well, it previously had WinME on there and played the dvd's fine. i THINK it had an older version of powerdvd on there. i'm gonna try an older version of WinDVD or PowerDVD and give that a shot... i'll post me results afterward.

my aunt just picked up a older lappy... compaq 1925/celeron400mhz/196mb not flashy at all but it's primary use is for minor stuff. i DID come w/ a dvd drive. i installed win2k and powerdvd on there. problem is that all dvd's played are VERY choppy (video and audio). is this a software...

a while back, i was going to upgrade win2k w/ xp on one of my lappies. partway through, something went wrong i decided to not continue w/ it. since then, i always am given the option to load win2k or the xp setup. if i don't select anything, it defaults to the xp setup (which i don't want)...

yeah, you can see the card but it has the exclamation point over the icon and the device status says that the driver can't be loaded. i tried updating the driver w/ the one on the cd (which is how it was installed originally anyway) but no luck. i may just go the 'extreme' route and...

did that and still not working. the status of the wireless-g adapter says something to the effect that the driver isn't loaded, but under driver version it displays the most current driver. i called linksys and the rep thought it may be a defective card. i took it out and tried it on...
