If anyone purchased the P160's windowed panel after their initial full aluminum case purchase, I'd like your original side panel, as shown above.
I fudged what was supposed to be a touchup on a (sweet) 172mm fan mod. Now it's crap and I need to start over. :p
PM an offer, whatever...
Everytime I boot I have to turn off sounds and load my custom cursors. It's been doing this since Giant and Spybot got rid of DSO and TIBS, or maybe when I installed SP2 shortly after. I'm not sure.
Where are the registry settings for sounds and cursors in XP?
These fuckers will not go away. Spybot fixes the DSO thing, says the TIBS one is in memory and cannot be fixed until the next startup. So I restart, Spybot loads and finds em all again (even the DSO shit which it says it fixed already) and says the TIBS one is in memory and cannot be fixed until...
I'm doing some graphics work for a small game and I'm at a point where I've got a million different images in a directory that I need to be changed to one certain image (a blank PNG) while preserving the filenames.
1. Photoshop CS has a Batch operation that I thought I could use to perform a...
No idea when this started, but I can't just click a link to a file and get a download/save dialog box anymore. I have to right click and Save As or else I get a 404 error. This makes it sometimes impossible to get files that aren't hotlinked.
What happened and how do I fix it?
Do certain brands of cable modem provide less latency than others?
I just moved and had to get new service from Roadrunner. Even though I moved about five miles and have even higher upload bandwidth now, my ping times are almost doubled. My old modem with my old service at Charter had no...
(I already have this on the DFI forum on AMDMB as well.)
I went to try the pinmod again (like L12 mod) but now I can't boot, with or without the mod. Everything powers up fine, including the optical mouse LED, but the keyboard lights dont turn on and I remember something about that meaning...
i have two Papst 6224/4 24v 172mm case fans running on a separate PSU's mobo connector. the positive lead is going to the 12v line, and the ground is going to the -12v line for 24v. the fans are rated for 12-24v @ 18W.
everything seems to be running fine. is there anything i need to look out...
i dont know a thing about LCD's, but i saw this review at Gruntville for the Matrix Orbital MX-2. i dont fully understand its features, but ive been imagining a display that will read not only temps, but voltages too.
what im thinking toward is integrating the trimmers from my voltmods into...
its a case.
im just curious how accurate these are. ive got one under a mosfet sink and one in open air to see the ambient temp.
first i had the mosfet probe stuck between the fins on the sink, directly under a 40mm fan, and it would read about 45 under load. now ive got it taped to the...
my headphones are fine and play sound from my stereo. DXDiag sound tests play nothing at any level of hardware acceleration.
something is definatley screwed up here.
one day i somehow lost my onboard AC97 audio after i shorted something with a multimeter. so i disabled it in BIOS, then...
i was gonna attach some ramsinks to my mosfets until i read that the adhesive is permanent. i thought it might be possible to mix in some regular AS5 to thin it out. that sound ok?
yesterday i was at 260 2-2-2-11 at 3.5v. last night i Primed at 3.6v, was stable, but now my bandwidth efficiency is down from 97% to 88%. i put the voltage and FSB back and its still the same.
this shot is at 250 2-2-2-11. notice my last bench at 250 with 2.5-2-2-2-11. its over 100Mbps...
What I'm interested in is an IQZFA mobile, or an IQYFA. so if you've got one (look at the black badge on the chip if you're not sure) and you'd be willing to trade lemme know and we can work out a deal where you'd get mine+cash for it.
If I have no deal after a week or two, I'll sell it for...
i just replaced the 92mm Zalman fan with a 120mm Papst 4312MV Variofan (82CFM). i got the board out layin on its side and the fan is just sitting on on top of the sink right now.
but im gonna come up with a way to mount it cause i went from 45 load with the Zalman at full speed to ------->...
nothing at all. not even the sskskrkrkrskrsssrsrkrrskrrskrs interference from the mobo or HD.
all i know is it worked yesterday. today i did kinda short the mosfet that you measure Vdimm on with the multimeter and got a little spark, but ive done that a hundred times already and it never...
i finally got this Vdimm mod working right. so now im at 250x10 2-2-2 CPC on, with a 17hr Prime, and still going. how long should my memory last if i leave this way at 3.5v? my intuition tells me its fine, but i dont know jack really.
i been looking all over for this pic i saw but i cant find it.. ill look in my IE cache.
anyway, it was a shot of a northbridge with the heatspreader pulled off and it looked just like an Athlon processor but with a smaller core and few little resistors peppered around the surface, and i...
since i switched from an A7N8X to an Infinity, i dont have standby or hibernation in my power options anymore. does the board not support it? running SP2.
i had to modify the mounting parts before it would fit my nFII, so i practiced mounting it on my dead one. it warps the board under the socket, and its hardly tightened at all. isnt this what backplates prevent? does Zalman make one and do i have to pay extra for it?
i tried pin 7 on the "HIP6301CB" chip and it will give a reading somewhere in the neighborhood of my Vcore, but only when its set at 1.90v. no other voltage is within even 0.10v of what should be correct.
ill have four fans in my new case setup. i wanna filter the intakes and use positive case pressure to keep dust out, so i think a fan controller would help me out with that. but ive heard that some buzz when you turn down the voltage on the fans, and i saw one on display at a store here that...
this is also in Mainboards

anyone done the Vcore and Vdimm mods and gotten their voltages stable at least? cuz for sure, my board is undervolted and flakey as hell. i just got an Antec TruePower 430 from the trading forum and Vcore/Vdimm are still way...
WHAT IS WITH THESE?
i got a SATA drive just for the nice cabling but ive already gone through two cables cause the connectors keep breaking. i snapped a piece off a connector on my first cable when i had an A7N8X, simply plugging it into the board. i broke the connector on my second...

anyone done the Vcore and Vdimm mods and gotten their voltages stable at least? cuz for sure, my board is undervolted and flakey as hell. i just got an Antec TruePower 430 from the trading forum and Vcore/Vdimm are still way short and all over, and not...

i always buy all the cool games and play em for awhile, then decide Quakeworld is still the most fun, even after five years. these two ive kept longer than any other new game, but i dont...
this is my first dual channel bench using 2x256 BH-5. the reference bench's are single channel using 1x512 CH-5. at the same settings (230MHz, 2-2-2-11, CPC on) i notice i get get a crappy 130mb/s gain. this is wrong isnt it?
out of four or five lapping guides ive seen, a couple include a final step using metal polish. im guessing that the polish does nothing but fill the microscopic pits and scratches to give the illusion of being smoother.
if im right, isnt that bad? shouldnt that "polishing" be done with AS5 to...

1x512 Corsair XMS 3200LLPT
CH-5. i had this to 217 2-2-2-11 @ 2.8v and a 12hr prime (24hrs @ 215) with a 2500+, A7N8X-E DX and noname PSU, but its known to do upwards of 220MHz in a better system or with a more experienced user.
edit: does 237MHz 2-2-2-11 @ 3.3v in my nFII. price...
i just want to make sure i know what im doing now. since i started learning around the holidays, i figure this:
(assuming all parts work properly)
1. FSB is limited by the memory first. the CPU to a lesser degree.
2. total clock speed (multiplier) is limited by the CPU
3. everything...
