ Gold Gamer GX XTC DDR2 2GB PC-5400 was on sale for ~$170 (speaking of which did anyone see the 2 GB OCZ Gold Edition DDR2 PC5400 on Monarch yet? $209 - $40 rebate i think and has 4-4-4-8 timings too.. damnit.. better than my GX ). And besides.. my 7900 GTs (stares gleefully at Dell) haven't arrived yet but I'm sure they'll work on my future motherboard.

from my experience as far as customer service goes, newegg cannot compete with monarch. i have bought from both companies for different reasons......monarch for thier great mobo combos, newegg for single components. recently i purchased a oem thermalrock case from monarch, it arrived in great shape but missing the pci locks, drive rails, case keys, manual. i called customer service and talked to a gentleman by the name of kieth, he informed me oem cases did not come with those accessories but would check around to see if they had some they could send me. a few days later he called me back to inform me they didn't have any but ordered them from thermalrock and i should receive them shortly. true to his word they arrived a few days later.

i might be able to save a couple bucks at newegg but kieth has earned my future business.

Why would Newegg say anything here. I would let Monarch rest in what they laid. Its just good buisness practice on thier part. Logic at its best.

It is also sad I have the time to look up all the post you have ever made. The only post you've made so far, are regarding only Monarch related issues. You have yet to make a statement that gives you any credibility with anything computer related. Monarch staff: would you please not be so obvious about your statements. At least you put forth a little effort with a couple non releated post. Hey I am Monarch lets do one post that has nothing to do with us and they will all fall for it!!

I want to say thank you icefhishin for making my search easy. Your one only post to our gathered collective added something I could never add myself. Monarch and ethics are two words that don't go together. Don't trust these guys. They put little effort in the making of a web site and they put little effort in getting you your parts. They at least put up a scam
in getting a good amount of money from a group of people that given a couple of weeks would have had a bit of understanding on making a buying choice.

How-ever FO SHO and his understanding of ebonics has confused me on my last statment. It is true that you can not assume that a person on [H]ard OCP is ignorent or gets the related field based on the name stated on the right of his nick.


All I know is that I have checked out Monarch for over a year now and have yet to found them someone I would even consider buying from. Check my previous statements, I tried to give them a chance.

if you have had a bad experience with any online retailer it's always good to get the word out, however if you had a good experience you should try to do the same. i didn't bad mouth any e-tailer i just shared one of my good experiences with monarch and the reason why i will buy from them in the fututre.

I'm not usually a concpiracy kook as you say but if I was Monarch I would be giving those type of post. While making sure to use severial different aliases. The more things can get downplayed the less it resides in peoples memory. As a result month's from now when it all blows over buisness might pick up again.

yeah, what he said. For me, Im actually really happy about what they did because their full systems own and itll save me an extra $125 with their rebates.
