A64 OC Database & Overclock Guide

I have a Week 18 05 4800+ and I have yet to find a stable OC above stock settings. My rig is listed in my sig btw. I have tried 1.55v vcore at 270X10 with HTT at 3X using Ultra-D Bios 702-3. I cannot get anything stable at all not even 2.5Ghz. Although my CPU load temp was 65C and my idle was 49C at 1.55v

Someone suggested I might have the Retail HSF installed backwards? Has anyone else seen this happen? I thought I wouldn't be allowed to install it backwards, but with these temps I can't think of anything else?? I am going to check it when I get off work tonight.

Prime 95 stable at 2700MHz at 1.5 Volts.
I have found my restrictions to be my powersupply and my motherboard settings. Cant really afford a stronger powersupply but I have heard that by directly connecting my 20 pin power connector to the MoBo rather than through a 20-24 pin adapter will give better voltage control. Could try it. Motherboard only supports up to 300HTT in BIOS so that is my other problem. Other than that it ran at 40C and idles at 29 with my zalman cooler. Not right sure if I could break 2800 with another .1V on the core but could.

I just got one more for my sons system.

with it being prime stable for 5 hours...

When i get a chance i going for the 3ghz mark....btw this is all water cooled... :D

I will give more specs later

here is a pic

OK.....24 hours and passed without FAIL...everything rock soild stable.

10x280 on a San Diego 3700+

I will update later tonight the steppings and timmings.

But here is a pic for your viewing Pleasure.

Sorry for the large size. :p

i have a bit of a problem... my cpu can reach 2.6+ (my htt link is holding my cpu back)

my htt crashed at a max of 290 but runs stable at 285
i can run stable with my multi at 9x (3000+ venice) but only if my ram runs at a 1:0.5 (1:2 for everyone else maybe?) divider

if i bring the ram up even a little to a 133mhz divider i can't boot into windows without lowering my htt link down to 265..

i don't understand why i am unable to run my ram at it's rated settings with my cpu overclocked

Have not installed CPU yet, but recording ID numbers so I'll have them when I do.

Did some overclocking this weekend:

Venice 3200+ 0516EPEW
2500 MHz 10x250 1.50V
Xp-120 cooling
ASUS A8N Premium

Grr, now I hate Asus, fricking voltage cap. My Venice has so much untapped potential. It will boot windows and do general office stuff at 301x9 1.584vcore. But it fails prime95 in under a minute.

Still testing, put me at 2500 for now.

Current prime test:
2555MHz
319.4x8
1.584vcore

Increasing voltage didn't help much.

What I don't understand is these guys results:

So good, but mine were so bad :(. Here is the thread I made about it:

Look at the overclock on the Data chart. Hrmmm, both our 3700's have sub-par OC's, both the only chips with CABGE Stepping and MPMW! What a shocker! I think we've discovered a possible trend here. Lets wait and see if any other shoddy OCs come from MPMW... Welcome to the rarity of OCing duds from the 3700 Sandy's.

Sorry (cf)Eclip i was out of town for the weekend....i gotta take my water block off tonight and check it for you.

Will update tonight asap.....like in 30 min from this post hehe :D

There you go.........and i am testing 2900 right now btw...but so far 10x280 is stable with 1:1 ram.

I will release timmings after i do this 2900 test. :D

I can't believe no one yet has an 0521 Venice... could I be the only one? :p

This is an old screenshot. But I'm at work. I'm now stable at 2500 1.45V, no noticeable increase in temps. This screen shows 2350.

CPU has a lot more to offer, I'll voltmod my A8N next week if rolling back to a pre-capped voltage bios version isn't stable.

Hey I decided to go for a little more... kinda pushing it, seeing as I'm still with the lame stock cooler till my aquagate comes in. But I'm actually very happy! Got another 100mhz and got the memory up another 8 mhz or so too! Here's the skinny! :D So can you update me again?

P.s. I only primed for little less than 2 hours, but temps never went over 51, and it was stable, it's good enough for me.

[Edit] How about a run of 3dmark2005 ;) Ok ok, I'll set up prime before I hit the sack. Here's the 3dmark 05 compare URL Score = 4806

No biggy...i got a spare one..but i won't be able to get pics till after i reinstall windows..but a good thing is 10x290 is installing windows VERY quick.... :D

i should have somthing by either tomorrow or by the end of the week

It ran all night Eclipse... you know before I ran it, I found the options in the bios to make sure the fan stays on 100% all the time, not just when it reaches a certain temp... jeez, makes my temps look a lot better!

Maybe tonight I'll go for 2700!

(Update)

Well i found out my problem with my machine...it wasn't the Drive..it wasn't the mobo. It's not the CPU or the ram....it was the smallest thing one would forget and take 2 days to change out....

a fucking sata cable went bad......OMFG I WANNA SHOOT MYSELF.....but everything is working fine at 10x290 :D

I had that happen a few weeks ago, I guess they don't like doing a 180 degree turn in a 1 inch space. :)

hey eclipse i got somthing interesting for you....my friend bought an x2 4400 and the default vcore is 1.28v!! Next month im building a watercooling system for him and we should be able to get you some oc results

you mean 1.3v, and the mobo undervolts a bit ;)

and sorry for being slow with my updates guys :p

It's ok....

Put me down for 10x280 stable...10x290 i almost have stable..but i can't quite get it...
i fail prime everytime about 6 to 8 hours in ;)

Edit:

(Update)

I have found a differnt way to oc to 2800...it seems stable here to...i am doing prime through the night..it's 11x255. Also it seems a tad bit faster for some odd reason :D

Edit #2:

(Update)

I got a new clock spec going...and i have been stable for 5 hours 11x260

You know, I'm starting to question my overclock results on my hard drive and the onboard sound blaster live. Tomorrow I'm gonna make a partition on a different drive, disable the sound blaster live, and see if I can overclock at ll. If I can.. I'll turn on the SBL. My cpu is crashing with errors that dont make much sense, and mostly deal with the page file, or win2k.sys. Results tomorrow afternoon.

Well here is my so far crappy OC, I am still fiddling with settings, and I am on stock cooling but I am nevertheless dissapointed.

ADA3200DAA4BP
LBBLE 0519CPIW

Voltage : 1.52V
Cooling : Stock
Max Stable OC : 2400 (240x10)

That is prime stable overnight for ~11 hours. When I go up to 2.45 it fails after an hour or two, and 2.5 or higher fails after minutes. I have tested it at 266x8 to rule out the memory and that was just fine, memtest found no errors. So it seems like I might have just gotten a bad chip. Once I get watercooling I will see if that changes anything, and I planned on upgrading to dual core in a year or so anyways.

ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0517APQW

Currently @ 2808Ghz with 1.6v with a koolance AL to cool it all down

I know i can get more from this chip but the BIOS's for the MoBo are so F*cked up right now this is all i can get stable

i have a 32mill super pi @ 2.83 but i run the computer everyday at 2.81 because i dock with it for the XS D2OL team.

I have not run any prime95 but i have been docking for 2 days strainght now @ 2.81Ghz so i think it is stable, and the memory is barley oc at all because i wanted tight timings.

My setup is: *for everyday use*
DFI NF3 ULTRA -D
A64 3000+ @ 2808
BFG 6800GT
2 x 512mb OCZ platinum Rev.2 (2-2-2-5)
