Battlefield: Hardline

Ever since I played pay day I was waiting on a game where human players could be cops instead of ai!

Love that animated Gift combo of Payday and GTA for sure....
I tried for a Beta key not sure if I want my eyes to bleed...from the total realism..

Is it me or does movement seem just like cod? Ugh this is annoying!

this game is straight shit as i suspected.
its a bf4 mod that they are going to sell for $60 + $50 for premium.

and if this game does good, expect bf5 to be the same thing.

i am definitively not buying hardline and i hope others are smart enough to do the same thing other wise this will become EAs new business model. if it wasnt already bad enough.

So Hardline preorder at Gamestop gets you the sweet police badge.

I'm going to wear this while I play. (Note this isn't my photo, I don't drive a filthy Ford)

that would be a good thing given how fucking janky BF movement is.

I played the beta.

I dunno the movement pretty much seems the same as always, and gunfights are seemingly random as fuck, especially up close. It's complete and utter pandemonium and honestly doesn't really feel like a BF game so far. It's just kind of its own, weird thing.

With no gunner seat, people just try and smash cars into you at 900mph, bail on the moment of impact, and poof out into thin air spraying all over. Helicopters are hilariously weak. Motorcycles are absolutely bonkers and you can just ramp guard rails and soar 100 feet through the air.

It's just not very fun so far to me.

EA has turned DICE into a Battlefield factory. It doesn't matter if the quality keeps taking a hit, so long as they can keep pumping more and more money into the advertising.

Did anyone ask for a Battlefield "Cop simulator"? I sure as **** didn't.

This game is pretty much the Stopgap for Starwars Battlefront

They could of just added some more X-packs to BF4

probably one of the worst games i've ever played. it's also impossible to get over 60 fps during gameplay regardless of settings on my rig. with everything on high (auto) my framerate was 46 in the spawn area regardless if i was playing at 1080p or 1440p, lol.

DX11 yields me low 40's, Mantle gives high 80's.

I feel like my character is running through molasses. Like someone tied a huge rubber band to his back and told him to try and run. BF4 felt the same too. I went back to play BF3 to see if it did feel different. Yep. Smoother running/movement in BF3.

I pray they don't leave this slow ass feel in Battlefront. The original was fast/fluid gameplay.

This is one of those titles I will pass on... and I'm a huge BF fan. Whatever update they did 1 or 2 days ago, did make the whole game feel smoother, but everything just feels "off" and "slow"

Choppers are useless it seems, the unlock system is clunky and confusing. I (and everyone else) knows that 80% of the attachments are bullshit fluff anyways. I still want to know why they think it's okay to have 3 different grip styles to unlock or buy that don't do anything different than the other 2 styles?

The other thing that's useless are the audio call outs. In past games if you are playing US and you hear russian or chinese, you become more alert and mindful. Now? everyone is speaking english, hearing someone yelling "man down" or "grenade" doesn't mean anything anymore. Could be friend or foe. Same with the choppers in the air... more than a few times I will be panning around and see a chopper in the distance, take an attack posture/etc and then only to find out it's a static news chopper sitting in the distance. lame.

latest update did give me huge performance increases. With crossfire 290's, at 1440p ultra, I'm running smooth as can be. Doesn't look too impressive though to be honest, funny enough while on the loading screen I get a capped 30fps, the scrolling "Newsfeed" at the bottom is pretty choppy, soon as the graphics engine loads and gets rolling the FPS suddenly spikes up to 90-120 and is smooth as silk.

On one hand I understand.... it's EA, they are evil. And for an extremely minimal amount of time and effort of re-skinning BF4, to get an entirely "new" game... they stand to make hundreds of millions of dollars.

On the other hand: fuck their money grab of a game. I might be reinvesting into the console world for a while due to a new job that's 24/7 travel. (measure while drillign Specialist for an energy company) Can't really haul a huge gaming PC around with me in a situation like that.

I think the game needs a healthy map rotation and it would be fine. The catch is that EA wants to call extra maps DLC, so you won't be able to play with all of your friends unless they buy Premium. My friends are sick of DLC so this business model has become antiquated.

More than likely we will all pass on this game, even though we didn't mind the map we were playing. We just got tired of playing the same map over and over. In BC2 or BF3 there was a lot of strategy involved so we enjoyed playing a small rotation of maps to master them. Hardline doesn't have that "thing" that hooks us in.

Pretty much this. I had the exact same thoughts and feelings on it.

I kinda like it once you know what you doing. Protecting the guy with the loot is hell of a rush

Got in on beta this weekend and not impressed at all, def feels like a re skinned bf4..btw is that the engine its running on? I got in on the free bf3 and hardline looks worse to me...bf3 is better..

I knew it was a BF4 port as soon as I saw a gameplay video on youtube. Fucking garbage. I would not give them $20 for this shit. I already forked over $80 for BF4 w/ premium and feel I got fucked pretty hard.

Played a little, looks/plays like 'take your pick' BF, uninstalled. Bargain basement game for $5-10 at best.

Yeah this was a really bad idea ea...The only good thng about this is the sound of the patrol cars. Good rumble there. Otherwise? Ewwwwww!

And it's uglier than BF4.. Hell, Bad Company 2 looks better. You'd think since last gen is completely out of the picture they would have done something with the graphics.. Yet, they seemed to have actually downgraded them. The texturing in the vehicles is completely hideous looking.. Someone seriously got paid real life money to create textures and mesh that are on par with PS1 quality.. I pray people aren't stupid enough to buy this and it fails. It reeks so bad of a cash grab.

I agree just got bf3 for free and they almost look identical and bf3 might even look better...the only bf I had was bf1942, will stay that way...

This beta has actually grown on me because the action is nonstop, especially when Heli piloting and chasing getaway cars underground. Playing in a group with some friends on voice comm is also fun, because even one well coordinated squad can pretty much shift the whole round because you can erase the enemy's gains so quickly by group-robbing their vault.

I"ll probably pick it up. Everyone that thinks its "just a BF4 mod" or "should've just been DLC for BF4" or "is only worth $5 or $10" -- valid criticisms but ultimately should probably just pass on buying it instead of spilling a whole lot of tears over it.

Well, it is a beta.

Going off a couple of hours with the beta: I do like it, though I'm not going to dismiss its sometimes feeling like a BF4 mod (and by extension the sentiment that EA could well charge usual retail price for a mod). I'm impressed it runs as well as it does at 1080p on my contingency PC, too (at least until the crane comes down), though I imagine that's the Mantle effect.

You did see gameplay streams on Twitch today, yes? Its essentially watching people play Battlefield 4.

I'm not putting the title down when I call it a re-skin. I'm still a fan of this series, but I'm calling a spade a spade. I'll probably even buy the damn thing.

Gotcha... yeah, it very much seems to have shared resources with BF4. I tried it once so far and it didn't grab me in an hour, but I'm going to give it another shot today... :D.

Actually, you can lean out the window to fire, and then get back in for protection, with the Z key by default, as a passenger. So they do have "gunner" seats ;).

The thing pissing me off the most is after you load the game, you sit there for another 30 seconds watching and waiting for dumb asses to ready up. And once you have 12 players confirmed ready, then you get to wait ANOTHER 10 seconds because "fuck you" thats why.

I get you don't want to have a single team with SSDs loading in and getting a 10 second jump on the cash, but jesus, make it so once 2 players from each team are ready, you spawn and start playing.

1/4 of the game seems to be waiting... waiting to load, waiting for people to be ready, waiting for count down timer, waiting another 1/2 minute after the round is over so I can sit and watch people type the word fag over and over.

Well, it is a beta.

The definition of Beta is a game that is feature complete, but missing bug testing and balancing. All assets are already developed and it could launch at anytime after receiving beta status. Does that mean that the quality of the textures might improve before launch? Yes, they can as they might be withheld from the Beta until internal bug tests are completed. But the point is that the game is completed. Finished. WYSIWYG. And what I'm seeing is missing something that hooks my gaming clan in.

If Visceral had said it was an Alpha, I would look at what is there and get excited about what new direction that the project might take. Alpha status means that the game's core design isn't set in stone. That testers can still suggest design features and have them implemented. Alpha code crashes a lot because the game is in a constant state of flux. Only the brave join a game to test Alpha code as you'll spend more time writing bug reports and expressing your opinion of the game design than playing.

I'm not telling anyone pass on the game if they are enjoying it. It's Battlefield through and through. There is nothing wrong with liking a new Battlefield title that adds in a twist to the game play. But that doesn't mean that everyone appreciates an artist's work in the same way. :)
