I have a 350mb file I need to upload but I'm out of space on my own domain. It has to be done tonight. Anyone have any other ideas, or have a ftp site I could borrow? The file only needs to stay there until next Tuesday at the latest. It's just one .ai file.
found a solution... just saw spamassassin in my domain's control panel so I set it up, and voila! I'm having everything marked for a couple weeks to make sure nothing important is being considered spam, and then I'll just set it up to delete it completely.
I haven't had a junk mail problem for years and now in the past month I've been getting 50+ emails a day regarding online pharmacies and stocks. They're all very similar but always from a different sender. I use Outlook. Is there an easy way to stop this?
yea I thought about that, just do a search that would include all files, then arrange by size, but like you said it could take a while. I guess it's worth a shot if there's nothing else out there.
edit: ok, I tried the windows search and it's working better than I thought. Good old Bill...
I'm running low on hard drive space and I know I've got a gazillion files I could delete, but most are so small it wouldn't make much of a difference... so I'm wondering, is there a program that will do something like list all files in a certain folder including subfolders in order from largest...
Fresh install of Win XP Pro. 200gb WD hd. Windows thinks it's 127gb. Is there something I'm supposed to do to correct this? I'm getting "hard drive full" errors when trying to transfer more than 127gb of info to it.
Seems like such a simple problem but I don't know where to begin....
I just took a (definitely working) 16x DVD burner from another computer and put it in this one. Windows recognizes it as a cd-rom, not dvd burner... and no other program (nero, driveimage, etc) will recognize it as a dvd...
So I just bought an older Sony laptop because I need one with a parallel port for my vinyl cutter. P4, win xp home. However, when I try to send data to the cutter through any port (LPT1, 2, 3, COM1, 2, 3), it fails.
I noticed that in Device Manager it doesn't say anything about the port...
Come on you guys... I'm in a Microsoft Support chat with Mohamed... it's been 35 minutes and we're still at "can you tell me how many computars you want to connect"... it's a fuckin joke!
Here's the deal...
I have 2 computers, both running Windows XP Pro. I have a belkin 4-port wireless router connected (via ethernet cable) to computer A. I also have a dial-up modem connected to computer A (laugh it up... it's my only option out here). I have a wireless network card in computer...
So someone dropped off a computer that I'm supposed to fix... win2k Pro. He had it filled with spyware, viruses and whatnot, which I've gotten rid of completely, and the problem is that he suddenly has no dial-up internet connections listed under "network connections" and his modem cannot be...
I've got a belkin wireless router, a desktop pc (wired into the router) and a laptop (wireless). I've been using the internet and sharing folders/printers between the 2 computers for over a year without any problems.
Now, all of a sudden the laptop will not connect to the network. In the...
I'm troubleshooting a friend's computer who thinks it got hit by lightning. I figured it would be a quick power supply swap, but the computer powers on and makes constant siren noises. I've gathered that this is a sign of CPU overheating, but how can it be overheating instantly after powering...
I bought a cheapo 802.11b/g pci card on ebay and I'm using it to access a network that's just barely within range. I only get a connection about 20% of the time, and when I do get a connection, it's very very weak signal.
I've got a laptop with a built-in wifi card and when I've got it...
 hopefully a label expert is lingering tonight.
I've got 80,000 labels to print on continuous feed "fan fold" labels (size 3.5x1.3125) on a epson 880 dot-matrix printer by tomorrow.
I've got the merge done in Word 2000.
When I print, it prints one address per 8.5x11 sheet...
Nice, but over budget.
I ended up spontaneously buying the ice cube p4 barebones from woot.com. It's got the "cute" look and it'll match the other components I've picked out. Plus it has "one of those see-through window things" that she wanted. lmao.
My final quote for the entire system...
So I live in a itty bitty town where my only option is dialup and my neighbors are all old and/or computer illiterate.
I turned on my laptop and whadd'ya know, wireless connection available. low signal. Have never had a signal around here. Name of connection is "Linksys", so I'm assuming...
What I meant was, I'm going to cover as much as I can on the inside of the clear case with pink vinyl, with probably a fairy and some stars cut out of it, with white LEDs inside. (so the fairy and stars light up). Think that'll work? It'll be a PITA going around the stuff on the front though...
update....
She will now settle with white/clear (I'm thinking simple, mac-ish). I work in a sign shop so I'll put like some sort of pink cutout design inside a clear acrylic case.
Yea so do I but this girl just wants it for surfing the internet and instant messaging and crap like that, doesn't know how to do much else.
She specifically said she wants pink or purple and for everything to match.
I'd love to just go with all white or all clear and do some pink matching...
A friend's girlfriend wants me to build her a "girly" computer system. She wants it to be pink... including the peripherals. I told her it'd be near impossible to get everything pink without having to paint it. Painting wouldn't be worth my time. She'd also settle for purple stuff.
I'd like...
I think my I/O magic 16x DVD burner just borked, and since I can't get tech support today, was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what might be wrong.
I've had it bout 6 months, use it almost daily (reading/writing CDs and DVDs). Has worked fine. Last week I noticed it had gotten...
It's not an ink cartridge. Laser printers use toner, not ink. And that's a pretty average price for HP toner cartridges.
I sold this printer when I worked at Staples. Definitely a nice compact machine. It's known for its superfast warmup time. I might pick one up myself...
I just set up a basic HTPC, the mobo has onboard audio, I'm using HK soundsticks II speakers, pacific digital dvd-rw.
Every time I play a dvd I can hear buzzing noises through the speakers, that seem to come and go as the drive speeds up and slows down. I also get a bit of it while connecting...
well my dad is an electrician and he's agreed to help try to fix it, but it would be cool if I kinda sorta knew what I was talking about so I could help him.
