You sure, I hope it's true as I would like to order a couple more of these.
Looking at their Dell.ca site it's still as of today the 2nd of March for 369.00
I'll check again later today to see if Dell has adjusted their price.
wow, talk about unrealistic expectations on your part. You don't want a TN panel but don't want to spend more than 200 bucks.
Then you will consider a 20" IPS panel for 200 bucks. Good luck unless it is a well used one. The 20" IPS Dell 2007FP is about 400 new.
I bet you paid a hell of...

$229.00 for 2209WA, check it out.
Happy to hear on your 2007FP arrival!
As for the lcd stand, correcting the landscape or portrait level of the monitor can be done by removing the monitor from the stand and then adjusting the 4 screws on the square plate of the stand by loosening them, then straighten them and then re-tighten...
correct me if Im wrong but would presume that you would have to actually install the spyder installation program with the #serial activation as anyone that has the calibration tool would already be registered for that program.
Good luck with finding one. Hopefully you will find someone...
Glad to see you order it. I see from the website that it lists as an IPS rev 05 so that is good.
I hope you do not have to pay for big taxes and delivery. With Dell at least it is free delivery.
True, it could be either IPS or S-PVA. That would have to be determined.
Myself I am only looking at Rev 05 after the manufacture dates of 2008 preferably closer to 2009.
Check the serial # in the back if it ends in "S" or "L"?
Good luck with the sale.
Thanks for the tip on how to correct the stand posture. I will take another look at mine when I get home to see that it is lined up perfectly.
Last time I checked it looked ok in portrait but I'll recheck it.
As for hdcp, I agree, I'd rather have that beautiful IPS panel.
My 2007FP doesn't seem to have that problem in portrait mode. I wonder if it could just be that particular Y stand.
On another note, I noticed for us recent buyers of 2007FP that even the latest versions are not HDCP which is a detriment if we need to hook up with the latest like bluray...
Really? What do you mean??

2007FP was and STILL are available through Dell. I purchased one 4 months ago and I love it!
My 2007FP has an "L" at the end of the serial number and was made in Mexico. Rev. 05
All 2007FPs after 2008 are all IPS so no worries there.
A very good monitor to say the least.
Thanks for the info, too bad, I guess I can cross this one out of the list as far as cases go.
I figured that the X500 was just a smaller version of the 2000 which does have a removable motherboard tray.
Looks like I have to look elsewhere as the 2000 Lian Li is just too big.
Why they...
Does anyone know if this PC-X500 has a removable motherboard tray?
This would be a deal breaker for me if it does not have a removable tray for the mobo.
I understand that the 2000 full size version does.
I am hoping that the PC-X500 indeed has one.
I noticed there was no mention of this...
"There is a youtube video from a user with the Dell 2209wa monitor showing that from the side view angle, characters in the movie DISAPPEAR. The viewing angle on these monitors is not all it's cracked up to be on forums like this one ."
Don't see that happening, I am in front of my 2209WA...

spyder 2 may not support more than one monitor. Not a hundred percent sure but you can look into it.
I know though that spyder 3 does support multiple monitors as I happen to use this with my 2007FP and 2209WA having both of them calibrated by it.

Excellent!
It seems that the latest revisions of 2209WA are less prone to the many issues that U2410 have.
My copy of the 2209WA came in without pixel, backllight or uniform issues as well. Looks like 2209WA owners are much more satisfied than people that bought U2410 and with less than half...
Wtf, Dell lists the EA231 as a TN panel in it's specs:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A2989270
We all know its IPS, just wondering if DELL knows what the hell they are selling?
Hey Morris, sorry to hear of your defective 2209WA.
So far I have lucky with my copy. NO dead pixels with good uniformity and no red/yellow tint whatsoever.
You might be able to fix your 2209WA with the dead pixel by putting gentle pressure on the spot and then proceed to tap it with a cloth...
Man, you guys in the states are lucky. Here in Canada we have to wait for those elusive sales that come around once in a blue moon.
And your taxes are less as well.

wow, those red blotches look hideous. The 2209wa batches of Dells fared better in QC than the U2410's.
It should be the other way around, the U2410's should not leave the factory unless they are tested properly.
This is unacceptable for a monitor of this calibre. I Hear alot of complaints...
75hz sounds like it will shorten the life of the lcd, is it worth the extra performance?
If it doesn't shorten it that much than I might consider doing the same to my 2209WA.
How were you able to get it to 75?
