I believe the replacement consoles come with 90 day or 1 year warranties. If you had a launch machine that failed within a year and then that one failed within the new warranty period, you could get it replaced a bunch of times at no cost.

They don't. Microsoft extended the 90 day warranty to 1 year, but launch units are now out of warranty. Mine was purchased december 2005, and died 2 weeks ago. I had to pay $140 to get it replaced.

299 euros is $395. The 360 is currently selling for considerably more, dollar for dollar, in europe right now. I think most people are thinking that if they drop the price in europe, we will see a price drop of similar magnitude here in the states.

I don't think they can just add a cable. I think an actual hardware change needs to be made to support hdmi.

I had no problems until I got the latest GOW patch a couple of weeks ago. Games started freezing, then when I got the latest Rainbow 6: vegas and madden patches on friday everything quit working. Mine was a launch console, so it was out of warranty.

It's not just with the vga cable. It's the way the game loads textures. I think it was mentioned in the review on the hard console site.

Probably the same as the keyboard mouse adapter that came out for xbox. I think it just converted mouse movements into analog stick movements, so it was essentially worthless from what i heard.

Everything works fine using windvd. I tried wmp10 and wmp11 and the sound is bad. I guess wmp is doing something with the 5.1 track that isn't good for laptop sound.
