Playing a Skyrim mod called Enderal atm instead of this crap. None of my old buddies play bf1 near as regular as we did BF4 even. Bad sign. Maybe a bit on the weekend is all.

I look at my frriend's list in Origin and only one guy plays BF1. Yea, you're not allowed to post any into that could identify cheaters. The only redeeming feature of BF1 was the sound of martini henry but the gun got nerfed and it's useless right now.
 
useless cuz you can no longer hit a guy in the leg and kill him? thats not a nerf, they fixed it. yah the martini henry is just fine.
 
I'll sit down to play it and sometimes I'll have a session where I'm totally immersed. The next day I'm disliking it so much that I'll sit down to play and just can't bring myself to even launch it. (Even though I want to be playing BF , just not this game)


This game made me realize that for me at least (in a multi-player context), old school is cool, but ancient school is just boring as fuck. I'd define old school as WW2, or Vietnam.

But I guess I just mainly hate the majority of the maps. They are so linear. To me it feels like COD with a few half lame vehicles plopped into it.

It really comes down to how well squads function. I was in a game were a few squad mates had mics and it was great, but that was once since launch.

I think it is more how people are playing these games than the games themselves. Teamwork is a necessary element and only the player base can provide that.
 
The lack of customization aka not official ea servers will kill this game. BF needs Admins and the ability to tweak and mod the game. Horse is done beat into the ground but ea just refuses to give us what we want. They are listening my ass.

What is the current PC player count? I can't see it at work. I would bet it is less than half of launch numbers.

Update on Rental Server Program

Hi all,

Now that the latest Battlefield 1 Game Update 121316 has been released, let’s look forward on what’s on our agenda for future updates.

One of the key areas of focus for us has been the Rent-a-Server feature (RSP). We’re glad to inform you that we are kicking development into high-gear and hope to deliver a variety of requested functions to the feature. Additionally, we look to improve the overall flows on how to find and populate a rented server, and add some more settings for the admin to play with.

Below you will find a brief summary of the functions we are looking to implement in future updates. Please note that this is not a list of guaranteed features. Rather, this is a list of functionality we are investigating and/or developing.

Admin Control Panel
A separate screen you can reach from inside the game where you will find functions such as Kick/Ban along with Ban and VIP lists.

Kick/Ban
You will be able to see a list of all current players on the servers and either kick or ban them. Once banned they will be stored in the Ban List. From there you can unban them or just view the list of all currently banned players.

Ban & VIP Lists
Here, you will be be able to view and edit the Ban & VIP List.

The VIP List is a list of players that will have queue priority (even higher priority than Premium Pass owners). For instance, if you have a clan and the clan members contribute to the server cost, you can add them in the VIP List and they will put into the highest priority queue.

Password Protected Servers
We are looking to re-introduce this setting for Battlefield 1 rented servers that admins want to secure with a password. Setting a password will make the server run "Unranked", so players who join won’t receive any experience, gain medals, or progression of any kind, but they will have all equipment unlocked while playing on that server.

New Settings

Here is a list of some of the new server settings we are looking to implement in future updates:

· Squad Leader Spawn Only
A popular setting from previous titles. We are looking to add this in a future update so server admins can set this on their server.

· Behemoth on/off toggle
A new setting for admins where they can turn off the Behemoth from spawning on their servers.

· Whole Magazine Reload
A setting from previous Hardcore versions. Admins will have access to turn it on or off on their servers.

We are also looking into a re-design of how the server browser displays servers. We currently feel that the DICE Official Servers are washing out all the quality rented servers and making it difficult for players to find their favorite servers.

In an effort to address this, we are looking into giving all rented servers priority in the server browser. This means that rented servers will always be displayed at the top of the server browser.

There are other functions that we are planning for the re-design that we are not ready to talk about just yet. These functions that are in development will make the overall experience to find and join a rented server much easier and making popular rented servers even more visible inside the game.

Should have had at least this at launch. This game is going the way of battlefront. It is just a console franchise atm. Probably uninstalling to make room for a game I will actually play.

I can't get my refund but If I could I would grab two more copies of Overwatch so I could rank faster and higher.
 
Im still having fun with it. I think people just got burnt out because they played it nonstop. I see people with like rank 80+ and im only 29. I like to play it a few times a week to enjoy the chaos and then ill go back to CS or another game.
 
Apparently the M97 Trench Sweeper is the new "go-to" weapon to replace the M-10A hunter. Watch how Matimio consistently reproduces it. It's basically "quick scoping" that is done with snipers but with shotguns instead.

25 hours in, 6 of which are the campaign. I went back to BF4 and enjoyed a round on Lancang. The vehicle play style, amount, long range weapons and the like make it feel like a much more complete experience.

I wonder if it was the same guy, I was getting my ass handed to me last night by the M97 Trench, by the time I would click the mouse I was fucked.
 
Can someone explain how the server browser is supposed to work? Typically when I enter the game I see around 12-16 servers (NA, Conquest filter). If I hit refresh it drops down to around 6, if I hit it again it drops down to 1-2. The longer you play and the more you refresh, the less servers seem to show up. Just got randomly disconnected from a match in Sinai Desert, and was having a good time with the BAR to. Hit refresh and 6 showed up, did not like the maps so I hit refresh again and found a single server. It has happened since I got the game, regardless of the time I seem to play.
 
The server browser is still borked last I read. For example if you are looking for a server with specific settings you have to match 100% in your filters otherwise the majority of the time the server won't show up. You can't seem to do partial matches with filters.

What is the benefit of the quick scoping with a shotgun? Does the zoom in help with spread or something? This is hilarious though. This guy is pretty good but that gun makes him godlike.
 
Why does every server have kill cams on..

Anyone play on any active servers with no kill cam? I filter for no kill cams and i get 0 servers.. are there so few people playing BF1...
 
Bc there is no customization of servers. The game is going the way of battlefront. gg ea

This is pretty funny. Last night, as a complete battlefield n00b, I tried my first shotgun. Not sure if it was the same one. It think it had "backbored" in the name.
Anyway, I completely cleaned house with it. If you're able to flank and sneak up behind the enemy, it's absolutely devastating. I killed groups of 4 before they even knew what happened.
I didn't have to "quickscope" though. I just shot it from the hip. Is there any benefit to quickscoping with a shotgun?
 
it is fun, when your in a squad that listens it helps. Question,. all the battlecrates dropped, do they only ever give skins?
 
You sometimes can get puzzle pieces and xp boosts, I have only ever gotten 3 puzzle pieces, and a few legendary skins.

Filters are pretty broken in the server browser. You are better off asking in the BF1 subreddit or on the official forums.
 
Since buying a battlepack is really just buying a lottery ticket, a game of chance, EA has basically found a way to hold an unlicensed lottery. It's on the edge of legality, imo.

Its not any different than CSGO or Overwatch. Its only going to get worse and more games will start adding similar things because people buy them like hot cakes.
 
BF2 was pimp, never did get the G36-C though. I also miss the ePeen stat signatures we used to have too.

What are typical stats for the gays on here.

Skill level - 350
K/D - 0.99
SPM - 770
KPM - 0.85

?

Given I am at 130-240 pings my stats are pretty bleak.
 
In a game like BF1 the only stats I personally care about are flags capped and defended. Caps I'm in the top 25%, Defends I'm in the top 27%.

Honestly though, I don't PTFO all of the time. /Which basically confirms my suspicion that a YUGE percentage of the player base doesn't really give two craps about flags.

A noticed a few stats which paint a pretty sad picture of BF1 as a team game. 30 repairs put me in the top 21%, 239 revives put me in the top 39%. Which basically confirms my suspicion that the "3 shot to kill" semi automatic medic weapons pretty much killed most people's desire to play medic, since they are at a huge disadvantage against BAR's, Hellriegel's, shotties, and Automatico's in CQB (for the majority of players).

It also tells me that virtually nobody is giving up their ammo crates or mortars to carry a wrench.

/choices game developers make.........sigh........./reminisces about BF2.
 
My k/d is usually 2.0 in conquest and I play the objecrimes not for k/d only.

Typically play conquest 64p 200% damage server.

Playing with a mic increases teamwork dranatically.

My pts per minute is pretty high as I'm usually support or medic dishing out ammo/first aid

I love being support with unlimited grenades
