Battlefield V

As to game itself, it is a big nah for me. Finally got my 1080ti in sli working right in dx11. I haven't seen anyone else post numbers so here is a screenshot. I was between 108 to 130fps at 4k with everything set to ultra.

I tried this for about 10 mins. Played like garbage, looked like garbage. Uninstallejust run and shoot, kill things. BF has become total garbage after 2142.

HAHA I was just thinking the same thing. Does not feeling like WW2 at all... to many inaccuracies in the weapons used and just not feeling it at all.
 
I like it, but I seem to be capped at 60fps, couldn't seem to fix it. Frame limiter was set to 200. My 1070/5820k on ultra was getting taxed. Saw it in the 30's at times in certain areas.

Dice/EA have lost their fucking minds. This thing is going to be in the discount section in 6 months. Played the alpha and beta just cant seem to get into it. BF1 left me with the same impressions. Someone earlier in the thread nailed it with the CoD like description.

I have to hand it to DICE, they really went all out, above and beyond to ruin the Battlefield Franchise.

Alienate loyal core customer base = Check
Butcher period theme content = Check
Allow players to shoot women in the face = Check
Allow players to stab women = Check
Allow players to club women to death = Check
Censor words but allow killing = Check

You have to change graphics to ‘Custom’ and then the option to disable vsync will appear.
 
I will say any time I watch videos it confirms for me how difficult it is to see the other players in this game. More often than not he starts shooting at people I don't even see at first or at all.

eh the beta's not bad for being free but definitely confirmed my choice to not pay full price for the game.. my biggest gripe so far is the animation damage cancelling, straight up had a guy dead but he used his knife while he was 5 ft away from me, nope that was close enough to start the animation so the 8 bullets i hit him with during it did zero fucking damage. but then again i've always hated dices garbage animations, either stab them or don't, i don't need a 10 second long animation of me stabbing some one or some one stabbing me.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread, but it also blocks DLC and other forms of it unless you include free before it ("DLC" is blocked, "free DLC" is not). Lol. EA strikes again.

It's one thing to filter (I think the filter should be a user toggleable option) bad words, but to filter random stuff the company may not want discussed is really silly. I get it, it's their game, they can do what they want. But I find it entirely unnecessary.

I get that they're trying to steer into the "play as you want to look" customizable experience. But all everyone else needed was a simple client side toggle to turn it off and force defaults. They won't do that because right now, customization is their money train.

I'm curious what this game would have looked like if the whole Battlefront 2 fiasco didn't happen. If you look at the systems in place, they're oddly setup like a WarThunder/WoT style microtransactions grind game.

- Limited unlock tree for weapons/vehicles.
- Have to buy a new version of the same weapon (with in-game currency) if you want to try out the other tree.
- Skill trees everywhere.
- Limited release content with more content sprinkled free over time.

Battlefield has had hints of this stuff since BF3 (the unlock trees, DLC seasons). Those were designed to sell the season pass upgrade.

Now with the season pass upgrade gone, these new systems (grindy) appear to be designed to get you to play a lot and put a stronger emphasis on in-game currency. The only way that makes economical sense from the game publisher is if they're able to monetize you in some way. I think if Battlefront2 didn't happen, this would be loaded with pay-to-win (skip the grind), points boosters, and loot boxes.

I posted above to the dedicated Reddit thread with the community manager discussing this very issue. I don't buy some of his responses though since it sounds like they are arguing they are tired of seeing sports on TV. They want to ban sports rather than change the channel off ESPN.
 
I played a few matches before I hit the bug where you can't deploy (timer is stuck at 9 no matter what). It was... meh?

The Rotterdam map is pretty, but pretty busy, you can tell they designed specific things to just be noise. It plays fine enough but the starting weapons are kind of trash. Eh I might play a bit more, but I don't think this has won me over and won't be getting my money in a few months.
 
I'm kind of enjoying it but it doesn't feel like WW2 era for some reason. I can't put my finger on it exactly but something seems off about the set pieces for this period. I mean BF 1942 you knew was WW2 era Cod1/2 etc you knew were WW2 era but this? Wtf? I don't get it. What do you guys think?

I thing I don't like is the long respawn times. The whole wait to blled out or call for help shit has to go.

yeah it doesn't feel much like ww2 to me either. the respawn time is good, I think it could be a little longer actually. the problem with fast respawn times is it makes the game more arcade and theres less incentive to stay alive. the shorter the respawn time the more death match feel the game will get, which I think it already feels like it a little.

after playing more last night, some of the weapons need more ammo. and its dumb I don't spawn with the max ammo I can carry, that I have to go get more right after spawning. also, even though I'm maintaining a good kdr, went 40-16 in the last round. the time alive feels really short to me. I feel like I'm always respawning. which makes me feel like I'm not doing much. I play aggressive so maybe thats part of the problem. but I also think that 64 players is too much for these maps. these maps should be capped at 40. like bf1's argonne forest. 64 players is a cluster fuck on that map and these 2 maps borderline that feeling. the infantry movement speed feels perfect to me.

also no one is playing medic cause the guns suck. and the 4 other unlocks show them having the same damage amount as the first gun, which I assume its just missing damage info.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but particularly ^this point.
 
Feels clunky, dropping settings to medium to see people, easily had 2.5 KD ratio once I did this... I dunno the game play is weird, maybe after more time I will warm up to it.

Also I can't hit shit as Support, yet murder with a Medic...

i think their attempt with the limited ammo is to try and force team play more but it's not really happening, everyone just plays assault medic or sniper. i do agree the city map(can't remember the name of it) is definitely too small for 64 players.. i literally just sit in the underground section below echo and rack up 15+ kills because the enemy spawn feeds right into it. i would also like to see the respawn times increased to maybe 20 seconds not including the 5 second death sequence, right now i think it's 15 seconds including it.

i think a lot of it is that people forget to turn off the cinematic shit that creates the static effect. i don't know why it's on by default since it's really only suppose to be there for people that want to do cinematic video's. but then again i can only run the game at medium so i have no idea what it looks like with the higher settings, lol.

the bullet drop is stupid fast and the bullet speed on the sniper rifle is slow as hell but i guess it makes sense to force people to upgrade the class. usually i just run around with the p38(?) pistol which needs to be hard nerfed in my opinion. i've mostly been playing assault though.

It's funny people bring that up but it's actually a common slur in Asia when Chinese players would get on oceanic servers. I'm sure they just combined a crap load of f2p profanity filters but didn't actually see what was on them.

Either way the chat function in the game is garbage and there really no need for the filters.
 
The more I play this crap the more I feel like this is the shittiest one in the series, this makes 2142 look golden and that was utter shit compared to BF2.

If BO4 Battle Royale is somewhat decent I may actually give in to another COD....

I hate the long respawn time. I would rather have a short respawn time and a longer run to get back into the battle. As someone who plays the objective and never cares about k/d, it gets old quick.

This brings me to one of my other issues with this game. With the lack of spotting, there is no good way to look at the map and tell where the main conflict is. I find I run around and never see anyone, or I might see one or two players.
 
So I tried the beta and it ran fine on my system, I was getting 90-95 fps with my 1080ti and my own feeling is that this is a rehash of battlefront 2 and battlefield 1 which is a very bad thing for the entire series.

The menus are the same and are very consolized which as a pc gamer, I consider it to be a step backwards for the series. The weapons and the upgrade system are the exact same as battlefront and battlefield 1 where you use in game currency (clearly EA wants to monetize this shit) and you can no longer unlock weapons and attachments by using them in game like battlefield 4.

Going forward this game is going to have a minimal amount of weapons to use like battlefront and battlefield 1 and EA is going to support this as well as they did battlefield 2 - which they didn't because they got pissed over getting called out on battlefield 2.

Overall this is a pathetic excuse for the battlefield series because EA/Dice is turning this into Call of Duty and the last great battlefield game was battlefield 4.

Its not all bad because I got burnout paradise remastered for $5.

Tried the beta for about an hour. It runs and looks great, but it just wasn't fun. Theres way too much spam and too much of what happens seems luck instead of skill.
 
See the experiences people are having are probably going to differ widely depending on the group you were playing with / server you were on. I thought the game played decent but there were a number of bugs ( as it is a beta). My problem with it is and will always be with Dice's netcode.......it sucks and has never really improved for me in my experience. playing BF4 it was my biggest gripe. I ran into the same type of rubber banding i had with BF4 in one of my play sessions in BFV.
Probably why I won't pick it up for full price.....plus the threat of micro-transactions for cosmetic items and "customize-able" players. Its not the gender thing that gets me.....its the ridiculous patches / face paint / cammo / clothing / backpacks, ect that turn me off. If its a WWII game, stick to the traditional roots and leave it at that don't add in insane looking items that didn't exist as the the time period.
 
I enjoyed the beta. Some rubberbanding at times, but I had a lot of fun. I've always enjoyed the BF series. I just won't buy it at full price. I'll wait a few months and get it on sale.

Looks beautiful, though. I want an RTX and then check it out. :)

Wait what, is this some sort of joke. What if Black Ops Blackout mode is kickass.

I just watched a youtube vid of people that played the blackout mode at Triarch, looks pretty fun.

This would freak everybody out on this forum?
