3DMark 2011 is out

Tried it on an HD 6850 @ 940|1150 and a Ph II 940 @ 3.4GHz.

The result was P3892.

Perhaps the 10.12 driver will improve that.

The graphics are really amazing.

I got like P4500 or something around that with my Core i7 930 @ 3.8 GHz and HD 5870.

Is it just me or is this one of the most boring/dull tech demos they've ever released? 3DMark used to be visually stunning - sort like seeing what was possible around the bend when it came to graphics tech and how it could be applied in newer games. Granted it's a benchmark, but still... dim, poorly lit underwater subs drifting along and jungles that Crysis (a three year old game) can easily put to shame... Really?! I was expecting something better and more creative - something more in line with what the "Heaven" benchmark did over a year ago. Pretty disappointing.

Scored P5142

Forcing a crappy resolution on everyone by default also pretty much sucks. I can understand they want people to pay for a "nice version" of their benchmark, but I'll pass on wasting $20 on this.

I have a single gtx 480 and it crashes after the 3rd graphics test. I get the same damn error all the time. Something about keyboard something something, didn't even bother running it after like 3 tims.

Meh. It's usually fun to look at the eye candy of these. This was all kind of blah. Not much to ooh and ahh about. I didn't have any issues running it however.
I saw the MSI sub and had the urge to play Aquanox.......

I may run it again when Sli isn't broke, but for now, http://3dmark.com/3dm11/38666

hmm, kinda pretty but wish I could enable full monitor resolution in free version :<

When will PC games have graphics like this? What do you guys think?
We're more that a few years away. 3DMark only has to create graphics, while actual games have a lot more that go into it. Futurmark doesn't have to code A.I., physics, and all the other small things that go into an engine that limits how hard you can push graphics and still get acceptable performance.

Surround monitor gaming has ruined my lust for benchmarking.

nice graphics, finally some shaders, do you know what shaders are>?, but i cant see my score as i dont have internet connection LOL

yeah it's nice better then the last one, now im waitng for more games that looks like crysis

and it run perfect for me , no bugs at all , super fast

PERFECTO

GOOD JOB 3DMARK

SLI and Crossfire are an enormous waste of money, heat, energy, etc. Until 2 cards = 95% of each card's potential x 2, it's wasteful and pointless.

cool story bro?

hahahaha

Ya I run Crossfire and I can tell you right now that it isn't a waste of any of those things.

Sure I am not doubling my performance by running two cards, but you can not get this performance with only one card so :p

You're 100% correct. SLI systems do not generate extra heat, noise, or cost any more than a single-card solution.

I'm getting 40+ fps with everything maxed in MW2 in 2560x1440 on a single (mid-range) card solution, Radeon 6870.

I'm not picking on you in particular but this forum is thick with people who make really terrible hardware decisions and spend way too much money. People with $1000+ in graphics cards in a computer with 2 year old AMD processors and shitty $180 TN monitors. It's quite unbelievable to me.

AGREE with YOU!!!

love my HP 30" and 2560x1600 res :D

The first underwater scene is jaw dropping. It would be hard to separate from a really good prerendered CGI to a realtime rendition at first glance.

I got P4595
Phenom 2 955 @ 3.61
GTX470 810c/symmetrical shaders (can't remember)/1850m

soooooooo... 3dmark 2011 is pretty cool eh?

For me it is. I'm using it as a demonstration of; a broken software release cycle, what insufficient test time causes and how programmers should be more paranoid when designing and implementing code.

This is my favorite game! =P Gonna give it a try with my GTX 580s.

I used this application to stress test my new built. I was averaging around 18-20 FPS with the following build @ 720p on the free edition. Does this sound about right?

2500k @ 3.7
GTX460 768MB
8GB 1333

Thanks!
