gotta have some stability proof with that...

* 1st line of OPN = ADA3700DAA5BN
* 2nd line of OPN = KABYE 0536GPMW
* Maximum *STABLE* overclock = 2800Mhz
* voltage used for that overclock as set in bios = 1.525v
* cooling type = AIR xp90 92x30mm fan, (med)

I've got Prime stable 2.7 ghz at 1.5 volts with my Athlon X2 4400. Is this unusually good, or does it seem on par with what other people are getting?

I can't go higher because 1.5 volts is the max my A8N SLI Premium will put out... plus it loads at 54 C right now which is already way too hot.

Here ya go final Overclock with total stability proof :) hell this thing might even scale more we'll see tho lol

Update - 17 hours Prime Stable Pic

cpu= 2.8 @ 1.520 Vcore; 1.55 in the bios damned undervolting board :rolleyes: (312x9)
mem= 255 @ 2.78vcore 2.5-3-3-6 166 divider
Temps= 30c idle - 46c full load
Stepping/Week= CCBWE 0547TPMW

I've been playing with my X2 3800 from Dell...

X2 3800 - LDBHE 0601XPBW
Abit AN8-Ultra
1024 MB Corsair Gold
EDIT: Cooling is a Thermalright SI-120 and adjustable fan.

20+ hours Prime95 stable on both cores. 1.35 (but my board also overvolts by at least .02v) was good to 2.7ghz.) Currently have it set to 1.425 and that was good enough for 22 hours of Prime95 at 2.8ghz. My problems seem to be keeping the PWM temps down, and my board doesn't want to run 1T command rate at such a high clock.

9x300fsb for 2.7ghz with only putting on 1.3625 volts in the bios!!! when I am priming its at 1.376 because asus overvolts a little. here is screenie for proof guys (Sorry bout the size guys, just didnt feel like resizing) Its a week 50 but i lost the paper with my steppings.

Nice overclock! That is some chip you got there.

yeah the only problem is that it doesnt want to go any higher, 2.8 is a no go which is weird, but eh oh well right now I have it running with the hyperthreading set to 4x for 1.2ghz. This asus board is pretty badass.

Try running a divider and bumping up the voltage. You should be able to get far above 2.7 if you got there on stock volts.

Editastic: Sounds like you are board limited at 300HTT. Try clocking at the full multi to get the most out of your cpu.

So, I got my Opteron 148 up to 272x11 last night and it ran prime for...5 hours and 45 minutes. So very close.

It is a

Opteron 148
CAB2E 0547 GPMW
272x11=2999 (per MyGuard, Clockgen and CPU-Z)
1.58Vcore on quality air (Zalman 9500)
Hovered around 54c (ran overnight)

I'm going to go for 271 tonight if I have to - that is if you won't accept my entry as is. Dammit, I want to be the first CAB2E 0547 in the book and lord knows I wanted to hit 3GHz easier. Now I know why some of you guys collect different steppings like merit badges, this OC thing is addicting.

Alright, I pulled it off, requiring no less than 1.6V. I know, I know, not smart, but temps never broke 56c.

To reiterate:

Opteron 148
CAB2E 0547 GPMW
272 HTT = 2999Mhz (can we say 3Ghz? Sweet.)
Prime stable 7+hours, Memtest passed (3-3-3-7-2T)
1.6Vcore
~55C

Put it on the board!

I have a Biostar TForce6100-754 and in the BIOS I cannot change the CPU multiplier. In the "Over Clock Quick Guide" that came with my motherboard it does mention it and it even shows a picture with the option in it. However, when I look it is not there. It is not greyed out or anything, it just isn't there. It is supposed to be listed as "Hammer Fid Control."

BTW, I have a Sempron 2800+.

whats wrong 1.6v? I dont see a problem with ti as long as the temps are under control....

and why am I not on the board? am i missing something?

Upping voltage reduces lifespan of the processor. But this is, as you mentioned, primarily due to heat. That being said, I don't have 100% confidence in MyGuard reading my temps right (say 98% sure) and I just don't see the value in running a processor at 115%+ voltage for very long, not without truly upgraded cooling. If I could run 1.6V and stay below 50C? Well then we'd be singing a different tune.

So yeah, how come the board hasn't been updated in a while, and now I can't even see the tables here at work (picture links are over monthly bandwidth)?

hmmm, indeed they say it reduces the life of a givin CPU, but form what? 20 year to 4 years? lol

I never have a CPU more than 8 months anyway... at most...

I did run a AXP moble 2600+ @2.8Ghz or 2.9Ghz 2.2v for over 8months and didnt have a problem with it, I then put it in a server running 2.5Ghz 1.9v and its still runn to this day, over a year! approachin 2 years run time... thats some good stuff..

I think he meant, bad as in good... yeah, that's the ticket. he just forgot the "to the bone" part. ;)

Processor posts at 2.9 but is prime unstable. Havnt fed it anymore voltage for fear of high temps. All I can say is WOW, what a fantastic purchase! Exstatic over my OC results :)

you're all missing the steppings and didn't go up. the database has been updated, those of you who are still not up, post again and feel free to hit me or something...
however, this excludes winchesters. they're a thing of the past, almost a year old now.. nobody cares anymore :D

yea, the spreadsheets are back up...thanks eclipse...
people sometimes forget that you do have another life (that of a student) besides here....
I will soon post my new opty 170 settings and overclock....almost there...

hey afi :cool:

thanks magnu. hopefully i can get back to updating it.. a touch more frequently than i used to. i really should try to work out something that's easier, but oh well. :(

Opteron 144 CAB2E 0546 UPMW
2740 mhz @ 1.5V on XP-90 with high speed 92MM Panaflo

CPU-Z

Stable during multiple 8-16 hr sessions of Prime95 small FTTs. I'll have to dig up a SS later if I even took one otherwise I'll just retest to take one.

Memory timings are set to auto in the BIOS...just noticed they're not at 2-3-2-5, but it probably won't make a difference (still at 1T command rate anyways and the memory is unclocked just a tad).

Haven't extrensively tested 1.55V yet, but I plan to eventually.

Im confused. Just looked at this after a loooooooong time, and it seems that everyone with my stepping and close to my week are getting 2.8ghz or more. I have an 0527 UPBW, tops out a little below 2.5ghz. You guys thinkit could be my board? Im running an A8N SLI Premium right now... I have a dead Ultra-D in my closet, think I should RMA the damn thing (finally) and give it a shot?

OK here is mine. Opteron 170

OSA170DAA6CD
CCBWE 0550UPMW

Stable prime 95 overclock: 2.9Ghz
Voltage used: 1.6V (will do 1.58V but keep at 1.6V for insurance)
Cooling method: Watercooling w/ Storm block
Load temp: 45C ambient 24C.

Hi all,

Well, finished up building my rig last Friday..starting overclocking Saturday. I'm pretty happy right now with what I have..500 mhz over stock without bumping up voltage. Everything has been pretty stable so far..I have not run Prime for 12 hours but all seems pretty well.
Opty144at2300.jpg

temps have not broken 42C during Prime.

Opty144 @ 2.3 ghz
1 gig corsair ram
Geforce 6800GS
ASUS A8N5X motherboard
FSP 400 watt power supply
80 gig hard drive (for now)

Well, it definitely -could be- :) maybe your mobo's cpu power has small tremors in it which are preventing a good OC? perhaps... I know the DFI boards usually have nice steady cpu power which is why peeps like them for OCing.. I reckon. You should at least RMA the board and give it a whirl. :)

Possibly...but then again I get 2.74ghz on a Gigabyte (sucks). *shrugs*

Whats the HTT on the board top out at?
