Did you check in your registry? A lot of games keep the cd keys there.

I think you have to re-install patch 1.12 after you install special forces. Try that and you should be able to join games.

Wow, that looks worse than quake3 lol. Personally I would rather have the fps dip at times than have the game look like that. But to each his own I guess, if you play competitively or something I guess I could see that being useful.

I have an almost identical system, except oc'd. I run @ 1600x1200 w/ mostly medium settings and 2xaa. Runs smooth for me.

I can play @ 1600x1200 2xaa and mix of mostly medium settings and a few things on high. Not sure what the exact framerate is, haven't checked but it's smooth and playable IMO. This is with the rig in my sig, which is starting to get fairly weak compared to some of the new tech out now. Like...

Just got done playing for an hour or so. Really fun. I'ts just really hard to find a server that isn't full right now. Runs great on my system in sig @ 1600x1200 w/ 2xaa 8xaf and hdr on runs around 40-50fps.

You can just buy it off steam for $20 standalone. And it was known from day one iirc that retail packages wouldn't include DOD:S.

Hmm, I clicked pre-load and it locked up on me. I restarted it and now whenever I click "Play Games" it freezes. Oh well.... Edit: Restarted steam a few more times and all is well now 80% preloaded. Unfortunately still gotta fork over 20 bucks since I bought the retail version of hl2.

Sucks that the demo is single player only. Was hoping to play some ao3 multiplayer. Other than that seems pretty fun. Not too difficult to pick up if you played the other aoe games.

No, I don't think it does. It doesn't even support 6800's until it's atleast patched to1.2 and it wasn't really great till 1.3. So if you run 1.0 on a 6800 or 7800 you will get weird graphics and other weird black textures and stuff.

I think you have to go 1.1 -> 1.3 -> 1.32 and you will be all set. I am not 100% sure that that is correct but that is how I remember patching it. If im wrong someone can correct me.
