If the tags are mostly correct, iTunes can move them into proper folders for you. Otherwise, you may have to devote a few days to manually editing tags and moving files around.
This is economically dumb. That money can be used to spur industry, not something marginally useless. If a family doesn't care about school without a computer, they certainly won't care with a computer. Most of them will probably just sell the laptop anyways...
When I did this, I simply selected 'DVD Video' or something like that in Nero and burned away. Nero sets up the file structure and also converts on the fly if necessary I believe.
Played the demo and couldn't really get into it. Didn't like how picked up weapons disappear after certain uses and thought the whole thing was just too frenetic to concentrate.
Seriously, go for it. It's a game - no reason not to try it. If you like it, awesome. If not, try something else. It's made for you to enjoy it so take advantage.
I would recommend a PC. Minis are so ... worthless unless you want a HTPC or something. For the money, you could get a far better PC desktop even if you're not maxing it out.
I'm actually very disappointed in the Nexus One. For something crafted by Google, I expected more. Software is certainly there, but the hardware is lacking. Moto's Droid still wins for me.
