Hands down Alien Isolation is one of the best games I ever played. I was so sad when I finished it. I was having such a good time I never wanted it to end.
Wow, I just installed the latest Nvidia drivers and the image quality improved greatly. I can now clearly see the cursor on a white background. Text is way sharper now.
Ok, looks like a lot of you guys are running at some resolution other than 3840x2160. At 3840x2160 @60Hz I don't get those options but any other resolution I do.
Im starting to think Ill need a second 980 for this beast. Some of the games Ive played didn't pull the greatest frame rates. Id have to do a second 980 since they are the only cards with an HDMI 2.0 output. I was thinking of a 295x2 but there would be no way to get 4k 60hz out of that card.
Ive had mine a week now and am very happy with it. Just did a lot of gaming this past weekend and loved the huge increase in screen size. My only real complaint now is the glossy screen. Im not a fan of that.
I played BF4 and Arkham Origins today and it was awesome. I also had no issues. My only complaints on the TV so far is that surfing the net looks best on IE and Im not a fan of the glossy screen.
I think you have the image zoomed in. Im pretty sure you have to view it at the pictures native size. I have that image. its 1920x1080. When I view it at its native size, the blue text is unreadable. If I expand the mage with my mouse wheel the text becomes readable.
Im keeping mine as a monitor. The 4:2:0 is completely manageable with some control panel tweaks. My previous monitor was a BenQ 32" and the experience using a 42" is so nice Ill look past its shortcomings. If someone comes out with a 40-42' monitor that does 4:4:4 for ~$600 then I might consider...
Looking at the Polaroid manual. Very similar TVs. Same onscreen menus. The HDMI 2.0 port is in the exact same spot. Polaroid has 1 more HDMI port though.
I changed the color setting to "desktop applications" and turned down the digital vibrance a bit. There are some tweaks yet that I have yet to try with the TVs color settings.
Ill see if I have the time to do that. I can tell you that the Quasar looks exactly like the Polaroid set posted earlier in this thread. Wonder if they are the same?
Ive decided to keep the Quasar as a monitor. After a few tweaks to the Nvidia color panel Im happy with its output results.
