Bad Idea buddy. That server is overpopulated and filled with noobs.
Not sure if you're aware, but the game was just released. Pretty much everyone is a noob.

^^ thats my concern
AOC seems shallow some reason even though I like it's combat it seems it would get old quick.
Maybe because I already played WoW and MMO's are kinda blah it seems lacks staying power.
ANyone getting close to 60 and find the game kind of... meh? Now before anyone goes "It's your fault for powerleveling through the game's content so fast.", I played a lot the first weekend but I never took a day off or any of that silly nonsense. I played about 3 to 4 hours a day after I'd come home from work and with a group I had no trouble at all completing quests.
I'm about level 58 now and my quests have dried up for the most part. The ones I do have are in a dungeon which is a hot spot for level 80s right now since there are decent drops that can be sold for cash. This particular dungeon isn't privately instanced so between the lv 80 farmers and other groups fighting each other and all that, this place gets old fast. The only other option you have is to do the old school grind which I really can't take anymore.
And as for when I actually get 60? Well, it gets way worse I'm told.
Turn off 3d occusion mapping, and the texture collision problem should go away. At least thats what solved it for me.
The texture collisions were helped quite a bit by turning that off, but the poor texture rendering and lighting/color issues I have in some areas are still present. These issues are even present in SM2.x and SM2.0 modes. It's the 9800GX2's drivers I think. I've got a friend with an 8800GTX, and my girlfriends machine has an 8800GTX, and none of those machines have the issues that I do with the graphics. However clipping issues and bugged quests still abound for all.
I have the same problem as you as well, and I'm on an 8800GT, what drivers are you on? I'm using 174.74
I would like to get this game but I have a few concerns. First off WoW was the last MMO I played and that was 2 years ago so I'd more then likely be a relearning the MMO experience . Second my computer isn't exactly up to date so I don't know if I could even play with the rig I have now. Finally I don't want to be playing a game that forces me to group up to do quests i enjoy soloing sometimes
computer specs are
P4 @ 2.9GHz
1.5 GB Ram
7600gt
plenty of harddrive space
Do you guys know of where I could aqcuire a buddy key or something of the sort? I've been a long time WoW player but AoC is really starting to pique my interest.
I have to say the only issue I've experienced so far is the occasional disconnect and version mismatch.

One of the interesting observations I made while playing is that unlike WoW, where each area was set for a certain lvl, with AoC it's hard to tell what lvls are for you. Once I got out of the starter town, I went to my "home city" and took some but not all quests, some of them required me to travel to other places, which had additional quests, which required me to travel further.
Last time I checked, the buddy keys aren't being released to the public yet.
Yeah its rather interesting how some of the quest in the starter town (Old Tarantia) send you all over the place before you even know your way around the town itself. I think the trick is simply NOT to accept any quests in the far away places. Just run back to Old Tarantia and keep doing those quests, eventually you are forced to go to Wild Lands/Tesso, then you can pickup everything there and its an appropriate level.
So far so good, Age of Conan seems to be behaving just fine for me up to this point.
Great client performance, no patching problems, no crashing / instability problems.. even my server's performance is good (and not overcrowded or anything crazy). I have to say, I think this is one of the more (not most, but more..) smooth MMO Launches that I've seen in quite a while. ESPECIALLY for Funcom, given their previous launch was Anarchy Online and it was a disaster.
Honestly I've been real impressed with the number of "break-fix" patches that Funcom has already released.. and we're not even a week after launch and they are already trying to address balance issues. While someone could complain that there is lots of "server downtime" from patching.. there are worse problems to have in an MMO.Now we just need funcom to start patching in the content.
We know right now people are feeling like all armor in Age of Conan is the same and brown. I assure you this is not the case, for along time now we have had a "GM area" where we spawned lots of NPC's that had all sorts of armor appearances so we could tell when art was completed. Anyway to cut to the chase I took your guys concerns and shot an email to Ole Herbjornsen our Lead Designer to ask about Itemization. If they add new quests for 50 and up levels and fix and complete the crafting before the free month is up (next 2-3 weeks) FC will put themselves in a very good position. This imo is their window of setting a lasting good first impression. I say that because of WOTL and Warhammer are just waiting to seize a missed opportunity if FC drops the ball on this.
I dont think one month is enough time for them to fill out 45-80 with quests. Yes I ran out of quests at 45, I have nothing but repeatable grind quests left, which suck because thats all anyone else has too so the spots are camped. I just started playing mass effect instead and am thinking of canceling until they game stops sucking![]()
That would increase the leveling speed by about 400% at later levels, and also screw anyone who had already completed the quests. Perhaps making all kill related quests repeatable would help, instead of just the wanted posters.
Just to make sure, AoC is a monthly based subscription game right?

This might sound dumb, but higher level armor is just uninspiring, and kinda doesn't make me wanna level. I know the game is more realistic then most, but I do like the armor model of WoW; although, over the top they just look cool to me.
