I don't see what the point in 3dmark11 is anyways, especially for those with AMD cards. It's quite obvious that 3dmark is biased toward nVidia... even though real world benchmarks are not.

Seems like its a fair bench mark for either cards to me.

it does lean towards the nvidia cards a tad bit. Simply because they do tessellation a bit better. Seeing as most games don't even support that feature yet, overall its just a tool to judge video card performance, helpful when overclocking the card to find max overclock on the memory and what not.

Up to 3447 with the new beta drivers! Woot!

That is a decent score with that card. I don't think Sandy Bridge would gain you much more.

I'm going to try out the new drivers and give 3dMark11 another run on my S775 DFI P45 JR mother board.

What voltage are you putting through the beast?

1.212v

It's liquid cooled and stays cool with this voltage. Probably needs more voltage but I am unable to find a software mod to increase voltage.

Ah nice, yeah 2.2 seems to be a sweet spot anyway for the 4 series lot, im not sure you'll get much more out of it with more voltage anyway.
Very nice :)

For the longest time I put off trying to figure out why my 3dmark 11 (physics score in particular) results were coming up so low when compared to others -- the problem is directly caused by the use of Comodo firewall.

Here's my results ([email protected] i7 2600k, 8gb DDR3 1600, GTX 580 OC) :

Old: 6144

The newer test is run at 900mhz vs 850mhz old (tested 850mhz without comodo and the score is still over 1000 point difference)

Hopefully this post helps someone in the future. If you're running Comodo software, it messes with 3dmark 11 performance results... and who knows what else unfortunately.

Havent run this since xmas. Same system (have updated 3DMark to latest) but instead of getting scores in the 4500 region, now getting scores around 2700.

Have they re-jigged the benchmarks?

Ahh I have now found the problem. I switched Crossfire off a couple of weeks ago then re-enabled it. However, even though windows and the Vision Control Centre say its all enabled again the second card never fires up under load.

Rebuild ahoy.
