Yes will do. I have heard of some of these models but one advantage I was hoping for with the off lease type systems is being able to buy a cheap replacement on ebay but I will check ali out again. I worry about reliability as this is going to be for the parents but getting sick of the consumer...
Ok thanks pendragon1 I thought they seemed like a good value for under $200. I need to make sure I get it with the oem power brick. Ma will be zooming around soon enough hopefully.
What's the latest thin client or off lease system people are using to build pfsense boxes nowadays? I converted one of those T-Mobile hot spots to an RT-AC68U but want to upgrade the router and use this as an ap until I can get something better for the wireless. I am trying to do it cheaply but...
Wondering if anyone has a better alternative suggestion for a general usage pc for my parents. I have been chronically ill for a long time and am starting to recover enough now that I want to start going through my parents setup and upgrade things a bit. I was thinking the 8500T and 16GB of ram...
This thing seems pretty cool but I imagine the price is going to kill it for me. I have purchased NUC systems before and do like them but they are normally over priced. If Intel and AMD were both making modules for these things and they were going to be supported in the future I could see myself...
Nice to see you testing out a real chair and not some terrible "gamer" chair. Interested to see the final review as I am in the market for a new chair. I have mainly been looking at refurb steelcase leaps.
I got one in the mail yesterday. It was the $149.99 one which ended up being a NESN on the box. Checked the drive and it was a WD80EMAZ white made in Thailand with 256mb cache. I got it for my Synology DS116 so I was worried that I would have the 3.3v problem preventing it from working...
Yes I am curious to see if they release a version with Gsync for those that are running Nvidia cards. I plan on going with a RX480 for now and possibly upgrading to Vega when it arrives. I think the RX480 will be enough for me as I am mostly looking for something to run modern games at PS4...
I have been looking into monitor arms for mine. I think the Ergotron LX is what I am going to go with. I see guys are using them with the 34" ultrawides so it should fare well with this.
Yeah it is well worth the full price imo. I got one a few days back and really am in love with it but I have to do an exchange because there are some bright blue stuck pixels on the left side edge. I was unfortunately only able to test mine over hdmi using the intel gpu in my Nuc but I could...
Hey guys I started a thread about this monitor in the displays section so we can talk about specifics regarding the monitor in a more appropriate place and we can leave this thread for talking about the deal. Figured there will be some valuable info that may be buried in the hot deals thread. HP...

I think when I first switched my resolution from 1680x1050 to 2560x1440 something didn't quite take all the way. Text wasn't quite as sharp as I thought it should be. After I did a restart things looked much better. I have had 3 Nec 20wmgx2 a Dell 2209wa the Acer XB271HU and some other lesser VA...
I just tried doing this test details here Pulse Width Modulation. I used 1/25 shutter speed and set my white balance to daylight which I think is 6000k. Took pictures from about 2 feet away while moving horizontally and different speeds and I only get a solid white line. Tried at 100% brightness...
Yeah I am going to take your suggestion and see how it goes. Hopefully it's just me needing to adjust to the size and not because of anything with the panel such as the possible PWM backlight. I played some TF2 and I haven't been able to notice any input lag.
I don't think anyone has been able to confirm or deny what type of backlight dimming it uses. I ran the blur busters test but I don't know how to interpret it. I see a line about 4 pixels wide moving across the screen when I do the test using the default setting. I can't see 4 individual lines...
My panel really looks pretty good to me. I don't have much if any BLB and colors look comparable to my Dell 2209wa which is an IPS. Unfortunately I do seem to notice more eye strain already compared to my Dell. I have turned the brightness down but I am wondering if maybe the monitor is just...
Yeah I just took the stand back off and checked it. Seems to be the foil tape or adhesive on the panel making the noise when the panel flexes during adjustment.
Mine came in this morning. I noticed that getting the stand into mine it was a bit of a snug fit. One weird thing I noticed so far is when I adjust the tilt back then bring it forward again there is a sound like peeling a sticker off coming from somewhere I can't figure out. Do you notice this...
I guess that this Blur Busters UFO Motion Tests test is how we can test for pwm. I tried it on my Dell 2209wa and I can see at 100% brightness one line that appears to be about 4 pixels wide moving across the screen. If I turn my brightness down to 0 I can see about 6 individual lines. This is...
I thought there was an easy way to test for this but now that I am looking it seems not so easy to figure out. I saw on blurbusters.com there is a Blur Trail / PWM test but not really sure how to interpret it. I seem to be able to see 3 or 4 lines on my Dell 2209wa during this test and I do not...
Archaea since it looks like you will be the first one here to get yours if you could possibly run a test to see if the monitor has pwm back light dimming. I think it's something a few of us are wondering about.
I have one coming as well. Hopefully I get the 20% cash back from mastercard along with the 10% from befrugal. Also got $10 from befrugal for first sign up and should be getting $15 for referring a family member here shortly. I will let you all know how the monitor is when it comes in.
A reverse drill bit may be something to consider but none of these screw extraction techniques work that great if there is cross threading but if it is just the head thats stripped I have had luck with the reverse drill bit.
Oh and to be clear I am talking about the Gaming X models which are 5.51" wide at their widest point according to MSI at least. They aren't telling me how wide the card is at the actual power connector which appears to be a lot less than 5.51" but I can't tell how much.
I appreciate your help but I am not sure what you are getting at. I am aware of this and have read the compatibility info that NCASE provides but this does not tell me what these MSI cards measure at the power connector. Haven't seen this info in any of the reviews of the cards I have read or...
I am considering one of these cards for my build in an NCASE M1 but the width is limited to a maximum of 140mm for the GPU. According to the specs for these cards they are right at the maximum but it appears that the power connector is inset from the edge of the card. I was wondering if any...
What do you guys think I should go with for my PSU for my build?
Specs:
-6600K which I plan to OC
-Either an RX480/470 or GTX 1060 haven't decided yet
-2.5" mechanical drive
-M.2 SSD
I am not quite ready to do the build yet but I have $15 of credit to use up on amazon so I figured I would...
