So I installed a GTX 680 so my kid can play games like BF3 and PS2, not sure if my current CPU is limiting me. I compared to my brother's PC and his graphics card is the same but his performance blows mine away.
My CPU:
Intel® Core™ i7-920 Processor (2.66 - Running overclocked to 3.6)...
I have:
Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA
About to order a GTX 680 once I can find one online, does the CPU clock speed even really matter much anymore or will I be creating a CPU bottleneck?
I just finished installing Windows 7 64bit on my new i7 920 box. I am running an ATI 5870 with the latest drivers and my CPU is overclocked to 3.6ghz. I launched Crysis and set the settings to high and the resolution to 1920x1080 and it's not playable to my standards. The mouse moves very...
I have a second PC system here, i'd like for simple games to work on it for when company is over. It's currently running a 7900gt (vista, 1G RAM, AMD64 4000+), the card is going bad, I have insane artifacts all over the screen and I tried everything to fix it. I want to replace it but I am not...
I am trying to weigh my options here, would adding another SLI 7900GT card be my best bet here or is there a new card that will blow an SLI config out of the water these days?
Just got the proc, going to purchase a 4000+ because I really only game with my machine.
Looking to sell it for $200 + 5$ shipping, I will throw in a cooler master heatsink/fan with it.
I get constant drive corruption problems, at first I thought it could be my drives. I originally had 2 WD Raptor 36GB 10,000 RPM drives setup as Raid 0. Every 2-3 reboots I would get the scandisk prompt during my Windows XP boot. Eventually I would start getting corrupt file warnings in Win XP...
I am re-posting this because the original buyer did not have the money. I am selling this complete system for $135 shipped.
The entire system uses 8x1 (8mm ID) compression fittings.
Below are the specs and current retail prices, as you can see this is an expensive setup (current retail...
I have a DFI 865PE Lanparty motherboard with an Intel P4 3.2GHz proc. I have two WD Raptor 10K SATA 36GB drives attached to the standard SATA controller. Sometimes the second drive will be detected and then sometimes it wont. Usually if I have had my computer off for a while I can always assume...
So I just bought an HP ZT3010, the factory OS load was pure garbage. This thing ran so slow and every benchmark program I ran showed my CPU maxing out at 598mhz. (it's a Centrino 1.5).
I don't think the CPU was clocking right and I am guessing it had something to do with the messed up HP...
I standardized on the innovatek connectors and now my temps are 3C lower across the board. 31C idle, 37C full load (only 1.5 hours of testing).
Sweet :D
I have a Zalaman quiet 400W PSU. I had been having so many wierd Raid issues and wrote it off as the DFI Lanparty 865 was a piece of flaming shit.
Recently I swtiched away from the onboard raid controller and started using the onboard SATA controller for my 2 WD Raptor 36GB drives. Every now...
I have a DFI LanPart 865PE with the SATA Raid controller built-in. I have two Western Digital Raptor 10,000rpm 36GB drives in Raid 0.
My first install I had a raid stripe size of 16k and all was good for about a week. After that pretty much every time I would reboot I would get the scan disk...
I have been looking at this one:
http://www.mountainmods.com/cgi-bin/product.pl?item=U2UFOB3
but I hate all those 120mm fan cutouts in front...it's way too many and silly to run that many fans. I love the style of the case though...
Anyone have any links to some nice cube style cases?
I am on my third pair of SVC cold cathodes (UV). Granted they are only $5 but they keep burning out after a matter of weeks. The lights themselves actually seem fine but my converter unit keeps burning up.
These things are junk :(
My days of overclocking are over, I don't play videogames anymore so I really don't have a need to OC. I hate loud computers so I made this bitch silent.
I started with a Zalaman 400W Silent PSU (1 80MM fan)
Threw my old BlackIce Radiator away and changed to an Innovatek Passive Radiator...
Or some form of it? I would like to throw some green fluorescent dye into my watercool system but I really can't stand ordering stuff.
Does a place like Ace Hardware or Home Depot carry something like that? I figure a lot of people may use that stuff for leak testing so someone HAS to carry...
What product do you all use the seal fittings on a waterblock? I am looking for something I can find at Homedepot or Lowes...
What exactly is the correct terminology for that clear rubber stuff?
