Battlefield: Hardline

Game is quite different after unlocks. Like every BF game.

I played quite a bit of BF3 including the alpha, closed and open beta, and then quite a bit of the regular game. Battlefield 4(free with a gpu) I have maybe 10-20 hours logged in max. It was just more of the same and not as fun anymore. That's exactly how hardline feels except that I don't care for the setting or game modes one bit. Plus I can already see the premium BS which is just frustrating. Anyways, thats my opinion.

Funny after watching this video. I will not be purchasing this game.

Was really thinking about it. Now I will use my money to pre-order GTA5.

Bring on Battlefront!

I know a lot of people who don't like hotwire because of this. I honestly love it. Hotwire is about driving where opponents aren't. Also, I love how a lot of tdm morons are pissed off how they score so little compared to people who have sub .5 kdrs who are tearing up the scoreboard. It's about time people who play for the objective get points over idiots who don't even know what an objective means.

I went ahead and got a refund, don't see the myself putting in the hours in it like I did with BF4.

Exactly this! Hotwire is so multi-faceted: you can troll the other team or go for the objective and both help your team massively.

Re: the donut guy, stat padding will be a problem on every progression style game so why let that put you off? If I had been on that server I would've hunted that guy down and treated him to an RPG.

Yeah my KDR is terrible in this game but I am always near the top on Hotwire because I am working for the objectives.

Even the newer objective modes like Bloodmoney and Heist, horrible KDR, but at the top of the score board, finally a Battlefield title that rewards team/objective play...NERF IT!!!!

Looks like Best Buy will be selling all versions for $39.99 on 3/29-4/4 or $31.99 if you have GCU.

Wasnt gonna buy this, but picked it up and have put a shitton of time in MP. Its great stuff.

They make a mode called Classic Mode that solves all your issues... yet no one plays it and no HC servers transitioned to Classic. And you know why? Because Hardcore is where the slow players go to grind out their 1:1 KDR while they convince themselves it's about SLOW METHODICAL TACTICAL GAMEPLAY!

ARMAIII and Insurgency is the game you want to play, and if you distilled those games down its just pixel peaking instagib, where players just Poach kills inbetween CP's. Most maps are not designed around HC and how about simulating SAPI plates and increasing vehicle gun velocity to actual values.. say 5500 FPS for a 120mm tankshell? oh that would be TOO hardcore right  Hardcore is for people who want their Infantry FPS cake without the nasty realism of anything else, we can't have it all so Normal mode is where the balance is at.

Probably the best example of a strawman argument I've seen exhibited in a long time.

I never claimed to want hyper-realistic gameplay. In fact, BF42/BF2 were not hyper-realistic (Stuka flag pickups on CTF were the sh**). All I was saying is that a lot of hardcore players aren't playing to get "easy kills", they're playing because it resembles BF more than COD.

BTW, it goes both ways. If it's easier to kill, it's also easier to DIE. So anyone claiming that hardcore is easier is only fooling themselves. In HC you can't get shot 5 times, hide to regen, and be back at it. The reverse is true in normal, it's way easier to survive. Has nothing to do with aiming, has everything to do with the handholding mechanics that mode offers.

But then again. A lot of us are the old guard. The ones who don't care about stats or KDR or unlocks that the consolization of the FPS genre brought us. We just want to jump into servers with our friends and have fun. Imagine if the Red Orchestra game decided to implement all of the BF normal features. You don't think a good amount of old fans wouldn't flock to a hardcore mode? Not because it's "easier" but rather because it resembles the series they love. If they wanted the other way, they would have played a different game to begin with.

I have yet to touch the MP in the game but the SP is fun but also incredibly idiotic.

Here let me put the cuffs on you. Meanwhile Mr. Badguy # 2 please wait while I put your friend down. Gets a chuckle out of me everytime. It was so idiotic and out of place that I started just shooting up bad guys rather than putting up with idiots standing around while I am looking down and cuffing their compadre.

Took me right out of the SP when I go from an intense car chase/getting my ass shot up to getting my ass chewed out by my boss with no explanation as to what happened to the tons of bad guys that were just after me, no back up or SWAT or anything, just my partner, the perp and my boss by the side of the road like all was fine...except for the ass chewing.

How has hardcore mode ever resembled battlefield more then cod? It simply doesn't at all. It resembles cod gameplay, getting shot in the back instant death and no chance to take cover is cod's trademark style gameplay. Who sees who first wins.

It's way easier, mainly because the maps in battlefield are more open and you can constantly be flanked from any angle. Take a look how maps and spawning works in RO or insurgency are designed with face to face confrontation it's absolutely nothing like battlefield.

I liked the game so much that I bought myself 2 copies,

Actually, I bought the Digital Deluxe version yesterday since the ACWR or ACRW gun only comes with that version and right now you can't get it any other way and I wanted to try it out.
It is a very decent gun for the Operation class. I requested a Refund a few hours later and will see what they do. Maybe the gun will stay with my standard edition.

I decided to cancel my refund since my clan mate really enjoyed it and told me to give it another try. Well I'm still not sure what to think of it. There are times when I get 2 headshot hits (confirmed) with the AKM and it's not a kill, but they instantly turn around and kill me in 2 seconds to the body. I'll try messing around with the network smoothing settings, but something just feels completely off in this game.

I've noticed that too. I've also gotten killed with one shot in the leg from a Scout Elite and it always seems to take 2 hits to the body when I use that rifle.

they need to make hardcore feel like hardcore, right now it feels like normal with the map and hit markers removed.

Since this game is so heavily based on BF4, I strongly suspect the killcam bugs carried over.

They had the killcam issues fixed for 3-4 months last summer, then sometime late last year with a patch some (but not all) of the issues came back. Things like weapon/vehicle type and remaining enemy health are still a major issue. According to the killcam, I get killed by pistols across a map behind a wall all the time when it was actually a UCAV or mortar. Other times I shoot a guy, see 3 hit markers but he still kills me first, and kill cam shows 80+ health. Teammate immediately kills him and I get a kill assist for 70+ points.

What's your internet connection? This is the first FPS game I've played in awhile that didn't feel like terrible latency compensation. I tend to play on low ping (<30) servers, and haven't had any issues, compared to say CoD:AW where I can unload a full clip point blank and not register one hit.

Isn't there some kind of a bullet upgrade for the sniper rifles that everyone was complaining about during the beta? That could explain how you were one shot.

Let me know if it still shows up.

Cannot believe why this guy and total biscuit have any audience. So annoying and downright Ill informed people that hold personal grudges against developers. Seriously.

Like a lot of reviewers, they start off legitimate and enjoyable, but the bigger they get, the more ego? they get which lowers the overall quality and objectivity of the audience. I mean, we all have our biases, but if I say BFH is good/bad, nobody cares. If one of the big reviewers says it, groupthink takes over for a lot of people and it can help/hurt the game. I mean, look at the other thread posted about why do you dislike BFH... It's a quite sad statement about this community's lack of independent thought (and it's not better outside of [H] either). Way too many of the posts state the reason it's a terrible game is "It's made by EA".

Never liked TotalBiscuit, have always found him annoying. Can even do a search on my previous post about the guy.

FYI, TotalBiscuit criticized the game for not having a FOV adjust in the single player...the MP and SP share the same settings and thus the FOV was right in the video settings, which are just as deep and rich as other BF titles.

FOV doesn't carry over to SP or at least it didn't in my game.

This also came out long before release.

@dirtydeathdog @Alfa__101 yes FOV is locked for the campaign

I've been enjoying the game since I like the theme and environments.
Sometimes I feel like I am in the movie Heat when leaving the bank and shooting at the cops, lol

they just need to lower the health setting in Hardcore since it feels like health is at 100 and the hud and mini map are removed.

My stats aren't really that good.

My internet is fine. Most of my issues with connection and hit registration went away when I fixed my router setup.

You are misunderstanding. I'm not complaining about some guy killing me first in a firefight. I'm talking about the killcam not registering the actual hits and damage they did take. It's a well known issue. The server itself registers the hits, because I get kill assist points matching how many times I hit them, but the killcam doesn't register.

Here is AngryJoe's review.

5/10

Even though I find him annoying most of the time, his review was actually entertaining and 100% completely spot on about the game. It's shit. I guess EA is happy knowing blind fan-boys will still shell out $60+ on a game just because it has Battlefield in the name, whether it's good or not.

in defense of joe; the guy actually plays the games he reviews. i don't think he ever states that what he says applies to, or should apply to, everyone. last time i checked people have opinions - obviously his reviews are his. i don't like real housewives or the kardassians but they don't bother me or get on my nerves since i don't waste my precious time on shit that does. he is spot on about dice and ea in my opinion.

So I noticed last night once I started playing on the Hotwire maps that had Hardcore mode that my points and kill/death ratio vastly improved.
