Sure. I'm on the 3rd floor. The router is on the 1st floor. I don't think the floors are too thick, but there are high ceilings. I am directly above the router which helps the situation. Other people on the 3rd floor likely can't even see the router on the network list.
Another option may be to...
I just recently moved in to a new apartment to find out that the wifi doesn't consistently reach my room (it would have been great if they'd mentioned that before I moved in).
My 6 year old laptop will connect with 2/5 bars. My desktop, with a better wireless card and antenna, will see the...
I have had my monitor and TV hooked up to my 6950 for a few weeks now with no problems. Today, my second monitor came. Both of my monitors are running off of the DVI slots. Now, when I plug in the HDMI cable for my TV, the second monitor shuts off and only the TV works. Unplug the HDMI again and...
Hey everyone,
I currently have a Dell U2312HM hooked up to a 2GB 6950. I do a lot of photo editing which is why I chose the IPS panel for my main monitor. The plan was originally to buy a second 2312 but after doing some thinking I realized that I don't need two IPS panels because I will only be...
Thanks guys. I won't be able to put it under load until tomorrow night at the earliest. Hope you guys dont mind helping me out then - I'll use the same thread
I just finished assembling my 2500k build and looked at BIOS to see my cpu idling at 38C. I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 and was expecting lower temperatures than this. Is this something to worry about? I'm worried about my thermal paste (which I always worry about because I'm afraid I do it...
Hey everyone, I need a wireless adapter for the new build I'm working on. I've been looking on Newegg at reviews yet I'm still not sure which card to buy. I'm not sure where I should draw the line as far as price/performance. Any tips on choosing a card?
Thanks
You would be correct. I plan on oc'ing the CPU but not the GPU. When I'm gaming it will just be one monitor at 1920x1080 so at least for the short term I will have more than enough power.
And a bit more noise wont be an issue. Thanks for the help.
The person who recommended the first card told me to go this route instead: Option 3
So I think that will be the direction I'm going. Same clock speed as option 1 with 2 fans instead.
I was recommended this gpu for my build last week and I was looking around and saw this one. Only differences are 30Mhz faster core clock and 50Mhz faster memory clock. Price difference, as you can see, is $10. Is that a worthwhile upgrade for $10? I don't know a whole lot about the factors...
Two Dell U2312HM's. I have one right now which will get my started until my next paycheck.
The TV isn't really going to be used at the same time as the monitors but I don't want to have to switch cords if I want to sit across the room. I'm expecting that if the monitor is switched to a...
I'll have two display ports (monitors) and an HDMI (TV). Does that work or will I need to figure out a different configuration?
Edit: I'm pretty sure that is what you're saying, but I'm not sure if I'm able to have two display ports
One more thing that I forgot to mention, I plan on hooking up 2 monitors and also a TV to my desktop. I'm going for a 6950 because then I don't need Crossfire/SLI to run the three panels. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you for the GPU and HD suggestions. I also liked a few of those cases that you recommended, and it's nice that a few of them had USB 3.0 on the front which is a feature that I wanted but was having difficulty finding.
I don't use photoshop as much as I'd like to, but that's because I'm...
Reading comprehension: I failed.
I misread the description of the Asus board a week ago and that false information stuck with me. Okay, now that we have that cleared up...what's a good wireless card? Networking is my weakest link as far as computer knowledge goes. Are the usb operated ones...
Does that motherboard have built-in wifi capabilities? I know the Asus boards have bluetooth connectivity. I don't have access to a wired connection at my apartment so wifi is a must.
Here's what I have as of now:

Hey everyone,
I'm going to be building a new computer shortly and was hoping to get some opinions on hardware requirements. I'm looking into potentially running 3 monitors for Skyrim and was wondering what you guys think I would need for graphics card/s? I don't need to be running on ultra...
