Entirely expected, everyone and their grandma's are pumping out FreeSync monitors at record speed, it's only a matter of time before you literally cannot buy non-FreeSync monitors that isn't G-Sync.

A good thing IMO, VRR has its benefits in gaming.

so damn true lol.

AFAIK FreeSync literally costs manufacturers nothing at this point, and more feature stickers is better. Not unexpected lol, they need more things to entice people to upgrade from their old 1080p monitors that are still rocking.

Personally I can't wait til 144Hz + HDR drops, even if it's 1080p. Makes me all giggly just thinking about it :D

If only this thing was 8 bit and had a 30hz minimum (trade off size from 27in->24 inc to keep the price low). Would get it and swap to a RX 480.

I hope someone releases a 24" 1080p 8 bit IPS monitor with freesync soon.

This is cool and all, but at this point, why would you need freesync at 1080p? I can see 1440p and 4K where frame drops would be more likely, but 1080p has been easy to drive for a long time.

EDIT: Shoot, I'd even take 2048x1152, that weird resolution in between that hasn't been seen for a while.

You can always run DSR at 4K with it, and it's only 75hz should be solid for a long time.

People really underestimate high refresh monitors ; 1080p at 100hz is equal to 1440p at 60.

1440p at 130hz is equal to 4K60.

Pascal Titan is the only card that can do 1440p at 120hz+ reliably for new games

Did you bother to read the review of the excellent performing PowerColor Red Devil 470 OC'ing article here? Despite very nice performance, neither a 470 or 480 OC'd can max the setting sliders in the test game suite @ 1080P...Despite this, they still can't maintain a solid 60FPS minimum..You see some insane dips depending on the game, with most dropping to the mid 40s..

That to me is all the more reason to get a FreeSync display..I love love my calibrated HP ZR2740W (1440P IPS goodness) but I will be replacing it with a 1440P+ FS display as soon as I see what Vega has to offer this fall...

Those are budget cards... but I guess that fits the 1080p res. Question is, what are max settings. To be brutally honest, there is no real max settings to a game. You can always add more bells and whistles to a game with support and gpu / cpu power.

Also those are budget cards, you don't buy them to run so called "max" settings.
