Since the thread is not dead I cant wait on a 7990 to be honest. Since my 6990 is already beast I figure that a 7990 will just be beaster!

Can anyone with these cards comment on a multi-monitor desktop with a 7970?
I saw reports they were adding options for taskbar placement and other improvements.

I read those enhancements won't be out until Catalyst 12.2 or end of feb

No card is endgame till it can max settings at 120 hz minimum.

I've found out something weird about amd on a forum, don't know if this is true but... they are kinda cheating on their benchmark.

I'll explain the situation:

You can benchmark with fraps (I think it was fraps) and graf the frame rate over the time. By the pic he posted you could clearly see that the Frame rate spread was off, AMD's where high and low fps while Nvidia had them on a less bigger spread.

This result of you playing at X fps in average but really feeling the game not that smooth compare to Nvidia... Kinda like if you had a really low min frame rate, and a really low maximum frame rate so that make the game play less smooth than the average due to the "dips" while playing (dips happening so fast you can't notice but still there)

Wonder what's your thoughts on that? I'm no expert but still...

That is old. Nvidia cheats to on benchmarks just google it all. Besides benchjmarks are for ppl who don't own the hardware and have no idea how the card "performs" in games. The bottom line is the 7970 maxes all games out at 1920x1080 and that is the VAST MAJORITY of gamers. It can also easily play on ultra 5760x1080 BF3. It is the fastest card on the planet and will be for along time. When OCed it blows away the 580 and with drivers in their infancy this card will get ever faster.

Nvidia fanboys hate hearing this and it makes them want to cry but no one gives a dam when they cry.

I can't believe this thread is still going.

No card will EVER be "endgame". Technology always progresses to faster things.

It's not even worth a discussion.

AMD fanboys will fuel this and NVIDIA fanboys will fight back lol

This thread will never die...maybe when kepler comes out

Dude, give it a rest. They are talking about you - you're the fanboy that is keeping the thread alive.

This is with 3x 580 right? 3D sounds awesome. How does AMD stand up to Nvidia? I have always had problems with more thamn one gpu. I love the smoothness of one

Been running these three 580s for 14 months. I don't know what issues you've had or seen with multi-GPU but I've certainly had very few with this setup.

nVidia, AMD...it makes no difference. There is no "end-game" card, period. It's a worthless point to try and argue.

Though it's clear now by your post that you're trolling. It's just sad that 5 pages later and people are still arguing about it.

I brought a little end-game of my own. I think this has gone on long enough. ;)
