True, true... the guy told me they only get in around 10 per day, so I think that might explain why their processing time seems to be so 'slow'. I may order today and Monarch may not even get in 'my' processor til Monday.
 
OMG...the coupon code expired?! No way!! Right when I was placing my 2nd order. ;) I guess it wasn't meant to be.
 
woohoo, my chip arrived and it's a 0608

again, i ordered on 4/2, shipped on 4/4 and arrived today.

All I need is to set up my WC and I'm ready to OC.
 
What is this 0608 i keep on hearing about? Now that the 146 isn't such a great deal anymore since the coupon is dead, i'm looking at the 165.

If I don't get this "0608" thing, what else could I get and how does that differ?

i just installed my opty 165 from monarch 0608mpmw. ordered it two last weeks ago, never got around to installing till yesterday. in the process of moving but anyways...
running at 2.83ghz

this is after 4 opterons finally got a sweet one.
screen shots to come, if the 165 is still a 0608mpmw you should definitely get it. my friend also got his to 2.8 with only 1.375v
 
No one is really pushing the 0608MPMW to it's full potential! I got it priming at 3.1 Ghz... you just gotta keep it cool and it will keep going. 2.8 Ghz is almost wasteful, any 0551UPMW can do 2.8.

My advice: watercooling!

how did you get yours so high, what voltage, what fsb, whats your htt, give me full settings. only using air cooling. dont want to deal with tubes and water.
using a ninja pro.

I'm waiting until I put my new dual rad in my loop. :( That's what's holding me back, especially when mine can do 2.85GHz dual prime @ stock vcore. :cool: 3GHz+ is where I'm going.

but i want to test the CPU and make sure it works at all before i completely void the warranty :p

My RMA came today. Shipped on 4/4 and arrived 4/6. It is a CCB1E 0608MPMW.

This replaces the defective CCBWE 0546MPMW I initially received on 3/17. The RMA process was pretty straightforward and took about a week, which is pretty decent considering I am on the other side of the country.

I was going to order a couple days ago and for whatever reason, I didn't.. But, I did get one by today. It might have been the last coupon for 165's too heh. I'm soo hoping I get one of those 0608's but I doubt it. I'd like to get a CCB1E if anything. Next time more coupons come up, I'm going against my conscience and buying. :mad:

someone posted this over at the slickdeals forum. even says shamelessly swiped from hardforums or something like that in it. it has everything in it. sooo... you might be getting more ppl using these soon than you'd hope for.


if you don't care, that's all fine and dandy, but please, please don't kill this for all of us if you do care. would it be possible to do something like disable these coupons, and PM you for one-time use codes or something like that?

i was planning on getting a processor in about a month, when i'm gonna b able to finally put together a system, and was counting on this deal being around. but now that it's been posted on slickdeals... :(


btw, the guy's sn on slickdeals is Evo-IC (I as in capital i), not sure if he has the same sn here.
 
I ordered a Opty 165 from Monarch as well on 4-4. I live in Alabama about 6 hours by car from their location. Also ordered a v100B+ so I went for the ground shipping and I was seeing on the website that delays were in order for the 165's and 170's so I thought wth ground will be ok. Checked on it this morning (4-7) and not only did it ship the next day but is on a truck for delivery to me today WOOO HOOO! I don't have it in my hands yet but I am expecting a 0608 because everyone else that shipped this week is getting one :) .. will let you guys know what it is when I get my mitts on it :)

Just got the Opty 165 in .... BOOO it is not a 0608 it is an 0604 :( Anyone have any experience with that core?
 
When did you order and when did it shipped? I'm hopping for a 608 as well.....

This tells all 3 posts up. :( I dont see any reference to this core (CCBWE 0604) anywhere on this forum maybe I will have good luck with it ... but I gotta tell you I was really looking forward to a 0608

Maybe different doesn't mean it's a bad thing. No one has said anything about it yet; especially no complaints heard about it.

How about you be our info on that 604 eh? ;)

how is the 0604 - are you having any luck with that proc. post some screen shots, let us know. i just ordered another one hoping for a 0608, but i guess no luck.
 
Oh crap. :eek: :eek:

I just placed my order for a 165 yesterday, while the coupon was still active. I am praying for a 0608... but after hearing about someone getting a 0604, I have a feeling that they are all out of the golden sample chips so most people will probably get this stepping instead.

Heres to hoping that the 0604 makes the 0608 look like a chump :confused:
 
you never know as its just the luck of the draw, when the rest of you guys were getting 0608's I ended up with a 0606, just because a 0604 showed up doesn't necessarily mean anything, ntm it could clock better than all of them, my 0606 does 2.8 on stock voltage btw
 
It is the luck of the draw.

Last month, I brought Opty 144 with CACJE 0602gpmw stepping from Monarch that could do 2.83 ghz at stock voltage. One week later, I pressed my luck and brought another to replace a so-so Opteron 165 . I ended up getting a stepping of CAB2E 0551. It went backward. That proc can only do 2.65ghz @ stock

So I decided to get another 144 off ebay with clearly specified CACJE stepping. Guess what, that proc can only do 2.7ghz at stock.

I went on and sold the Opteron 165 and that 2 144's, each at a slight loss. Finally my luck turned, and I ended up getting this new Opteron 165 with the CCB1E 0608MPMW stepping.

Now I am in procession of a 144 CACJE 0602 doing 2.83ghz at stock and a Opty 165 (CCB1E 0608 ) that can also do 2.8g at stock.

I think I will stop here. It is the luck of a draw.

the 0606 was a ccb1e 0606vpmw
