It all just came back up for me.

There needs to be a sniper limit of about 1/10th of the team so about 3 snipers per team on a 64 player map, otherwise you just get noob mountain from BC2 all over again, I don't expect this to change, the only thing you can do is either join them on the hill and just shoot for good K/D and accept your loss, or switch servers, there's simply nothing you can do to prevent it, people are going to do whatever they please even if that dicks over the entire team.
The thing is that the guys lying on the rocks are getting slaughtered. The rocks provide zero cover at this point because the polygonal mesh under the graphic is incomplete. I just Q spot like BC2 and then head-shot them right through the rocks. I bet you three quarters of the campers you see have horrible K/D but they are just tired of getting killed and don't understand the game yet.
Trees > Rocks in BF3 Beta.
A lot of people think that 30 fps is an acceptable framerate for this game and they are delusional. Turn everything off! You NEED 50fps+ to transition between movement and firing as specially with all the vaulting your player has to do. If you stay in one spot in BF3 you will get slaughtered.
I just scored a 48 and 12 on the attacking team with sniper and planted the bomb 3 times. I went from level 25 to 27 in one round. The auto-snipers are god mode with 12x zoom and laser site. I don't use anything else anymore because there isn't any point. I can kill 5 people point blank or half way across the map with the same gun.

Was getting fps in the high 40's on medium settings on the gtx260 and the game felt very laggy and was kinda hard to track onto people quickly.
Now with gtx570, All ULTRA settings, 4x AA-Medium, 16x AF, no motion blur, 1280x960 @ 120hz on my CRT I'm averaging around 95 fps, running at this lower resolution really helps, the gtx570 is around 90% usage, if I run 1600x1200 it's pegged at 100% usage and fps is much lower. That's the nice thing with CRT's they still look great at lower rez with higher refresh.
ULTRA:
65-85 fps outside
100-150 fps inside
It's very smooth and super easy to get kills now, I feel like I have the jump on everyone.
The Class I'm using...
Assault
UMP-45 w/ Red Dot
MP-443 w/ Tactical
Flak Vest or Squad Sprint
Here's last nights games. My play style is rambo, I like to take mcoms...
20-8
34-19
20-10
66-33 ->9974ptsI've never seen anyone break 10k, was super close
57-28
39-14
25-12
18-2
flash light s are too bright in the day time imo. Maybe military flash lights are crazy bright like that but are they seriously that blinding 100 feet away on a bright, sunny day?
Does anyone else miss the little things from BF 2 like the medic telling you, "You'll live buddy, now get back to the fight."
I bet you three quarters of the campers you see have horrible K/D but they are just tired of getting killed and don't understand the game yet.
I have latest beta drivers, asus G74S laptop, 12gb ram gtx 560m slightly overclocked core i7 cpu and at low settings I only get low 40's fps.. It my machine or is does the game run poorly for most? 1920 x 1080 res
** at medium I get high 30's on outside map.
Glad I'm not one of them.

so..Asked a freind while playing Caspian Borders..if there was missles/bombs on the plane..he said nope..so basically..Missles are the 6-7 unlock on the plane..they dont come with them..you only get a gun..whoopdeedoo..I can strafe and maybe shoot down another plane..boring. but then I have to dedicate lots of hours in a plane just to ge tmy Missles, that should be on the plane in the first place.
so basically..the planes will still be for the elite pilots than can dedicate long hours in the plane. us noobs that play the game casually..will not see missles until 100 hours into the game..seeing how unlocks work with kills. I hope its not this way..but its how it looks by the unlock stuff online.
Meh, nice KDR but that coupled with your low points per minute makes me think you're a camper. Pretty easy to get a nice KDR when you aren't risking your neck to cap and disable M-COM's. Your 0.68 win/loss ratio kind of backs the theory up, seems all those kills aren't doing shit to help your team win.
I may only be a little over 1 with my KDR (got off to a rough start until I found a weapon I liked) but I score over 300 more points per minute than you which is due in large part to the fact that I'm constantly planting on (100 points) and destroying (200 points) M-COMS. Also, I'm quite proud of my 2.0 win/loss ratio.
So yeah, nice KDR but honestly I wouldn't be bragging about those stats.

Got something against/to say about campers?![]()

Me too, but I sit back by a tree in some brush or something and let my little eod robot arm the MCOMS. It's damn hilarious to arm one, watch the team disarm it and before they are 2ft away have the mcom rearmed lol. Also if they get too close I use the torch tool to kill a disarmer lol...good times.
It's really a terrible idea because anyone who doesn't buy the game and immediately start flying jets and choppers will be at a huge disadvantage because not only are bombs and heat-seeking missiles unlocks but countermeasures are as well.
So, within a day any pilot new to the game will be going up against people who have heat-seeking missiles to attack with and they won't even have countermeasures to defend against them. All they'll have is a machinegun, they'll get thoroughly dominated, and they won't get in a jet again.
No, those are very respectable stats, it's clear you're contributing heavily to whatever team you play on.
Kuyaglen's stats however, more reflected the average camper, someone entirely consumed by their KDR who's narrow focus is more a detriment to their team than a boon. It's not often that I see a camper who truly knows what they're doing and is really making a difference in swinging the tide of battle to their team's favor. It's clear by your stats you're one of the rare few, congrats.
I am surprised at your accuracy though, I didn't think I'd ever find someone with worse accuracy than me, haha. Did you also have a poor run with the assault rifles at the start of the game? My accuracy is closer to 40% with my weapons of choice, the MK11 and the SVD, but sadly my absolutely abysmal performance with the M16, the AK, and the M14 drag that down quite a bit.
I understand your point, and campers do have a bad stigma, I generally don't knock people's play styles. Rather than the player themselves. Like you say, people who "camp" can turn the tide of battle. Again, like you imply, it's more about intelligence and to add onto that playing smart > pure brute force and skill. Take a scenario in Metro for instance, a sniper staying back in spawn on defender side on top of a high rock taking sniper shots. That guy is a camper, but is also playing passively. He is just playing sniper to gain kills, you could argue, he's defending MCOM sites. But, I have never seen that done efficiently - ever . My tactic as a camper is passive-aggressive. As a defender, I rush the right side wall, picking out strays from the start, work my way right by the attacker spawn and plant a mobile spawn point - then I set up my tent behind the rocks and take my picks. This way I am gaining kills, causing confusion for the other team - taking their focus away from the MCOM and ultimately running their tickets out. I average 20 kills at the first part of the match - that's 20% of attacker tickets by my hand alone. With a K/D of around 2.00. Because I know when to take shots, when to pull back and when to stay in cover.
As for my accuracy, it's low because I pre-fire a lot. Let's say I know someone is behind cover right by a corner, whether because I am battling him or simply because he's been marked. I'll keep him surpressed by pre-fire so that my squad/teammates can rush up and mop him up. On top of that in the subway portion I play as assault and spray a lot
That's exactly how I play, and yet people constantly complain and call me a camper and whatnot.
Edit: SERVERS ARE BACK UP!
score/min also means nothing. I spent alot of time playing around and taking pictures with friends and all my hours in Caspin was to explore and play around (and wait for jets hehe)
I got 810 points for 2 kills in a heli when Caspin was open and the 6th unlcok requires about 20000 points so maybe less than 100 kills will unlock everything, but I think you can only use 1 unlock with the jet (I guess all will use the one that escapes the engineer FIM-92 anti-air rocket)
I unlocked it but don't know how to use it, how do you use torch and arm with it?
As a defender, I rush the right side wall, picking out strays from the start, work my way right by the attacker spawn and plant a mobile spawn point(for me or my team to respawn on) - then I set up my tent behind the rocks and take my picks.
I don't mind campers. I've done my share of it, well and poorly.
I'm getting mighty damn tired of being killed by a corpse 3 areas back though.
I doubt I'll be playing this at release...
So here's my expert sniper tip for all of you.
Don't use any scopes that give off a reflection. Use only the ACOG 4x or the PSO-1 4x scope. Picking off other snipers with these is so easy it's like cheating. They won't see your scope reflection, but you will see theirs. Just shoot for the reflection for a headshot. Other players also won't notice you and you can rack up the kills. It still works just fine at long range. I pick off people I can barely see. You just need to get comfortable with it.
Also, any time you hit someone with your bolt action and they don't die, switch to your pistol and pop off a clip at them to finish them off. I use the silenced glock. It's the best in my opinion.
Trust me. Try it. Now you can camp in peace. Add a nice mobile spawnpoint in case you get killed. When playing defender, I think my best is 14-0 before moving into the subway. It's a lot harder not to die in there.
