Other than being the new thing, what are the clear benefits of 10.1 versus 9.X? I've been considering a FreeNAS build, and only recently have I started to see more discussion of issues with FreeNAS. Edit: Also what are the reports of instability on Avoton?

Not for your uses of encoding. You will see better performance from the two additional cores (total of 12 threads) than with a Haswell CPU at this point in time.

ASUS has always had a great track record with me. Love their products and support.

I think I would prefer it for them to just remove their ridiculous DRM rather than leave the PC entirely. I do still enjoy some of their games.

I completely agree. Reed Hastings has been a great CEO. No doubt that he has fumbled recently, but we don't know the entire situation as to what is going on. I'm sure the publishing and distribution companies are wanting to try to kill Netflix so they can gain all of the money from streaming...
