I finally got this system together and the Zalman fit perfectly. About a centimeter of clearance from the memory. It was close but not too close.

Ahh. that makes sense. I think I've seen those BIOS settings as well. From everything I've read it seemed to indicate overclocking was the requirement needed and it seems you have confirmed that as well. thanks

You don't need to throw it away, it's just that 2 Sandy's in the same system would be more capable to handle SL's massive requirements.
