Hey guys... I just got a new BFG 7800GS OC from newegg... clocks are at 400/1250
Anyway, I installed it, connected the HDD/VGA power connecter to the card and booted into windows, everything is ok at this point... I proceed to install the 93.71 XtremeG drivers, restart etc..
I load World...
Yes, like stated before... set your CPU settings to 15x133 and the voltage to 1.45v in the BIOS. If it dosen't run stabally then you may have a problem... :(
The only reason it's showing as "Unknown CPU Type", that I can see, is because the BIOS dosen't recognize the CPUID string number. A...
If you are worried about purchaseing a counterfeit AMD chip, you may just purchase a full retail version (boxed version) and know that it will be the real thing.
Im useing a Volcano 9 on a 2500+ @ 3200+
Idle's at 41°C, load is about 46°C. Fan is set to 2800 RPM, read from BIOS.
Just for reference...
You should be OK with a Volcano 7 on a 2500+ but I recommend getting a new(er) cooler
The CPU's die/core is 0.09 microns or 90 nanometers thick.
It is currently the top of the line process for CPU's. It helps heat and power consumption, cuts it down a lot for the most part.
There are only like 2 specific instructions within SSE3 itself that have to do with HT, so it will not include those. But otherwise it will have full SSE3 capability.
It's called Venice, not Winchester and it will add the SSE3 instruction set, and a lot of memory controller tweaks and enhancments, along with power reduction.
The Pentium M is a great architecture, based on the older "P6" architecture. Which the Pentium Pro, Pentium II and Pentium III's where based on.
It's basically a Pentium III with Pentium 4 cache size and FSB with some other enhancements like better branch predictors and stuff. It's...
Depends on what your vcore and CPU speed is, but usually yea its actually pretty bad. In my opinion of course. It won't hurt the CPU but im really anal about temps. I have my CPU warning temp set to 56°C and shutdown temp at 60°C.
Because I get 37°C idle and 41°C load, so I know if temps...
I got my mobile 2600+ at the speeds in sig. Runs like a champ with 1.85vcore (BIOS).
1.842vcore actual. Air cooling. (Swiftech MCX462-V and 92mm fancontrolled Tornado)
This is chip would probably do ~3.0ghz under a vapo or prommy.
OCZ is great. Thread starter is living way in the past.
OCZ has some of the best overclocking RAM around, their VX Gold is second to none.

You'll see in that review, this RAM pretty much just owns all the other competition.
They also overclock very well if you decide to try...
wow... I feel so bad, like not to thread crap but Im over here trying to get 255 FSB stable and your in here on 172...
You don't have like ~$75 for an Infinity?
Im not trying to flame or anything, just saying.. the KX7-333R is kinda old... :(
The Asus A7A266 use the ALi MAGIK M1647 266MHz FSB chipset. It supports and has both SD and DDR DIMMs. It was one of those transitional boards. I have one in my closet.

BTW... a Tbird 1.4 on the 266MHz FSB will be miles ahead of the...

Can't go wrong with that. Free DOOM3, unless you already have doom3, then nevermind.
Definately can't go wrong with a XP-M.
My 2600+ does anything I want it too, practically. It maxes out at around 2.73GHz.
10x200, 11x200, 12x200, 13x200, 13.5x200, and everything inbetween. Whatever floats ur boat.
No to mention I have a 240MHz FSB to work with.
Im on moderatly good...

According to that, the Athlon XP 3100+ is a 400 FSB TBred-B (256kb L2) at 2.2GHz.
Launched October 2004. SO... it's basically a 3200+ Barton with half the L2 cache.
