Nope, it's a picture of my dog (Bisco). Edit: he died of cancer while I was working on the items so I themed them after him.

    Path of Exile

Been playing a vaal sparker this league, which has been a nice change of pace for me. Starting up a barrage/split arrow build using The Tempest and a +1 arrow Saemus'. Have a couple 6l Tempests to try to Vaal for the +1 arrow corruption, we shall see how that goes... Also been playing around...

    Path of Exile

Getting 6l is significantly harder than getting 6s, and you got really lucky with that chest armor - congrats! And yes, scouring and then alching does the same as a chaos orb. You can go either route if you want to try your luck on re-rolling the chest.

Good god you are lucky you made it through alive, especially since there are only 48 hours in a weekend!

    Path of Exile

Yeah I hear you. Nothing like having all your gear set and making any little change which causes a huge cascade of side effects. Clear speed so far is good, but I'm low on life. Will be investing my next 6-7 skill points into life and may also regret a few damage and mana leech passives and...

    Path of Exile

Nice! Got my first exalt drop and ended up changing it for chaos and buying a Rat's Nest and a few other upgrades. Also 5-linked my Daresso's Defiance, and it's amazing how much that helps for endurance charges/immortal call. Playing a pretty standard tornado shot ranger this time around and...

I'll be jumping into this league late, have a stupid dissertation to finish first. Ugh life is hard. Glad to hear the essences are working well - should be a fun system to play around with!

    Path of Exile

Yeah, I have a few things like that floating around. It's frightening how easy it is to lose stuff in all the tabs. Someone brought up the point in game the other day about how easy it would be to mistake a fated unique for a normal one and sell it, god that would be horrible :p

    Path of Exile

Yeah, cleared out about 70 or so yesterday. Finally decided to sell all the level 1 gems I've been hoarding since before they became buyable at vendors too. Sold over 1,200 gems lol.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Yes, I can agree with most of this. I do think the time frame could be longer based on the "things get weirder at the center" pitch but you are right: if you can't tell in the first 10-15 hours if you will like this general kind of game then something strange is happening. The caveat, and this...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

The shitty thing is this will stain the rest of Hello Games as well, and I don't think that is fair to people who worked their asses off on this game. I don't even think Sean Murray is a bad person, just incredibly dishonest (even if it is lying by omission or political dancing around questions)...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Normally there isn't a scenario where this is acceptable. The only mitigating circumstance that comes to mind is fraud/false advertising of the product, especially when the fraudulent/missing features don't become apparent immediately upon playing the game (Edit: or some sort of technical glitch...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Please, there is no room for facts in this thread because they drives the white knights into a frenzy.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

So people who have different opinions than you have mental disorders? Classy. Edit: looks like all the white knights' jimmies have really been rustled by people returning this steaming pile of shit.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

How the hell do you know people enjoyed it? You just assume everyone was having a fucking blast playing the game rather than getting annoyed at the lack of features before finally giving up and asking for a refund. How in your mind is it okay for a developer to shove lies down consumers' throats...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Yeah, that makes sense. If Sean Murray (or ideally a new PR face) start being better about communicating and keep developing the game it has a shot to become something pretty neat. I won't consider purchasing until that happens, but for now I am much more concerned with the kind of precedent...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

You should probably re-read the question. It was asking how Sean Murray's statements could possibly not be a lie and deception, not whether you cared or not. I completely respect your decision not to care about multiplayer being in the game or not.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

I am glad you feel that No Man's Sky lived up to one of the promises the developers made about it. However, just because you don't care that Sean Murray and Hello Games broke countless other promises doesn't mean other people can't care.
  21. K

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Oh the irony. You seem to think it is pretty black and white regarding refunds, despite there being plenty of evidence for Sean Murray intentionally misleading potential customers into buying the game. People were also hoping that the PC release would include multiplayer, based in large part...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Why do you think you know what people experienced when they played the game? Why can't the 'fun' players had in the first 20+ hours be based on anticipation of encountering the kinds of things that were promised for this game but were never delivered? By all means the exploration of the first...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Just browse through some of the Reddit or other refund threads. Unless of course there are dozens of people just lying about getting refunds in a major conspiracy to take down Sean Murray and Hello Games. I doubt you will be able to find any actual statistics from Steam or other sources, but...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

I am sure it will be abused, there is no doubt about that. I am also sure many people with legitimate complaints will ask for refunds. If Sean Murray and Hello Games had decided to market the game honestly instead of based on lies they wouldn't be in this situation. There are always going to be...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

You fail to mention all the comments by Sean Murray that left the door open that multiplayer existed. While I agree the people who believed that aren't so sharp, when the lead developer and owner of the company making the game makes vague statements like Sean Murray did it leaves the door open...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Nobody said everyone was going to get a refund by being nice. The fact is that Sony, Steam, Amazon, etc. are all breaking standard refund policy to offer refunds for this game.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

A quote directly from Steam's stated refund policy: "There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look." I assume you just didn't bother to read it?
  28. K

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Sean Murray has not once clarified whether the game is multiplayer or not. Sean Murray even leaves the vague possibility open in that quote with the bit about the chances being pretty much zero. He didn't have to say that but he chose to, likely to not fully commit to multiplayer being absent...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Wow, that is pretty telling. Edit: just looked at the Steam product page and the rating has dropped down to 43%, with tons of negative reviews coming in from people who have sunk considerable time into the game. If this had been $30 or less and was offered as early access, I think it would be...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

And when those lies become apparent after 30 minutes? Or after 2 hours? Or after 20 hours? Does some of the blame here lie with consumers? Yes, they swallowed Sean Murray's shit hook, line, and sinker. But at the end of the day Sean Murray built this game's sales on a foundation of lies, and...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Good, I am glad you had fun playing for 24 hours. That's really great. But just because you don't mind being lied to or not having features of the game present that you based your purchasing decision on doesn't mean that other people feel the same way. This isn't about you and whether or not you...
  32. K

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

Pretty much this. Sony (and Steam etc.) wouldn't be issuing these refunds in violation of their stated policy if customers didn't have some legitimate reasons behind their requests. If the released game matched the marketing, I guarantee you they wouldn't be approving these late refunds - that...

    Path of Exile

Yeah, definitely a change for the better. Makes clearing out the 10+ tabs of gems I have a pain in the ass though :P You can also buy different levels of the different gems by shopping in Normal, Cruel, etc., which can be helpful if you are trying to minimize the time to level them up or find...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

As much as I think Sean Murray and Hello Games have bungled the release and mislead consumers, I'd wager this is just a bug or server issue like you suggest. The Reddit thread where this was brought up has folks talking about server downtime, people maybe not uploading, etc. and all of that...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

I think there are two issues here, and they get conflated frequently when talking about this game and its release. The first is what Sean potentially was dealing with that led to him being evasive, led to things he talked about either not appearing in the game, needing to be patched in, or not...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

I imagine this is the general scenario, but where it crosses into unacceptable behavior (at least to me) is when it ends up costing people money. This is a bigger picture issue with pre-orders and getting what was promised, but even day one buyers etc. who buy at full price expecting one...

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

That's true, and definitely agree with whether someone enjoys the game is down to personal taste. To me it seems like the rage against Hello Games, Sean Murray, etc. isn't about the game itself, but about Sean's evasiveness, the over-promising of features, and the price (though people complain...
