I am on my third pair of SVC cold cathodes (UV). Granted they are only $5 but they keep burning out after a matter of weeks. The lights themselves actually seem fine but my converter unit keeps burning up.

These things are junk :(
 
There was a thread a while ago that people were having problems since they switched manufacturers. Honestly if I saw two blow I would have looked somewhere else for a third.
 
i have two of the SVC ones and one of the Sunbeam, no problems here
 
I also ordered these lights. They were not working 3 hours later after installation. They are sending me replacements. Hopefully the new ones will work out better.
 
one of mine burned out after about 2 weeks of only a couple hour a night useage
 
Hmm, lately it seems like SVC's lights are giving up on their owners. To the people that bought the Sunbeam lights from SVC, how they they perform?

I'm asking because those are the cheapest that I can find for Sunbeam lights at SVC, unless some one knows another place to buy from.
 
my friend has one of the dual-inverter CCFL from SVC - the inverter burnt out after about 3 months in operation. not an indicator, but still. my Sunbeam CCFL's have been working for 2 years now, with practically no dimming and no problems whatsoever.
 
i have no complaints about my 9.99 cold cathods from compusa

one red, one blue....

good price too...
 
i got some from svc for 5.49.....complete package with 2 lights............these things are bright and haven't had a problem............some good stuff.........they were made by "vastech inc"
 
my sunbeam one is working great :D
no complaints

the older svc ones were cheaply made but they still work fine :)
 
got 2 bulbs from svc,,,they sucked very low light they were uv. are uv cathodes supposed to be bright

NO!:rolleyes:

uv isn't about brightness......it's all about what that light hits......such as uv reactive wires...........it also shows dust that's sitting on the bottom of the case really good.......
 
well my uv reactive cables barely glowed even with 2 bulbs beside them. they were just really weak. wish i had a digi cam to show how ineffective the ones i bought from svc.com are.
