From what I read about a current conflict, one side drus their soldiers so hard they might as well be zombies so they got you there.

Waste of money that could go into real content. I don' want to see a billion pop ups each time I load up a game. And I don't want the player base fractured. This is especially bad as it is a paid game, not even freemium.

If I want a zombie game, or a alien game, I would buy games about those things.
 
the Dead Space crossover seems more like something I'd expect to see from the Call of Duty games

And I give those people the middle finger. They're what is wrong with modern gaming. Not the evil publishers, the people who support this. They should take their money and buy one of the dozens of zombie games out there. For the part in bold, that would be impossible. But like I said it should become law. Bait and switch marketing? Fine, but customers should be entitled to refunds for false marketing. Gaming has too little regulation regarding these types of issues and that should change but I doubt it will anytime soon.

You keep saying bait and switch. I don’t think it means what you think it means.
 
All of these extra game modes should just be available full time now with support ending. The game supports bots so no reason you need players to start, but that would be too simple. The fact they still have minimum players required to start a match is a bit of a joke when you have bots that fill the empty slots.

So you would rather sit in a lobby waiting for players so a round can start not knowing when that might happen? This was my last experience before uninstalling. We had something like 30 players and needed 32 to start. Match never started and I just kept alt tabbing to see if it ever formed.

I would much rather be able to play any mode than how they decided to handle it with modes being limited time events.

Unless I missed it you already couldn't pick your map so I am sure I didn't even see them all.

For me, if a multiplayer shooter cannot get enough players, especially with cross play being a thing now, it’s not worth playing.

Well you asked if one would rather wait. The answer for me, is yes and no. I’d rather wait then play with bots but I’d rather play a game that has a large enough base that I don’t have to do either one

They screwed up everything else so I'm curious to see if they have learned anything. May be a sign of the future.
 
If only they would play 200hrs of bf2 and bc2, then just replicate what made those games fun, and actively choose to not include any
 
I have a bad habit of buying the latest BF games and not playing them.
I played the heck out of BF2 and BF2142, a ton of BF3 and BF Hardline, played a lot of the BF4 Beta but then didn't play much when it came out, same with BF1 and BF2042.
I had the most fun playing BF Hardline, but I think most people weren't too fond of that game.

You all remember this? EA Download Manager, this is how you got the BF2 DLC back in the day.

Yup I remember that old EA client before Origin.

Hardline wasn't horrible, but it never should have been a Battlefield title. Some of the modes were good, but then some just made no sense. Maps were pretty good also for MP from what I remember. It always felt like it could have been better if they didn't try to turn it into a Battlefield game after buying it up.
 
Loved the Vietnam expansion pack. I could take a heli ride right now just for the tunes.

BC is for those BF players triggered by vehicles and most explosive weapons. Seriously, DICE could just make maps that cater to the BC fans by removing certain or all vehicles.
 
BF3 and BF4 had plenty of maps with little to no vehicles too, anyway. BC2 was fun but I didn't really miss it when BF3 and then BF4 took over. As long as enough players were around, those games catered to all gameplay preferences, including infantry only.

The Vietnam DLC of BC2 was cool though, do miss that. But had it not been BC2, it could have been even better IMO, with bigger maps and more vehicles (like attack choppers and maybe some planes, for some really interesting asymmetrical gameplay).

BF1 and BF V were fun for a while but never appealed to me as much in the long term, BF4 is always what I wanted to go back to.

BF2042 released in a poor state and I despise some of the regressions, such as the infantry combat being far inferior to BFV with the in-depth and fluid movement system. Why would you cut one of the if not the best feature from your previous game? I haven't even played any other shooter with as fun and fluid movement as BFV (there are probably a few, I haven't played everything).
 
Playing the event this weekend says I only have 2.5 hours in the game reason being I refunded it at launch it was so bad but current content is excellent.
 
I got over 400 hours in on 2042, at first it really sucked with terrible maps and bugs. After numerous patches and map updates and overhauls, it's pretty fun. I'm actually playing with a partially crippled left hand due to neuropathy, but I can still frag with the best of them and land in the top ten usually.;)

BF3 and BF4 generally had a lot of vehicles if you did Conquest Large, and a number of servers had more vehicles and increased spawn rates. The problem with modern BF is you more or less have one set of rules to play by, and their default rules are BS. 1 tank in a blue moon.

Aye the fabled booster packs, which done a good job of splitting up the servers. Had some decent maps but was annoying when you were in a good server and suddenly a map pack map was next in line that you didn't have and ended up getting booted from the server.


Though they still had special forces as a cd, I made the mistake of buying that and only bothered with it on a few occasions, don't think it was all that popular. Plus performance in it was lacking compared to the base game.
