im so hyped for this console port, mouse acc tiny fov and scripted events BRING IT ON

Well mr happy pants, I'm sorry to inform you that this game's lead development platform is the PC, looks like you'll have to rely on Crysis 2 for your crappy port pleasure. :D

sooo im looking at bf3 on amazon and is it just me or is this just a blanket quoted release date?

yeah it's just a placeholder until the official release date is announced.

I'm convinced this won't come out until summer 2012 and I don't care as long as its worth it.

If COD really is scheduled for November then BF3 comes out november. But then again who knows? right...

I just want a demo lol

Big interview with Patrick Bach here, where he states he isn't interested in outselling COD but rather making the better game.
Good.

I don't think BF3 will beat the next CoD title in sales, not with the market that they're working with. Today's generation of console gamers probably haven't even played a Battlefield game prior to BC2, but as long as BF3 is every bit as amazing as its predecessors, then I'm sold. I have nothing against the CoD series but there are times when I can't stand the hordes of obnoxious fans that it has who all seem to think that its the best FPS ever created.

As a side-note, one of my best buddies has been a console gamer since...well, pretty much forever. He's logged several hundred hours and countless sleepless nights playing MW2/Black Ops. I let him try BC2 on my computer when he came over last week and after ten minutes of playing it he was convinced that he would enjoy it more than MW2/BO, and within half of hour of him leaving my house he had already gotten home and purchased it on D2D and we were playing together. Feels real nice to have "converted" someone to the Battlefield side of things ;)

I love interviews of people who are not in your face over-enthusiastic about their game. This guy shows a lot of intelligence and maturity in this interview and has left me more excited about playing the game then ever before even though it reveals nothing more then we already know about the game. Though with all the pride they have in the sound system I really want to hear how good it will be.

FYI... if Battlefield gets 1 million likes on FB, we get the full trailer early apparently. So... go do that.

When I was at GDC2011, I saw the full trailer with Jets flying around and such. It was 4:30 long. Is this the same one?

The sound system in BC2 is already the best in any video game, ever. Period. If you're not hearing that then you need to invest in better speakers or headphones.

COD on the other hand has had the worst audio in any popular video game I've played for as long as I can remember.

I'd got a decent 5.1 setup...have yet to be impressed by any game as they don't really take much advantage of them it seems...or the levels are too low on them, the surrounds that is. Besides that though, I would agree that bc2 sounds good.

Check your levels then. And war tapes mode, if you're rocking 5.1 The game uses Dolby Digital in some form. I ran it on my PC through a DD receiver and a Dolby Digital Live soundcard to a 5.1 setup and it sounded incredible. Then I played it on G35 headphones, also Dolby tech, and it sounds unreal in home cinema mode. The Vietnam DLC sounds even better, it seems.

I only have a pair of G35 headphones and the game sounds amazing! It makes other games sound like crap lol. But i dont play many others so its ok. Its bfbc2 all the way for me.

Someone click like for me. I dont want my friends to think I'm a nerd gamer :p

haha lets see... your friends play ..... farmville..... you play..... Battlefield 3..... Hmmm. Which one is the true! nerd gamer?

your game is exciting and fast paced

their game is dull and boring.

There are so many gamers out there, theres no point to be ashamed.

They'll be better my friend. Have you seen the videos?
From watching the videos, there's a film of spooge on my monitor that I can't seem to clean off completely. Hopefully it isn't all smoke and mirrors and provides the BF I've been yearning for since '42. My loins are burning with anticipation. Am I alone? :D

BC2 uses cpu accelerated audio since its a console port so your sound cards not really a factor in the audio..

TBH, I think I just have shitty surround awareness. The only time I can really tell surround systems are working are when its really obvious. A great example is Pixar's Cars, the race scene at the beginning with the cars zooming around, sounds great and can really tell. The rest of the movie...cant really tell, including panning audion from left channel across to right channel, I have to break focus from movie and actually pay attention to the sound to notice the difference. This isn't a lack of good hardware, its a lack of good brain...so kind of lack of good squishware I guess..

Hehe, my fiancée is constantly telling me my hearing sucks lol...I'm sure my hearing is in about the same shape as the rest of my body, broken but manageable lol.

don't know if this was posted already. EDIT:Guess I should have scrolled up a few lines lol

DICE has another community challenge going on where the 12 minute Battlefield 3 trailer will be unlocked after 1 million Facebook page "likes". The video is scheduled to be released on April 17, but this has the potential to be released earlier since it is almost half way completed. In addition to the trailer a producer's commentary will also be released.

Battlefield 3 launched its latest Community Challenge today, with the potential to unlock early access to the 12-minute trailer for the Fault Line video series. To unlock it, you must simply head to the Battlefield Facebook Page and “Like” it. Once we get to one million “likes,” not only will we be unlocking the new 12-minute Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer, we’ll also be unlocking a second video, including commentary on the entire 12-minute trailer from Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach, adding some extra tidbits that will otherwise be unheard.

Be sure to head to the Battlefield 3 Facebook page at Facebook.com/Battlefield to help unlock the 12 minute trailer and the producer commentary video asap!
