I tracked down the problem, having CCC open to watch my temps while I played with fan speeds was causing the stutter. Everything is smooth and nice now!

I adjusted my fan speeds using this method, then for various reasons I wanted to revert it. I deleted all my profiles, uninstalled Catalyst, and reinstalled it. Will it now operate as it did originally?
