Amd has released their RAM Disk software. I run a socket 2011 with 32GB of RAM but adding 32 more is like pennies at todays prices.

It looks except I do not have AMD ram I have Corsair and I am not sure if I will be able to test this. Can anyone out there let us know how this software performs on the I/O and IOPS levels?

I posted in this forum because technically it is ram but it has to do with data storage and SSD like performance, well 100's of times faster than SSD based on the system etc...

From the looks of it you can make a Ramdisk up to 4gb without any AMD products.

AMD memory only moves the free disk size up to 6gb. If you buy the software, you can use whatever memory. :D

It looks like it's just a rebrand of Dataram's ramdisk product - looks nothing new TBH!

You have to consider that memory used by a ramdisk can't then be used as memory cache by the OS - unless you have a lot of spare memory, you could end up reducing overall system performance!
Can be good for things like games though - especially if the game pauses regularly while it loads data in from disk......

Billy's right its OEM'd from Dataram, its been available for quite a while, and its mostly junk/gimmick.

Right on the first page it says you can use any RAM to make a 4GB disk.

I see no difference between this and any other RAMDisk program except it's cheaper if you use AMD RAM.

Kinda like a marketing ploy. :)
