That probably explains it ... that segment is shrinking as more look for less costly upfront alternatives. I often ask myself 'some still buy on contract these days?' Phone prices on flagships remain expensive thanks to carrier subsidies.
My guess is for every G3 there are 100 cheaper...
Simple, price holds it back as with other flagships in the no contract segment. It's a small, limited market catering to enthusiasts, not helped by a growing number of less expensive yet very capable alternatives.
Agree completely, and this from a user who's using both the S3 and N5 (different carriers) right now. The swappable battery, ringtone and general volume loudness, audio clarity, and exchangeable SD card are benefits to the S3.
In my book the S3 was one of the great smartphones. It still...
None. Never had the bandwidth to make it worthwhile.
Ever increasing cable charges is making voip an expensive alternative with phone plans throwing in unlimited voice. Look at the small but growing number of people dumping their home internet altogether in favor of tethered data over cell...
I'm thinking of dumping my current VoIP provider in favor of a non-VoIP cell service alternative such as Verizon or AT&T Wireless Home Phone Connect . For those using one, how do you handle call blocking? I have accumulated a very large call block list through my VoIP provider and would like...
Only downside I see is that it won't support the 700 Mhz A block spectrum T-Mobile states will be aggressively rolled out by year's end. They just got the green light from the FCC.
Check the disclaimer at the bottom of their web site. Just a 500 mb increase but hey, I'll take it. Some claim ST throttles well before hitting the limits.

BIG drop in year over year Q1 postpaid (contract) subscribers, from 677K to 539K (below AT&T). Churn increased also. Revenues grew anyway, proving:
- coverage still trumps price (and always will)
- they charge so much they can lose customers and still profit
If the trend continues V...
$60/mth + tax for 7.5 gb data, 1100 min voice, unlimited text
Breakdown:
Nexus 5: T-Mobile 5gb, 100 minute plan ... $30/mth
Galaxy S3: AT&T Straight Talk 2.5 gb, 1000 minute plan ... $30/nth
Data speeds on TMo are sweet but I'm out of coverage territory 20% of the time, thus the...
This is spectrum T-Mobile purchased from Verizon for billions in order to get a rural foothold and better building penetration. TMo announced an aggressive implementation/expansion plan starting later this year.
Do current iterations of the S4, S5, Nexus 5, Note 3, etc support it? I'm...
Big time DDos attack against meetup.com continues.

Ditto, the minor improvements/enhancements to newer models are still insufficient to warrant a change. The S3 has been rock solid.
By the way, no interchangeable battery = deal killer. I'm off the power grid sometimes 15+ hours a day with heavy use.
Bloat, lack of updates, updates making the program worse or buggier, better alternatives, etc ... I've seen way too many apps lately that are resting on their laurels that no longer deserve the title. Google should start culling the list. What's the value of the award when better alternatives...
The Real Time GPS app provides tracking via a web site whose url is provided to whomever you want to track you ... it shouldn't matter what phone is used. It's worked fine for me.
I personally would pick up an unlocked international Galaxy S3, used if possible, then flip it in a year. Great price points now. Built in FM player, quad core ... pretty much a seasoned, well supported phone. No LTE which doesn't appear to be a big deal and good HSPA+ reception which is more...
This thread somewhat reaffirms my decision for cutting the cord, getting a good OTA antenna, and using MCEBuddy for compression and commercial removal.
If only Movies! were available in more markets. From what I understand, there's commercials but no editing or formatting or throwing station...
Here's a list of places that should be online shortly, within days apparently.

Report if/when you're seeing it.
More than likely he simply got bad adapters. I had the same dropped signal symptom with the first pair. After replacing them I've had no issues since. The quality control of some of these units are questionable. Trendnet is what I use now.
Say it ain't so!
Sprint ... you're drunk, go back to Kansas City.

EA stock getting spanked too.
To be clear, it's a 'temporary' halt but it's clear it's bug ridden for EA to go to this measure.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I just did it ... cut the cord! No more Dish Network, relying on a decent antenna for OTA plus a HDHomerun and a few HTPC's. Trying to point that antenna in the right direction was hilarious ... until discovering there's signal strength apps for androids...
Just reviewed my previous purchases at the Egg over the years and it's amazing how little I've used them in recent years. Chalk it up to Amazon ... and the need to upgrade isn't as frequent these days.
Anand needs to get out more often. Go to any airport and notice how many 'normal', non-techy people congregate around charging stations or wall outlets.
S3 here, unlocked. Good phone, can swap batteries like the S4 (but not Nexus 5), purchased outright to avoid 2 yr contracts.
When the S5 comes out (May?), sell the S3 and buy the S4 which will fall in price. By then most everyone will say how the S5 pwns the S4 and chase the latest and...
Thanks but since I don't have, nor intend, to get a newer board/chipset/cpu how can this be determined?
Maybe I should be more specific ... would a HD 7870 be bottlenecked by the cpu's?
Hey guys I've been out of the loop for awhile and need your advice.
I have 2 aging systems ... AMD 965BE cpu, the other a Q9550. Both have modest overclocks running Radeon HD 5850's on single, 24" monitors.
Is there any sense to stepping up to a better vid card or would I be bottlenecked...
