Rush takes a different kind of skill. I play both Conquest and Rush, and I prefer Rush simply due to the more frantic pace it offers. It's not a matter of stat whoring, it's a matter of personal preference.

And speaking of Choke Points, is it not an indicator of skill that he's able to win rounds when playing on the *ATTACKING* team? It's pretty hard to break out of a choke point, yet he constantly does so.

He's also a great team player. 117 Medical Efficiency Ribbons, 150 Resupply ribbons, 19 M-Com ATTACKER Ribbons (AKA, not standing in Corridors spamming). All you're doing is fixating on the maps he's playing, instead of *how* he's playing. He has nearly 55,000 heals, over a thousand revives, and over a thousand resupplies. Those numbers seem to indicate a pretty strong team player, regardless of what map he's playing.

So would you please get off your high horse, preaching about how you're a "True" Battlefield player because all you do is play 64 man conquest?

Earlier you said that you mostly play 64 man servers so I think your experience of how Grand Bazaar, Operation Metro, Scene Crossing and Damavand Peak play out has been really screwed up because of that. These are really fun maps in 32man rush mode. To be honest I actually prefer playing with even less people like 12v12. Less spam and more skill is involved in getting the win.

What's your in game name? Why don't you add me and play a couple weeks with me before you make judgment and start running your mouth talking shit when you don't even know.

what is your problem, can we play the maps we like.... and lol, at my size if I go to a lan party ,,,,lol , no one will chalenge me , lol
LOL, same here. I'm 6'8" 255lbs and have been lifting weights and running 3 miles a day for the last 6 months. I doubt anyone would mess with me at a LAN either :D

What type of round does the AA fire? It seems to me amazing how much damage it does to the armor of a main battle tank, and how quickly. And while of course it should tear infantry up, it's ridiculously OP at this point in that role if used right. The last set of Mcoms on Noshar Canals rush has the defenders getting an AA...and it just freakin' massacres the attacking team.

I think traditional AA fires like 20-30mm HE rounds but at a VERY fast rate. I am one of those guys that would take the mobile AA and mop the floor with the other team with it like 50-1, but it is so much fun. :D

Maybe it did need a little tweaking, but it got a double nurf this patch. It's less damage and takes more damage from just about everything. There will be even more noobs camping with this thing now by the spawn point instead of out there advancing with armor. :mad:

You can't make an accurate judgment on someone by looking at one nights worth of game history. What you should do is add me as friends and run with me and the other [H] guys, you might learn a thing or to on how to play the game and learn some flanks.

LOL Shiz, what did you do to bring the noob stat critiquer's out of the woodwork? I thought that was my job. :D You must remember though that a lot of online players think the better your stats are (non-cheating/padding of course), the worse the player you are somehow! It's always delusional thought of course to rationalize their own poor stats; but it is entertaining none-the-less.

Yes, they will disappear after 20 seconds. Yo can no longer litter the map with a thousand mines and get skill-less vehicle kills. I am sorry, I am one of those people that thinks an item that literally takes zero skill to use shouldn't be so prevalent and damaging. That brings me to the next quote:

And you will be a much better player for it...

The best fix for mines, in my opinion, would have been this:

Players may now only have a maximum of (x) [5?] mines on the field at any one time. This limit persists after death and all mines are removed if your kit is changed, with exception of same-life kit swaps.

Ya, they should have done it like they did In BC2. I think you could lay out a max of 6 mines total and if you layed out a 7th mine the 1st mine would disappear.
 
Hey I was a big fan of BF2 infantry only servers. I was wondering if there's a game mode similar to that in BF3 and if it's popular. I played during the beta so I know what RUSH is. It wasn't bad but is there a team deathmatch mode without vehicles?
 
2GB patch for PC on Dec 6th. Client and server.

Fixed a problem with spawn timer now showing blue border on startup and lost spawn point
Fixed a problem where player who joined queuing on End of round got spawn screen stuck on screen, but unable to do anything with it untill next round loaded
Fixed a problem where camera would change to 3rd person on killcam when killcam was turned off in server settings
Fixed stat references on several dogtags
Fixed for surveillance ribbon not counting TUGS
Fixed a missing combat area lines on the minimap for Grand Bazaar conquest small
Moved a tank spawn in US base on Caspian Border so it would not be destroyed by a falling tree
Fixed a problem where placing C4 with the russians soldier was playing US faction VO
Fixed a problem where TV guided missiles could be shot into its own helicopter and destroy it
Fixed a problem when attempting to fire lock on weapons without a target
Tweaked the chat, it should now be a bit easier to read

Balance Tweaks:

Reduced heat masking effectiveness of Spec Ops Camo.

Increased the range and FOV for designating targets with the SOFLAM and vehicle Laser Designators.
Decreased the effectiveness of 12g FRAG ammo when equipped on semi-automatic and automatic shotguns.
Slightly Increased the power of Fighter Jet Cannons against all vehicle targets, especially Helicopters.
Decreased the power of Miniguns against Jets and Helicopters.
Increased the power of Stingers against Jets.
Flares reload times for Jets and Helicopter Gunners have been increased.
Tweaked the AN94 so its burst fire better conveys the real world advantage offered by this weapon.
Added Single Shot to the AN94 as an available fire mode.
Slightly increased the recoil on the M416 and removed the Burst Fire mode (this weapon incorrectly had burst fire, which was not authentic).
Tweaked the spawns for TDM on Kharg Island, Grand Bazaar, Caspian Border, Seine Crossing, Operation Firestorm, Damavand Peak and Noshahar Canals
Moved a tank spawn in US base on Caspian Border so it would not be destroyed by a falling tree
Tweaked the Gas station Capture area on Conquest on Caspian Border
Tweaked the max vehicle height on Noshahar Canals

I see nothing that is worse than an "oh well" for me, most (for me, YMMV) are improvements.

I'm pretty sure mines don't de-spawn IRL.

And Bags of Unlimited Ammo Resupplying do not exist in real life. Regardless, balanced game mechanics > realism almost every time (I can't think of an example where they wouldn't be but perhaps someone else can).
 
Got a GTX 560ti 2GB today, turned the settings all the way up... not much of a difference between medium settings. While great, the graphics were not as ground breaking as Crysis was back in 2007.

Most people say the difference between high and ultra are un noticeable.
 
Hey I was a big fan of BF2 infantry only servers. I was wondering if there's a game mode similar to that in BF3 and if it's popular. I played during the beta so I know what RUSH is. It wasn't bad but is there a team deathmatch mode without vehicles?

For infantry only, team death match, North American servers.

For Infantry Only, North American servers (no TDM filter), 15 servers ranging from 24-64 player limits, with 18-64 current players, some with people in queue.

Your's are unlimited? Mine de-spawn after a certain amount of usage...
 
Wish they'd increase the ammo pack capacity a bit. Lots of times a support comes by to drop an ammo pack and it'd be gone before my ammo is full. Sure I've got the ammo+ but the thing disappears just from one guy?

Btw, since the ammo pack keeps running out, does the heal pack have limit as well? I don't think I've noticed one disappear on me yet.
 
Sad Panda...I just went 74-12 in a 64-man rush server....using only the Russian jet...then the game crashed at the end of the round and didnt generate a battle report :( Luckily I still got all the points...it was enough to push me all the way from 7 star jet to 8 star jet and boosted my KDR from 1.66 to 1.68...pretty good shift for a single round when you've got over 5k kills/3k deaths...or somewhere around that range.

Maybe be a bit more specific on what you having difficulty with? Are you literally just crashing right away?

Use WASD+Arrow keys for aircrafts and helicopters, I find it the best.

Ahh sorry, shoulda elaborated. I guess more so it's lack of knowledge on maneuvers and stuff, like turning around fast to get back at someone. I guess all I really need is just practice flying but it's hard to find a server that doesn't have some pro pilot on the other team spawn killing you the second you sit in a plane. I'm probably at 80 hours of gameplay with 10 jet kills LOL. Probably should've played more jet when the game first came out, now the learning curve has gotten sharper.

Edit: here is an example, I was just getting going as a jet, enemy jet gets me but as I watch him he is going so slow i dont understand how he is flying...it seems I have to go 350+ to not fall to the ground.

Maybe the guy who dropped it dies? Don't the ammo packs disappear when you die? I know I never get points from one I dropped before I died, but I guess I never looked to see if it was still there.

You can try unranked servers. They allow 1 player starts. Ranked servers use to but they fixed that. Whats your battlelog name? I would like to try and practice using jets as well. Maybe we can practice on each other. :p
 
Is BF3 worth the 60? I might pick it up if so, I have been gaming on MW3, and just want something more...
 
Every time they update this game it seems to take longer to load into a game, and it crashes half the time whilst loading. The load times are actually ridiculous now, hopefully having an SSD in my future build will speed things up.

For turns, you basically need to throttle down into them, and use the afterburner on the way out for the sharpest turn. If you get better at flying later, you can actually use this to dodge locked on missiles.

A simpler alternative is also to just throttle down for the entirety of the turn, this will produce the smallest radius.

There are some other things newer pilots might overlook. Roll and switch the direction you are banking often. If you just for instance bank left only, it is very easy (relatively) for the other pilot to adjust and just lead and place shots. Also remember flying is very 3D, you can bank up and down, not just left and right. The last thing is to get used to switching to the 3rd person camera during flight, since it offers a larger view of your surroundings.

This is just some basic stuff so hopefully you can get started.
 
I'm getting tired of the bullshit in this game. Killed while behind cover, killed from impossible angles and distances. No in-game ping. Chat box is horrible. PUBs are useless.etc, etc.
