Think I'll buy the digital copy seeing as I dont even have an optical drive on my rig anymore hah.
No kidding, its bad enough now being sniped out of a helicopter when your waiting for the engines to get up to speed and pick you up off the ground, imagine adding even more predictable motions to it.

Unless there was some sort of immunity during the animation until you're in/out of the vehicle.
As realism compromises go, I think I'd rather just have people "teleport" into vehicles rather than have a realistic looking enter animation during which they are very unrealistically invincible.
Isn't this kinda like saying you shouldn't be able to damage the planter, while planting in CS?
I realize this is a game, but I feel you should be vulnerable when doing things like entering/exiting vehicles, climbing ladders and interacting with the map.
I agree. I'd rather see enter/exit animations and people vulnerable during that time, it's the most realistic possibility. People in vehicles already have a great advantage, seems every other map my team is getting raped by helicopters on atacama, and unfortunately I don't know how to fly nor do I like it.
Easy solution: make the player invulnerable to attacks during the animations.
BF3 Limited Edition is available for preorder on Impulse. Only good news with this is that EA is looking outside of Origin for digital distribution. Still hope for Steam.
I hope they go F2P with this game that would rock.
Thing is that we shouldn't be as worried about EA not putting Battlefield 3 on Steam as much as Steam allowing Battlefield 3 in its library; as that's really the problem right now.
If Steam gets a cut of every game sold through its service, why would they not want to sell what is going to be one of the highest selling PC games of this year?
Maybe 5 years from now...
And on that note, how would that be a good thing anyway? F2P just means the game tries to shovel microtransactions at you. These games aren't free out of the goodness of the developers heart.
I pre-ordered mine from Gamestop in March.BF3 Limited Edition is available for preorder on Impulse. Only good news with this is that EA is looking outside of Origin for digital distribution. Still hope for Steam.
It has something to do with some "violations" or some crap like that with EA using Gamespy Arcade for their multiplayer and Valve just wasn't having it. I'm hoping some sense will be knocked into them and they'll allow Battlefield 3 on there...
Discussion about sniping people out of vehicles above made me wonder - is there any information on the cockpit/canopy glass in BF3? I much preferred the BF2 model where only the Barrett could penetrate the bulletproof glass, compared to the BC2 mechanic where a bb gun can.
Recon just drop mortars with +explosive damage onto tanks, if you're lucky 2-3 of the first mortars get direct hits and the tank dies, since most people camp in tanks it's actually pretty trivial to do.
BC2 has numerous spots where snipers can easily see into the bases, in fact a great deal of the maps in rush, the attacking base's UAV station is visible from the battlefield meaning snipers can actually take out the UAV pilot.
Sure tanks (and APCs) are safe to sniper bullets, but most of the vehicles and gunner positions aren't, all these have snipe-able driver positions:
Quad
Humvee
Vodnik
Cav
Cobra
Truck
Apache
Black Hawk
Havoc
Hind
Jetski
Patrol Boat
BAKHCHA AA (gunner position only)
I'm not worried about being spawn killed by a sniper, it's other people who have made this complaint, more than likely I'll be the person behind the scope, I was a massive fan of sniping in BF1942 and BF2, less so with BC2 due to smaller maps and more known attack spots, but BF3 I'll be all over the sniper rifles, bolt action death from miles away, bunny hopping on the runway while camping for planes isn't going to save you from me![]()
hmmm....to me, what would put the finishing touches on what seems to be a great game, is if they.....GOT RID OF SNIPERS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but judging by the current state of SRAA and FXAA Nvidia will rule the day.

well apparently ingame FXAA is Nvidia's implementation, and I think SRAA could be also.
I didnt even hear that AMD has any plans of SRAA, and Nvidia is pretty deep in it already
was just wondering if any1 knows more on the subject
Yes.
