    SSD and various usb interfaces

This is probably more of a usb question than SSD, but I'll start here... So I have a new x570 motherboard, which has 'USB 3.2 Gen 1' and 'USB 3.2 Gen 2' outputs... I have a Maiwo Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 to M.2 external device, with a 512GB M.2 drive in it. I got a USB Type-C to Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 Cable...

Memory-selling obtuseness - please clarify this??

Ahhh... very interesting... So I'm guessing that my Ryzen 7 3700X would not be considered an "early Ryzen chip" ?? anyway, I don't have any complaints, but I appreciate having some insight into what is going on there...

Memory-selling obtuseness - please clarify this??

In the Amazon listing that I will include here, for: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) or Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) C16 1.35V for AMD Ryzen Black there is a little pull-down menu, labeled...

    DRAM confusion - PC4-21300 vs PC4-25600 (resolved)

Okay, that's good... I understand... Thank you for the info on the JEDEC DDR4 standard, that's something that I didn't know *anything* about!! Also, I just ran Sandra memory benchmarks, and it confirms that memory is running at 3200Mhz (yeah, I know that the actual clock is half that!! :)...

    DRAM confusion - PC4-21300 vs PC4-25600 (resolved)

Oh, interesting... Yes, I also found a site that talked about the BIOS setting in AI Tweaker... I went there, and set that DRAM speed to 3200Mhz... supposedly that is all that is required?? The motherboard manual actually hinted at this; under Memory, it has this entry (shown in included image)...

    DRAM confusion - PC4-21300 vs PC4-25600 (resolved)

I am confused about what speed my DRAM is, in my new system... motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X memory: 4*8GB Corsair CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 Both Amazon and Corsair say that this memory is PC4-25600/DDR4-3200, but now that I have them installed, both HWINFO64...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

Just as a final follow-up, I've been playing M&M6, which loads the cpu pretty thoroughly... Now, with this technique implemented, and iCue actually acting on cpu temperature, I'm running a steady 45C with the game running; previously, it was going up to high 50s... I realize that this supposedly...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

BTW, is there some way that I can mark this thread as *solved* ?? Many boards encourage that, and my issue *is* solved... but I don't see any 'solved' button...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

One of the problems that I had with this upgrade... well, there were *two* problems... 1. I had abandoned doing my own system builds many years ago... every time I tried to replace core hardware in the past (15+ years ago), I ended up with a couple of days of real headaches, and when things...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

NO!! I got it!! The Sensor label above the graph, is a pull-down menu... one of the options is 'AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Package' ... Once I select that, it is looking at the cpu temps, supposedly... Okay, let me experiment with this for awhile... sadly, the 'temp' field is still showing coolant...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

*am* I using an old version? I have 3.37.140... When I click on the three-line icon next to any of those four objects, I get two options: 'Unpin from dash' and 'Pin to space'. Selecting either of those, does not do anything visible on my machine!!! Damn, I feel like I'm operating in the wrong...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

I think I'm missing something here... These are the settings that I'm using now... but it doesn't change the fact that the temp that they are showing on the right, are *still* coolant temps, not cpu temps... and that 29.70C that they are showing, is *well* below the 45C that the other programs...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

Wow... well, your input is certainly more credible than the other was!! But, I still would much prefer that it look at cpu temp for its decisions... how do I do that?? I don't see any way to get there...

question about temp sensing in AIO coolers - Solved

My previous system was i7-3820, 32GB RAM, Gigabyte MB, Corsair H100i Pro RGB cooler, CorsairLink software. I was *stunned* with how effective this system was for cooling!! I set the cooling curve for 0% at 20C, 50% at 40C, 100% at 60C. This worked great; the system sat at around 30C when...
