Because Apple's suppliers never go out of business (often because of Apple). Wait... Nevermind...AMD isn't competing at the high-end or enthusiast right now, but that doesn't mean they're dead. We already know they won Apple's business with Polaris, and they'll be in three console refreshes in the next year! While they aren't doing anything sexy for us PC gamers, AMD is far from out.
I wish they would soft launch on the first especially if they have something good to show us.....IF everyone absolutely knew Polaris 10 will match the 1070 for 50 bucks cheaper price, I think a majority people would highly consider AMD over nvidia this go round. The fact they dont almost worries me....They should can Lisa T. Su regardless.....Im not impressed with her at alllol just playing the odds, gotta be at least that , too early to know what the performance will be we will have a better idea once Polaris is out though.
It's still possible the meeting was just buttering-up, some powerpoint slides, and handing out hardware, and polaris will be hard-launched at Computex in 3 days. Unlikely, certainly, but possible.
NDA date could be deliberate misdirection.Launch is on 29th of next month or after, whats the use of having an NDA if ya are going to launch before hand
There are quite a few of us at Macau.
Few hundred folks, but it's computex so it's quite busy. The editors day took place today and is still ongoing. (28th) Also I can ensure you that no editor is going to leak any information before the NDA lifts. There are heavy fines, possible jail time (ya it's serious) and it breaks the trust you build up with these companies.
Official announcement is May 31st 10pm EST. NDA expires on the 29th, for some products. Enjoy the wait.
Honest question, is anyone really excited about these? It's already pretty well known that these aren't the high end products. I wasn't even that thrilled by the 1080. It's looking more and more like I won't have serious upgrade path until the 1080 Ti, whenever that drops.
This picture confirms two things: The new GPUs will be the "400 series" (not sure if AMD officially confirmed the name until now)... And the "480" exists.wow so new radeon can connect to monitor ?
so exciting

I feel like a broken record but if Polaris doesn't give an upgrade path for 390 and 970 owners, it will be viewed as a huge disappointment among all PC gaming communities.Probably a majority of the general PC gaming audience is excited for these; most people on this forum aren't because they are part of the "enthusiast" niche that are willing to put down $500+ for a card. The $200-$300 price point is the sweet spot for most people and it appears that is exactly where these cards will land.
Agreed, if AMD wants to keep its current customers, they really should have something that current 290(x) / 390(x) / Fury owners would want to upgrade to.
Yeah, I've always viewed the [H]ard games as the current 'demanding' titles that are popular today. It makes no sense to review cards using games that most people don't play. [H] uses game that the majority play and hopefully they continue to do so.

I'm surprised that Ashes of the Singularity is even entertained by [H]. Its a benchmark with a built-in game.

Doubt it, why have a NDA on June 29th if there will be a hard launch at Computex in 3 days.

That argument doesn't hold with Dying light and didn't 1 year ago. For the most part yes they do use the newest games. But you have to take a step back and understand the other point of view. The majority of the games were and are GW titles. Why didn't they have Ryse or Dragons Age being a year ago they were fresh and new. At least Dragons Age was a fair bit bigger in popularity than Dying Light. Anyway, it isn't too hard to see the issues some have and why their argument is valid. I don't really care personally. I just look at how the card handles those games, more in a scientific matter of progress rather than some argument in futility as to who is King of the World. Honestly the biggest difference to the common man between a 980Ti and a FuryX is the name as experience in general is nearly Identical as 3-10 fps means jack.It makes no sense to review cards using games that most people don't play. [H] uses game that the majority play and hopefully they continue to do so.
