Well there is the ~1/3 of the die committed to DLSS and Ray Tracing ontop of that 47%. Some people factor that in.

Jacob on the EVGA forums said October. Which probably means December-January in EVGA time, but we'll see.

10 years of game changing R&D on the biggest consumer chip ever made. I don't think we've lost sight of anything.

I placed a order for a regular 2080 seems to be the 2080 ti chips are in short supply or nvidia is just using them for the founders edition.

If I placed a order for the 2080ti I couldn't live with myself.

If I get anything... I'll be waiting for the Hybrid. Love the one Corsair made for the 1080Ti, my MSI SeaHawk is so quiet under a 2,000MHz corespeed :D

Honestly I find any of the triple fan models were extremely quiet. I thought about getting one of the hybrids but the extra premium they were charging just didn't seem worth it.

I got the SeaHawk at base MSRP for the 1080Ti, right as prices started to skyrocket last year- I agree that I wouldn't have paid much more for it, and I'll be watching holiday sales to see what I can grab.

As far as noise, I'd bet that the triple-fan units are pretty quiet, I just felt that it was easier to dump all of that heat out of the case. With the liquid cooler at least I know that the card is no longer thermally limited, and no matter what I do (room stays <=72f) it stays quiet.

Dumping the video card heat is a definite concern to me, as I've always had cards with "blowers" before. I'm currently working on my pc to ensure improved airflow when using the 2080Ti. I switched from water to air about 10 years ago, but I might have to consider going back to water. My pc runs 24/7/365, so I'm more comfortable with air.

Generally it's not that big of a deal provided that there is a decent 'airflow channel' inside the case, as I've done it before. It's just something else to work around whereas the hybrid coolers are set and forget.

Yeah, as long as you don’t let air recirculate it’s not hard with all air coolers.

I’ve been burned by AIOs hybrid cards recently and just want the no BS air cooling experience.

My 1080ti MSI trifan was whisper quiet. Possible pump noises bother me more tbh.

Do any of you guys agree with me in that nVidia has created a "fake" price for the new Ti cards? They are all selling for $1200USD, even for the most basic cards like the Asus Turbo model. I thought the MSRP was $1000USD. What's with the $200 increase? It reminds me of what happened with Vega, only worse. I'm surprised and disappointed to see nVidia doing this.

Yes, it is very similar to Vega and people complained then too. I think it's kind of deceptive to claim an MSRP but then have no cards at that price.

Probably they are banking on enthusiasts paying whatever price for the first few batches, which are clearly selling out, and then lower the prices once stock isn't an issue.

SickBeast The new top model iphone XS MAX 500gb is $1499. The new Samsung Note 9 is $1249 - that's just the times we're living in man. You want top of the top, it's gonna be pricey. As for the Nvidia pricing, wasn't that the suggested MSRP vs. the price of the Founders Edition (which was +200 bucks)?

It's not price gouging unless they're forcing you to buy their products.

    No one
has to buy these RTX cards at these prices in order to have a good gaming experience.

Don't spend $1,200 for a GPU then complain about the pricing.

They'll keep doing it as long as you keep forking over your cash.

Todd Howard of Bethesda when asked why they keep selling different versions of Skyrim "People keep buying it, so we keep making it" -> Nvidia / Apple / Samsung

We keep buying they keep doing.

Apple, Samsung, and Intel do not make dGPU's with 25%+ performance increases every gen, so I fail to see how Nvidia compares to those brands. If AMD was still in the business of producing high end dGPUs, I'd still be buying their products.

Most of us care about FPS, not brand names. Don't hate on Jensen because he delivers the highest FPS while the competition just talks about it.

MSRP and SEP are suggested pricing to move product and make a nominal profit. Prices go up from there as AIB manufacturers have to account for their own costs, and resellers adjust the price as supply & demand changes.

I understand, but this dynamic doesn't typically happen with other tech products. For example, when Apple announces a price for a new iPhone, you can buy it at that exact price all over.

The new design looks so much better. At the very least, the card *looks* like a premium product.

Not remotely a fair comparison, unless Apple started letting other manufacturers sell "iPhones" or something. Regardless, to play devils advocate: Apple also doesn't announce the MSRP for a new iPhone, then sell it for $200 more themselves as a "founders edition" phone. If they did, then you can bet that it would cost that $200 higher price everywhere, at least at launch when demand is high and supplies short.

I'm not fond of the $1200 cost, or even the $1000 MSRP for a 2080Ti, so I didn't pre-order one. Pretty simple.

I agree that the price is sorta nuts, but then again everything is going up. lol.

Regarding the AIB cards being $1200 even the crappy ones.. You can blame AIB and newegg, etc. for that... perhaps AMD as well for having nothing that can even touch the mid end. XD

Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them.

Following that, the average high prices for high-end gear during the mining craze informs marketing officers. And the reality is that if they're hitting their sales numbers at these prices, then they're priced appropriately- if they sell out, the price is too low (!!!), and if stock moves slowly, they'll have to readjust.

Yes.. I pre-ordered RTX 2080ti minutes after announcment because I could and wanted it. Also yes, I agree that businesses will want to maximize profits, etc. I have the equivalent of a drinking buddy through the years, but instead of drinking we're PC hardware addicts LMAO. We're both shaking our heads now at how crazy we were to buy these $1200 GPUs. I'm glad that I never had the thirst to pay $1400 for a 1080ti when the cryptomining craze was happening. Phew.. bullet dodged. XD

Yeah difference is that retailers used to jack up the price at launch. Now it’s nvidia. Makes sense if you’re nvidia but end result is the same.

It's everyone honestly... when the crypto mining craze happened Nvidia, AIBs and retailers all saw that people who really wanted a "Ti" level gpu would pay as much as $1200-1500 to get one, and I think that's why they raised the pricing to what it is. =\

Something is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. You are right Flexion , Nvidia saw what people were willing to pay and priced accordingly.
