Installing VMware View Client with Local Mode Failure

Yeah, its a strange strange executable. Placed in the C:\Windows\ directory. More than likely this one is part of the webcam installed, it's ancient and from asia, but it works well enough for the lady. The file is easy enough to delete, and does not re-appear which is promising. It's...

    Eyefinity 4x1?

Yup. Bezel Compensation is no big deal. I'll have to try the setting to 1x4 then to see what my options are. Thats a good thought too, I'll have to try checking the fourth monitor orientation.

    Eyefinity 4x1?

There are two 2407s, and two 2408s, so no they are not the same model, but close enough for any combination of three of them will do eyefinity without an issue. Four of them will do the 1x4 or 2x2 arrangement, but not the 4x1. No change with or without the additional monitors / card. If I...

Installing VMware View Client with Local Mode Failure

Version 4.6. Finally found the issue. "FixCamera.exe" was running, and apparently that stops all VMware software from working, including installation software. Strange. Disabled fixcamera and install went right on through.

    Eyefinity 4x1?

I know right? But then again, even AMD has not updated their website to show the 5x1 being legit under a google search for "eyefinity display modes", it comes back with 5 displays is not currently possible. (from 2010). Doing a quick online search, I am unable to find anyone showing off a 4x1P...

Clean install did not change anything. Strange.

Installing VMware View Client with Local Mode Failure

I'm trying to install VMware View Client (64 bit), on Windows 7 Pro SP1. I start the install executable and the install splash screen loading image pops up for less than a second, then disappears. I never make it to the window to start the installation. I've tried an earlier revision of...

    Eyefinity 4x1?

Can anyone verify that a 4x1P array can be setup? (four displays wide, in portrait mode) All I can seem to do is a 3x1 or a 1x4, or 2x2 not 4x1.

    Socket 940 / 939 Waterblocks

I'm just trying to differentiate between them. I'm looking at cooling eight or so processors, so I'd rather get them right the first time when I order. Thanks!

    Socket 940 / 939 Waterblocks

Which would be less likely to crack?

    Socket 940 / 939 Waterblocks

Thanks! That's a great price compared to the other ones... are they good performing blocks? What's the difference between the Acetal and Plexi tops?

    Liquid Cooled LCD

The displays get warm, and pump enough energy into the room that it gets up to 90*F in the room after a few hours of working at the computer doing 'basic' tasks, so it's not mostly heat from the CPU's or anything. There is no way to condition the air in the rental I'm currently in, due to...

    Liquid Cooled LCD

There's an idea. Possibly shroud the LCD array, and put a heat exchanger and a fan in the shroud, to help capture some of the heat from the arrays.

    Socket 940 / 939 Waterblocks

Thanks! Yeah, I'm looking for Opteron cooling, not AM-x style socketed chips. My mistake in being unclear. Any of those blocks a bad choice?

    Liquid Cooled LCD

I'm not sure, hence the question. I would think a decent cold plate behind the diffuser and such would still help remove much of the heat generated. And not as [H]ard. Nor as cheap, over the years. Dell 2407WFP, Dell 2408WFP, and Dell 1708FPs

Thats why I'm putting the radiators in another room (The basement currently).

    Socket 940 / 939 Waterblocks

I'm looking for the best performing socket 940/939 waterblocks, that can accept the G1/4 threads. What are some of the best performing ones out there now?

    Liquid Cooled LCD

Has anyone liquid cooled their LCD panels? I'm trying to remove as much heat from the computer room as possible, and the seven LCD's are really putting out a lot of heat. I'd like to cool them down.

    Bandwith / ECC

I think because they are still 'young' and not every card works in the extenders... They want to be able to take care of their niche market. I'm running all AMD cards here, so thats of limited bother. And no, SM says it won't work, and it does NOT work in the H8DCE. I've opened up both...

    HP SAS Expander Owner's Thread

Yup, That one. I don't know how the holes matched up, I did not line them up with the standard ATX mounting holes. The case has a latching switch on the front, so IIRC I paralleled those lines to the ATXCTR Lines, and to the second PSU which was not plugged in via the 20 pin connector. The...

    Bandwith / ECC

That is, as long as the motherboard supports a graphics card in that pci-e slot both electrically and physically. I was hoping to be able to put the graphics cards in my current H8DCE in the two x4 lane slots, but SuperMicro says no, Not Possible. Otherwise it would have been great, allowing...

    Bandwith / ECC

Yup. Between the three current boxes I've got running here, I don't have an open slot anywhere. Hence the expansion of the slots (with actual lanes to back them up). It might be soon time to exchange the idea of the main computer having the main spindles locally connected, and move some of...

    Bandwith / ECC

Thanks, yeah I never understood why motherboard makers often don't put a card slot in slot 1. I'd really like to have one of those PCIe Magma Chassis, that splits a 16x gen2 slot into 8 or 16 slots, and be able to throw all my graphics cards out there, and separate things out, but MAN are...

    HP SAS Expander Owner's Thread

Yeah. That would be nice, I'd like to upgrade from my PERC6. It aught to be compatible with the H800, if the PERC 6 is... just a generational difference... Why would you want to cross flash it to the LSI firmware? what features would you rather have that the LSI firmware gives you over the...

Exdriver - See the post above you, It looks like the TYAN S8225 fits the bill better, at least giving me the space to spread out with these dual slot graphics cards (Sure do wish they were single slot), with a few extra lanes, and a pci-e slot in slot one as well. Thanks!

    Multi-monitor Power Controls?

Well for now I'm using Wizmo, with a mouse lock, so unless a key is pressed the LCD's don't come back on. Still wish there was an easier way to power them up / down, especially if there was a way to do it individually. Three each from: HD 6870 HD 6850

    H8DCE Problems?

As Per Supermicro Tech Support, I had my Memory Hole settings incorrect, hence the 'missing' RAM. The two PCIe 4x slots are not graphics card capable, because of how they are physically wired and tied off of the chipsets. I don't know how that works (I thought PCIe was PCIe...) but thats...

I'd also be interested if the H800 actually works with SATA drives... I'd replace a few controllers here with that, I just don't have the capital to be able to drop for one if it don't work, like the spec says it ain't supposed too. Good luck, Please report back here if she does - and if she...

    HP SAS Expander Owner's Thread

Come to think of it, I've got a scratch drive setup the same way. Not quite a true JBOD, but yeah, each drive is a raid 0 array, with only itself, mine were all done through the software interface. Sounds about normal for some of the RAID cards I've worked with. YMMV if you're running...

    HP SAS Expander Owner's Thread

The PERC 6/E is not bad. But there is quite a bit of silliness with it. No drive number to physical drive alignment, bios does not see drive numbers, and seems to clone the information of the first drive it sees to all (a group of 1TB and 2TB drives show up all as 1TB, so just configure it in...

The only PERC cards that I was able to get to work with the HP SAS Expander are the /E cards. I'm currently running a pair of PERC 6/E cards to the expanders, and then looping to a couple SuperMicro SAS Expanders. The PERC 6/i cards were unable to post, they complained about the expander...
