AMD Fury Overclocking vs nVidia

Amazing? for a liquid cooled card?

Now this is amazing

The MSI GTX 980 Ti LIGHTNING’s boost clock was 1404MHz after overclocking, which increased to 1518MHz. It’s memory was slightly higher at 8.1GHz

at least is so much better than the 100mhz it did before.

Fury is the air cooled card. ~15-20% OC on the Fury is pretty good. You have to remember the 980ti boosts to around 1200 out of the box, so it should be looked at in % vs %.

Here's one of my Titan X's at 1487 MHz: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9331050 Some of the guys with the 980 Ti's like the Amp Extreme! w/custom vbios probably hit 1600 MHz and should get even higher scores than me.

Edit: Compare score for those interested: http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/6104547/fs/6521300 Keep in mind the system w/the Fury got a boost w/that 5960x, his overall + physics would be lower if he had the same processor as me.

A 200Mhz overclock is still pretty damn good. The 900-series is exceptional, but that hasn't always been the case.

Does OP know that those 1200+ furies are hard-modded for more voltage and likely under sub-zero cooling?

Using Sapphire TriXX people are getting amazing overclock results on AMD fury cards.

Can someone post their VALID 980ti max OC single GPU results? im interested in comparing.

Useless without knowing how it was overclocked. Can I buy a Fury off the shelf and achieve similar results on air or CLC, or does it require a huge investment in subzero cooling?

No... Those got up to around 1450 IIRC.

Looks like the sapphire tool and maybe afterburner is allowing voltage and HBM ocing finally. These are OCs on a normal card. Now there's a reason for Brent to do a OC vs OC review. Well not really because we know how it'd turn out, but at least the AMD cards have a decent OC now. :)

Sorry, didn't read ligtasms whole post, I thought you were talking about newer results on air.

:) Just a forum! Hah.

I am glad to see AMD unlocking the cards. Still not quite as good as Maxwell but at least they should be in the ball park OC vs OC.

The Fury X is really quite competitive at 4k. The shite AMD driver team is the problem.
