I don't think the Odac can sound any better or worse than anything else around it. It can do math better which is its entire job. I mean it was designed and built out of spite to beat dac's costing hundreds more and simply by being the most accurate it can be.

Native Hz for movies and TV is irrelevant with modern shader controls. Setup MPC-HC with the MadVR renderer and even at 85Hz you will never want for anything more

The AG comes off all the FW900's The second one I got had it off and I removed the first and third monitors coatings. So much better. Just make sure the screen doesn't face any light sources.

Exactly right to both things. No point in trying to maintain your own FW900 site when free, easy and frankly better options are on the table. I will message the mod there and see if he is keen.

It is certainly a relay clicking over so there will be a limit to how often it can do that. I don't change res or refresh for anybody.

When I focused my screen (or my projector) I used these. As a bonus here is one I found for convergence. If you see purple anywhere your convergence is off. BUT I think it is impossible to remove it all.

My issue is definitely cable/connection related. I wonder if this new path past my power strip has anything to do with the ghosts. I put a ferrite core around the 5 smallish coax leading to the bnc's. Didn't seem to do much. Perhaps moving it to the end of the DVI cable instead.

OK, Switched my DVI-VGA adapter and 4' BNC cable to a 10' DVI-i Extension and a DVI-I to BNC and now I am getting some 3/16" ghosts to the right of anything with high contrast. I use to get this with bad DVI to VGA adapters and unfortunately I can't swap out the $40 DVI to BNC I bought...

OK, Upgrade time! (Graphics card, not monitor!) What is the bottom line on who's cards support the FW900 best? I don't run crazy res/hz just 1920x1200 @ 85hz and I just want the best software/driver support for this CRT I can get.

Has anyone tried one of these HDMI to VGA converters? I am tempted to pick one up and try and run my cable box strait into my FW900.
