4870 @ the Egg

damn that cooler is fugly
Thanks for the heads up, though

lol I added 2x to my shopping cart now it is gone O_O

$309 as the first posted price is awesome! NVIDIA's cards will plummet soon.

Sweet.

The only problem is that it is above MSRP.

I have heard rumors that once supply is low, they will jack up the prices to the $320-$350 mark.

The thread title says "4870" @ the Egg
You had me going.

It says 4850 now but the pictures show 4870.
Specs show 4850.

I wonder if NewEgg will get in trouble for the pics.
lol

Sapphire 4870 shows in the list of 4000 series, but when you click its not there. They must have messed up a bit listing it.

was this pulled because it was sold out or because it was accidentally placed in stock?
Please don't tell me we've missed the first batch of cards already :-(

If they were sold out it would say "SOLD OUT" and their system doesn't update that fast.

Im going to sit here and click refresh for the next 4 hours and 45 minutes. :-P

that long left at work?

man im loving these fast as hell cards are getting cheap. im not paying $600 for a card again but i do love my 8800gtx.

That's just a standard automatic message.
They removed the product because they aren't allowed to sell it yet. 100% sure on that.
:)

No, I'm home and just waiting for the NDA to lift. Its time to put my crap-tacular x1950 pro out to pasture.

how does the 4870 compare to the GTX 280 / 260? Where does it lie performance wise?

Hope so. $309 is going to be to hard to pass up.
$309 seems a bit steep actually.
Wasn't this card supposed to launch for $229?

Last week there were people out there getting dual 4850's for $290.

Dunno I've heard rumors of $299-400 on the 4870. Not $229, that wouldnt make sence. The 4850's are around $180-200.
