Nothing to spectacular...Going to be moving end of august and will throw out this desk and get me a real nice one. Just a 30 inch Dell WFP here. Quad Core Gaming Rig with 9800GX2, 2 Gigs Ram, Blu-Ray Burner. She scoots along pretty darn good in COD4 and WarCraft :)

Where did you get that desk from ?
Its an older Bush desk I picked up from staples on clearance a few years ago. Very sturdy and only 4 pieces so assembly/disassembly is a snap. Closest thing still being sold is this

I will be adding a second 1703fp for the left flank of my 30- HC when i can find one cheap. My kids rifled my 2208's but two 17 inch monitors will lend themselves to allowing room for my speakers.

Rufio - sorry to go off topic again, but what subwoofer is that?

its just a background, if you look at the size of the monitor in relation to the taskbar it looks huge again.. or maybe you are just used to its hugeness

Can I run a dual 30" with a single card, like a 8600GT, or do I need two video cards?

One video card will work with dual 30" displays.

I would imagine it to have tons of power for just basic use, although I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not 100% positive.

I wouldn't use it for gaming though.

Im pretty sure, but gameing will be horrible, you should get another 8600gt because there so cheap then just dont have sli enabled.

an 8800 gt will run both easily in 2d mode. Gaming is the same since its only on one monitor anyway and that performacne at naitvie res is based on the game. I played Cod4 at naitive res without issue althought AA was not an option lol

I have been lurking these forums for a while now and it wasn't until I came across this thread I decided to post. These are pics of my current college setup.

Man, computer setups have come a lllloooooooooonnnngggggg way since my days in college.

When I was at university. My setup was a Commodore 64 and 14" Color TV with video input. It was one of the few computers on my floor in residence. For weeks we had a crowd playing and watching some golf game....

Side angles of the new TV i got. Much better since it doesn't have that white bloom effect going on like the DS263N.

I notice my camera made my screen seem a lot bluer than it actually is.. These were some quick point and shoot shots...

That's a great looking Panasonic, do you play any FPS games on it through your computer? How do they run?? I have been toying with the idea of building a Vista box for sometime..

Hey sup I saw you got a pany 32 inch 32LZ800 can you check if you hear any buzzing coming from the back of the unit? cause lot's of ppl said they heard buzzing noise.. and Iw as about to buy one.. ;)

I really like how there is the same pixel height across all monitors... but 24-30-24 would be pretty damn nice

If you don't mind uneven height in Pixels, then sure go ahead.

Otherwise you might want to find monitors with same size in pixels..

:)

Just out of curiosity, I see alot with main screen in landscape mode and side monitors in portrait, how do you use this setup on a daily basis?

Heres my new build, had my 30" a while but the rest of it's new. Sorry for low quality image, all I have is my webcam/phone.

widescreen HD porn obv.

Actually, my setup is for online poker, however I am pseudo retiring from it so my setup is certainly overkill for what I need at the moment. I will probably buy a MacPro in the future and pursue design with a focus in business related design and typography..

I use a similar setup - widescreen 24" main monitor, 20" IPS in portrait mode - I would like to update this to 30 or 32" in widescreen and a 24" in vertical orientation. I like the vertical mode to read web pages, documents, even online comics / manga. Many webpages do not benefit from more than 1200 horizontal resolution but you do see a lot more up and down.
I have macros / hotkeys assigned to move windows to various combinations of full screen / half screen on each monitor, literally a single keypress away.

Here is an example of my work setup:

My IDE in the middle, Internet Exp left (also IMs and documents), Email right.

Uhmm, I would not mind a couple of more displays lol my wife would kill me.

What monitor are you using in portrait mode? Trying to figure out what works in a vertical orientation properly.
